Excellent dinner with stunning views. You can see the surfers and the beautiful views of Jobos Beach. We had the Mariscada Oceanica, its a mofongo stuffed with lobster, conch and octopus...out of this world and some arañitas. Just so relaxing, great atmosphere, the fact that is open on a Monday was a plus since many restaurants are closed early in the week. Came here for the first time with very high hopes. Waited over an hour to be seated. Once seated we had to wait an additional 15 minutes for a menu. I am visiting from Florida, I was intrigued with the calamari (as I am a huge fan of it) we ordered it and come to find out it was absolutely horrific, the worst calamari I've ever tasted ( and trust me I've had my fair share of calamari). We also ordered the mozzarella sticks which tasted as if they came straight from a freezer with horrible freezer burn. Yes. This place has a great view. It also has a lethargic staff. Very slow to take an order. Slow to serve. Slow to bring bill. When we were served, they did check in a couple of times. They seem to like chatting by the bar. If it were only about my partner's dish (grouper) this would be a better review. But my burger was well beyond well done. Charred and a strain on the teeth. Zero flavor. The side salads were iceberg lettuce and what can be called tomato slices only if one stretches what a tomato is. One other thing. Sonido del Mar held it down for us in the middle of a torrential rain storm. We enjoyed their mofongo and fritters. Their drinks were also great! It's a nice chill spot for dinner if you don't feel like getting too fancy but still want a decent meal with good service. I would imagine that it has a great ocean front view but unfortunately we were unable to see due to the weather. Great fun fact though, if you ever end up here during a rain storm, they have shutters to help keep all of the rain and waves out so you'll stay nice, warm, and most importantly - DRY. read more

The view is fantastic! Despite the reviews we have it a try and was not disappointed on 2 visits. The service was friendly ,attentive and helpful as we didn't know what to order. The fish bites were grouper and it was delicious. The batter was light and the fish was fresh. The server provided us hot sauce that came in a small bottle with a test tube and a warning to only use a little...it was hot but delicious! My husband had the shrimp mufungo and he loved it! Me and family of 5 stopped at this place, which we were welcomed we originally wanted a beach view but no table were available. By the time the young lady that took our order a table with the view opened up so we asked to be moved and we were told no due to pendemic manager rule was that I could not be moved. Love the customer service. My friend asked for more tequila and a literally brought over the whole bottle to pour it in her class it was absolutely amazing great customer service. My husband and my friend had the burgers and said they were amazing I had the bacon red chicken I could've done without the bacon and just got the chicken regular but the service was so good that it didn't matter. We were nearby for horseback riding when it started to rain. This place looked pretty popping and had good reviews so we stopped by. It may at first seem like a bar, but it also doubles as a restaurant. The ocean-view is absolutely stunning. It's a great place to watch the sunset. My dining companion and I ordered: lobster with mofongo, red snapper with mofongo, and empanadillas in fish, octopus, lobster, and medley. First of all, the empanadillas made it sound like it was $1 each on the menu. (I didn't doubt it because I've gotten fantastic empanadas in Brooklyn for 0.75cents.) But it's actually $4 each! As for the quality of food itself, all of the seafood were fresh and delicious. The disappointing thing was that there wasn't a lot of seafood. The empanadillas were rather big and satisfying, but the other dishes were not only expensive but mostly mofongo. (We got it because it's a Puerto Rican delicacy, but we both hated it...) Service was slow and at one point there was a bat flying around... I definitely won't return. read more

Sat at the bar for 5 minutes before we were greeted by the bartender who just asked what we wanted. I asked for a drink menu and was given a food menu. Ordered two patron drinks with juice and waited 30 minutes to ask for a check and then watched the bartender change the price from 6 to 10 dollars for a patron drink in the computer. $20 for two drinks with less than a shot of patron (we watched her pour them) and slow, not great service? This was our go to in the evenings to hang and have drinks. Staff was always great and price were very reasonable.

Loved everything about the restaurant, the views from the restaurant are oustanding, great place to eat seafood and have some beers right in front of the sea. The place itself is beautiful with great use of wood tones, great spacious bar, where you can sit and watch the MLB playoffs or a NFL game. The parking lot is not that big, but they have attendants, helping and taking care of security. The service was excellent, our very nice and pleasant waitress was always checking on us, and everything came out on time, the beers were very cold and the food was perfect. Definetly will be visiting again in the future. read more

The mahi mahi and mofongo were fresh, flavorful, and just what the doctor ordered after a day at the beach, but the the real star of the show here during lunchtime was the view. The place is a rustic beach shack type of place but it boasts a giant back window that's directly over the ocean. Obviously those tables are the most coveted and we waited til another party was done to be able to sit there, but it made the meal a million times more enjoyable. I ordered chicken nachos and my girlfriend ordered the shrimp with creole sauce and "spider" plantains. The waiter (who was a very friendly guy) came to the table with a plate of nachos announcing that the kitchen had made a mistake and made skirt steak nachos instead of chicken nachos. He said they could remake it, but seriously: when a guy walks up to you with a gigantic plate of already-made nachos, it makes it hard to say "no thanks. Send them back please." I've been a waiter, so I sympathized with him/the situation, and took the skirt steak nachos. Regardless, I was a bit annoyed that I was put in that position. The nachos were good. Not great, but good. EASILY enough for 3-5 people to share as an appetizer. My girlfriend's shrimp in creole sauce had literally 5 pieces of shrimp, which was was pretty surprising considering that the dish cost over $20. However, the side of "spider plantains" was BOMB. We loved them. Super crunchy and delicious. We also ordered the calamari for an appetizer, and it straight up sucked. I don't want to sugar coat it. The ratio of breading to squid was about 5:1. Needless the say, half of that order remained on the plate. The food was nothing to write home about, but I'm giving this place three stars because the server (young guy) was nice, professional, and genuine. Also, the bartender was sweet. They were both overworked that night, and did a good job of holding the fort down. Nice view too! read more
