Sonny's excuse for banana pudding! Its half empty, no waffers or cool whip.

the food was not hot! the meat was crammed in 1 box. my meal was 98.00 and the containers were not full and the banana pudding was 1/3 empty,no cookies or cool whip and they left it out of our bags. i had to check my bags then ask for the pudding, then wait 10 minutes for it. the okra was ordered crunchie but was given half cooked. your waitress refused to bring it curbside because i had not added my tip but said it was because i ordered on line which i didnt order on line i had used your app instead. so i can only assume it's because i had not tipped yet! she lost a tip i pay that in cash usually. i went to drive through at that point. why have an app if they dont want to work! maybe if night shift would stop their smoking in the lot at their cars they could work! night shift is lazy!

There was a wait with it being Father's Day. However we decided to sit at the bar and were seated immediately. The food was so good. We ate it ALL! We didn't wait to take a pic.

The Fourth of July and a vacation brought us to this area. And of course, we searched Yelp for restaurants with good ratings. It turns out Sonny's was a good choice. We got lucky and arrived before the church crowd. When we left, there were quite a few people waiting for tables. The menu is extensive so I had difficulty choosing my meal. Hubby had difficulty too so he went with a sampler plate. I chose the pulled pork sandwich which was large and tasty. Of the meats on the sampler plate, hubby's least favorite was the beef brisket (which we are big fans). He really enjoyed the ribs, chicken, baked beans and coleslaw. I tried both the baked beans and slaw and have to agree they both were very tasty!!! And the cornbread was definitely a good way to end the meal. If you were in this area or near another Sonny's, I suggest giving it a try. We would again!

It set the stage perfectly for what was to come. Our host was quick and helpful, immediately bringing us big cups of water, which was a nice touch. I ordered the prime rib sandwich and was impressed by its tenderness, pairing it with crispy onion rings. Nicole and our little one shared the mixed platter, which came with two ribs, two pieces of chicken (choice of dark or light), and pulled pork, plus sides of beans and mac & cheese. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. Even Floyd and Casey got to enjoy some scraps, which they happily devoured. Dessert was a highlight: two cinnamon apple bread pudding cakes with whipped cream. Rich, sweet, and indulgent -- we left feeling full enough to skip dinner and ready for a nap. The only drawback was the grease factor. Toast was overly buttered, and overall the food leaned heavy, so be prepared to grab plenty of napkins. While the flavors were excellent, the richness sometimes felt a bit overwhelming. Sonny's BBQ delivers hearty portions, smoky flavor, and a welcoming atmosphere with attentive service. It's a great stop for comfort food on the road, though a touch less grease would make it perfect.

Dinner??? You guessed it. On point. You can taste the culinary training and experience in the food. It's clear that the chefs have worked all kinds of places, from fine dining farm-to-table all the way to down home comfort food. The menu is unpretentious and very approachable. Humble and elevated. How do they do it?! You can see the knowledge of uniquely Kentucky dishes, crafted with layers of flavor and fused with cuisines we all know and love, like creole food. A true testament to the fact that you can be from little ol' Kentucky and still make regional cuisine better than some people who are born and bred New Orleanians! Who would have known! Some people might disagree, but hey, 86 the drama and 86 the haters because I believe good food speaks for itself. And I'll tell ya what... it's walkin' the walk and talkin' the talk, alright!

Grab your cup, get your drink and sauces then pick a seat. Husband and I both went with pork platter. I got Mac n cheese and greens. My husband got greens and slaw. The slaw was chopped slaw not the pulverized kind. It seemed a little dry for us. After adding a packet of mayo the slaw was good. Greens were good. Mac n Cheese was really good. It was baked and not dried out. The cornbread was a tad sweet. We were expecting hoe cakes not Johnny cakes. Still good with butter on them. Now the pork. Excellent. We got both the sweet sauce and the hot sauce to try. The portions are huge and if you leave hungry it's your own fault. We both like the sauces mixed together. The pork was so good though you don't even need the sauce! Juicy and tender with loads of flavor all on its own. We boxed up what we couldn't finish because we had to save room for dessert. We split a piece of Lemon Blueberry cake. Lemon flavor came through every bite. Not overly sweet. Blueberry topping was like a blueberry pie filling. It was okay but the cake part was really good.
