I had a craving for bbq chicken. Ne bc er been to Sonny's so I thought I'd try it. Zach brought me right in and was friendly. I cc had the smoked chicken plate with beans, Cole slaw and garlic bread. Garlic bread, eh, Cole slaw was to my liking,. Baked beans were fair. Chicken was pretty good, but probably not enough to return. No real complaint, but I am just not a huge fan of "smoked " food. read more

This one is my fault. After countless returns and countless failures this one is on me. Thinking for a minute that this location could make a meal that is satisfactory was just plain stupid. The ribs were like rubber tires and dry like the Mojave desert. We have eaten there 100 times over the years but the past 5 or so have been nothing but terrible. I ordered food from Sonnys BBQ the other day as a home delivery order through uber eats. Very disappointing. The ribs were undercooked and the brisket sandwich that they sent me had 3 slices of brisket which looked like they had been slapped on.2 of the 3 pieces consisted mostly of fat. All on a hamburger bun for 11.99. So not worth it. I should have requested a refund through uber eats. I've ordered takeout previously from Sonnys and I thought I'd give them another shot. Had I been at the restaurant it would have been sent back. I just don't think they care what they send out. Cmon Sonnys you could do a whole lot better. read more

We had lunch for 16 adults on Tuesday 3/31. The crew went up and above to seat us close together and away from regular customers. Brooke our server was excellent! So kind and friendly plus she got every order correct. She Asked all the right questions with a complicated menu - lots of choices! Great meals ! I've lived in NPR for over 20 years. This was my first time ordering anything from Sonny's BBQ on Little Road. I was hesitant to order due in part to some of their reviews. Well compared to some BBQ places I have had in Atlanta, Sonny's BBQ and sides were five stars. Better than in Atlanta. For my takeout order I ordered Baby back ribs Sliced brisket Garlic bread toast Cornbread Side of green beans Side of broccoli Side of cole slaw Side of potato salad Everything was good. Service for takeout was good too. I ordered online on their website then they sent an email confirmation and text confirmation to me. Then they notify you via text to click onto a link to let you know you're on the way. For takeout orders you can park in the designated parking spots right in front of the building. Entrance door is on the right side facing the front of the building. They make it easy. Excellent. They were stellar. I will be returning again for takeout. read more

As we do from time to time we decide to not go back to a business, but after some time we relent and give them another try. We gave this restaurant a 3rd try and will never return. We did a take out order and they forgot to put half the order in the bag. It was not busy and the order was simple. This cry for 15.00 per hour or more has not brought better help, but higher prices and poorer service. What a shame that something worth doing is worth doing well is so out of fashion. read more

Sonny's was everything you'd expect from a BBQ joint and better. Excellent portion sizes, went home with leftovers and left stuffed. Tons of flavor in the wings, pulled pork, and brisket, baby back rib meats fell right off the bone! No effort needed! Service was very good. Place was clean and had a modern vibe. Say yes to the corn nuggets--these were a really fun treat and great share. Oh, and the homemade cinnabutter served with the sweet potato was amazing!! We'll definitely be returning :) read more

How can food be so bad? From food being delivered ,cold baked potato and pulled pork, to burned and tough, the ribs. Not serving butter but instead a whipped spread in a restaurant. Never again!!! So over the years my expectations of Sonny's has gone down. This is mainly due to the fact that they have done away with particular favorites on their menu. I also feel like their quality of their service and food has dwindled over the years. Having said that, I was pleasantly surprised by my recent visit. Staff was engaging, helpful and onon their game. This is our favorite Sonny's in the area! Staff and management are very accommodating, friendly, and professional. Tonight was no exception, especially with their special - all you can eat chicken for $6.99. We were just five of so many hungry people wanting to take advantage of this great value! All five of us had the special which started with a half chicken, 2 sides (corn on the cob, green beans, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, and cole slaw were our choices) and garlic/corn bread. We all agreed that the wings, thighs and drumsticks were moist and meaty. The breasts were a little dry, but good. The corn on the cob, baked beans, and macaroni'n'cheese were all hot and tasty. The cole slaw was not as creamy as it usually is, and the green beans were good, but a little over cooked. Still, we were full without getting more chicken. We did get an extra corn bread for 3 of us - so good! Better than the garlic bread. Before leaving, 3 of us also got drinks to go. Their drinks are jumbo sized, and we like the lemonade and tea. this is in regards to a review I wrote three weeks ago on Sonny's bbq: I was in the restaurant again last night with my friends and decided I would share with the female manager that was there my feelings regarding the meal I had the last time. She made no comments as to "I'm sorry your meal was not up to par etc." She just looked at me like don't come back then. At least that was my impression. If that was her impression, it worked. That was my last time I'm in there with my friends. So sorry my friends loved the food. Last night I had a salad that was delicious. I am giving this restaurant a one star based on the lack of training that the management has there when a customerthat they're not happy with the food. read more

We love Sonny's for a quick bbq fix! I always get the cobb salad with pulled chicken, it's delicious and enormous! I love baked beans and there's is some of the best around! It's saucy, sweet and loaded with chunks of brisket. Service is decent but we prefer takeout, they have a drive through so it's very convenient. read more

The service was great. The Hub's ordered Sonny's Sampler and I ordered the Half Chicken. The restaurant was pretty busy and unfortunately they were out of the St Louis Ribs and Pulled Pork, so the Hub's got extra beef brisket and chicken and hoped the price points would have reflected that since he really didn't get a Sampler. The half Chicken (dark) 2 chicken legs and 2 thighs. It was pretty good but a bummer they ran out of the other menu items and from what the waitress said, it was due to planning rather than an overall shortage. Went 9/20/2024. We had the Family Feast. $54.99. There were 3 of us and we ate it all. So, for 4 a bit of a stretch. If you family is bigger, I believe I saw a bigger option with a bit more food for over $60. Everything in it was great. Tasted great. Plenty of sauces came with it and 1 gallon of Sweet Tea. Pretty good sliced smoked pork. Sides were delicious. Pricing was reasonable and service was prompt and courteous.

Sonny's is a chain and just doesn't stack up against the independent places in the area. The food is good but not great and the prices now just don't make sense. I probably won't go back because the independent place right down the street is so much better. read more

We've been taking our grandparents here for years when we come into town. Sonnys is a great value for a large family. Nice salad bar, burgers, chicken, ribs but not brisket. I had the brisket yesterday and it was really dry and chewy. Also, BBQ to out of towners means many different things. The BBQ ribs are made for middle america. There is no dry rub but they have been smoked (not too over powering) and sauced up. All in all, A solid 3.5 and a great place for dinner. read more

Service is fantastic. Liz, one of the servers, is very personable and attentive. Food is always consistent. St Louis ribs, chopped brisket, and sliced pork are delicious, along with good fries, garlic bread, and Cole slaw. Dining room is clean and comfortable.
