The vibe is very nice. Sometimes we are able to see parades pass by as well as seeing all the wonderful people having a good time. There are wines and cocktails to choose from at this location. The bar is old school and the lines go by quickly. You won't be waiting a long period of time like you do for snacks. No reservations required, just walk up. Ordered a hard apple cider with another cocktail. Fresh and delicous! This spot is laid back with decent prices that comes with a discount as a Disney key member. Friday Feb. 13th a female employee picking up empty cups etc. told me to make sure I picked up my cup and threw it in the trash once I was done. As a guest that was there spending money on 3 drinks. Not a bad place to sit and refresh for a while. It's a wine bar and/or beer garden. We normally come for the wine, champagne and pretzels. Just a great stop during our visit to the parks. Located across from the lagoon and Pixar Pier, nestled in next to the Wine Country Trattoria. I feel like the seating area could use a little updating or upgrading, but it is still shady and open. There are half a dozen or so wines to choose from, a small selection of beers, hard cider, a couple mixed drinks... and a Bavarian pretzels (with or without a cheese cup). Very simple menu, yet something for everyone, even for the non-alcoholic drinkers there are bottled sodas and waters. Drinks will cost you $10-15 and a pretzel is under $10... cheese cup is a buck and a half extra. I do wish the pretzels were softer and warmer, but they do the trick. During the Covid times you can only order items through the app then wait until your items are ready and head to the window. Even then there's a bit of a wait for your purchases to be ready. They aren't super fast, but we're here to relax so really it's fine. Just find a seat and place your order... then enjoy. Look, I'm not saying you should buy park hopper tickets just so you can booze while your children run around Cars Land. But when you're spending two days at Disneyland with two children under four, a cold beer sure goes a long way. I've been to Sonoma Terrace twice this year and I appreciate that it's a fast, easy place to visit. It's somehow less mobbed with adults than like the Mickey-shaped ice cream carts. There are a few registers and negligible lines, and service is quick and friendly. You can hang out on the terrace or enjoy a walk-around drink, take some of the edge off the chaos of Disney or waiting in line with restless children. The alcohol selection is great, with beer, wine, and cocktails. I think I had a Prickly Paloma my first time around, earlier this year, a tequila drink with prickly pear and grapefruit ginger beer. My second time, I went for the Calidad Cerveza, a Mexican-style lager that was just the ticket on a warm day. My husband's Brewery X Battlesnake Pilsner was nice, too. One word of warning--if you're taking your drinks to go, keep in mind that you can't ride with them, and maybe don't go straight to a kiddie ride with a short line, where both you and your partner might have to chug beers while wrangling your three-year-old and baby, finishing just in time to trash your empty cups before loading the children onto Ariel's Undersea Adventure, for example. Disneyland appears to be part of our lives now, so I expect we'll make many more visits to Sonoma Terrace as our children grow up. I've always just trekked past this place, mostly because I'm not much of a drinker. Instead we came here for Oogie Boogie Bash for their dessert dining with parade viewing seating. You have to come super early, regardless of this RSVP because there's 3 different layers of seating. One closest (where people can still sit on the ground in front of you), and 2 layers in the back with tall, "studio" style chair seating. They gave us complimentary Dasani water bottles. For $60+ we got a small plate of desserts and one drink. The fruit punch came with whipped cream and was a sweet treat. It was a bit more than what you can fit in a Dixie cup. I honestly found the desserts pretty mid... -Gummy centipedes that you can get gummy worm substitutes anywhere -Chocolate mousse (not bad) but it was impossible to take this back home. It just splattered into pieces. -Small red velvet bundt cake. Not bad but nothing to write home about. -A sugar coated piece of fudge (probably my favorite) -Raspberry streusel (very small piece), it was alright -Rice Krispy treat. It looks cute, but it's kinda basic. I don't think this was worth the cost when I could have just mobile ordered more food for a lesser cost and parked myself for closer seating for the parade. read more

I'm not sure when or if I will ever find a decent pretzel at a theme park, (many people say the cream cheese pretzel is the best so maybe that will satisfy my cravings?) but for now, the Bavarian pretzels are just sad. I swung by Sonoma Terrace around 4:30pm and ordered the pretzel with beer cheese sauce and a Golden Road Blondie draft, totaling about $20 after a Magic Key discount. The beer, luckily, was great. Cold, crisp, light, refreshing, and tasted great. The cheese was meh, typical packaged cheese sauce. The pretzel had decent dough but it was just plain, dry, and besides the rock salt, had no other flavoring. For starters, seating is inside an area that seems like it could use some magical remodeling. I get the Italian vibe, but it seemed dated. The walls and furniture could use some freshening up. The one menu item I was excited to try, The Peppermint Martini, which was on the online menu wasn't even available. When we asked, the server indicated they never received the ingredients. Well that's a drag! Out server must have missed the Disney orientation because he was just such a drag to be around. He seemed like he needed that Peppermint Martini more than me! If you're in the park and need something fast that's going to fill you up but not make you disgustingly full then the meatball sandwich is the way to go. We also snatched the last De Vil-ishly Delectable Wings which had black sesame seeds on them and they were delicious as well. It's Halloween time right now so they feature an Ace pumpkin cider which was AMAZING. Also, the Underworld Libation is a rum cocktail that I would recommend as it's not super sweet even though it comes with cotton candy! I usually come here for the alcohol, but hopefully they'll keep the meatball sandwich as a permanent menu item because it's perfect. Much like many I've walked by Sonoma Terrace a dozen times not giving it the light of day, but after a recent "well why not" mindset I'd say I'm a true fan for life. It comes out in a heat bag so at least it put me at ease about getting amass produced cold sandwich. There are 3 large Italian meatballs and honestly it really is a meal in itself. The melted mozzarella was not salty and it coated the baked Italian roll quite abundantly. Like a weirdo I ate the meatballs separately which left me virtually with cheese bread at the end. Happily thanks to the steaming of the roll the bread was soft and easily pulled away and left with gooey pulls of cheese and that made this bambino jump for joy. I really wish there was a vegan version of the meatball like they had during Pixar Fest, but this equally as appreciated. The cast members are usually super nice but our experience today stood out. Phil from Pomona hates his job and it shows in the way he treats people. He was so rude and very unpleasant. I've never had anyone ask me to take a drink of my drink in front of them to "verify" that after I drink from it, I wouldn't be able to return it. My partner and I were so confused, we had to ask him again what he wanted us to do and he told us to drink from our cups so that we couldn't ask for a refund. I went here yesterday and it was amazing! The service is amazing and the food is served very nicely. I had the spaghetti and meatballs (I ordered that instead of the standard) and the meatballs were very moist and juicy. My lemonade was absolutely amazing too. It is all natural lemonade on the bottom, then at the top there is this pink colored thing. It kinda looked like whipped cream but it wasn't! You're supposed to mix it together and it changed the flavor. It was super tasty! The desert we got was very tasty as well. Employees were constantly checking up on us, and Anne would always walk by and clear off the table for us. Plan to come here again! I love this little secret in California Adventure. Usually the crowd that comes here are a bit more mature than those who go to the beer truck near paradise pier. They have higher alcohol content beers, and a good selection of wines. The drinks are a bit more expensive, but what's one or two more dollars for a beer thats 9.2% ABV compared to 7%? It's worth the money, the atmosphere is much better and quieter than most places at California Adventure. Do yourself a favor and give this place a visit. This is a hidden escape for a midday siesta, perfect for an afternoon break to get away from the crowds and rest your tired feet. They offer a wide selection of craft beers (from local breweries in Anaheim and the surrounding areas, as well as throughout the state), wine and bar bites. I always get a glass of the MacMurray Pinot Noir -- smooth and not too bright. If it's a hot day, I get a glass of the bubbly sparkling wine. They serve all drinks here in to-go plastic cups, so if you're on the go you can take your drink with you (yes you can actually walk around California Adventure with a glass of booze!). The line here can get long late in the afternoon, once adults start getting exhausted from the Disney Magic and need a break to drink. Next to the counter, they have lots of tables in a peaceful shaded area, complete with Spanish guitar music piped through the speakers. If you come during the right time of the afternoon, the seating area is perfect viewing for the Pixar parade. Disneyland Park is notoriously dry of alcohol-unless you have an exclusive membership to Club 33, you are SOL in terms of finding an adult beverage. Of all the places in DCA that serve booze, this is far and away my favorite. My wife and I stumbled across this place one hot, crowded June day as a place to stop merely because it was shady and not crowded. Well, we were quite please when we found out that they also feature an amazing selection of craft beers and wines! Seriously, there were beers here that I had only heard about but never found anywhere else. As our trip went on, this place became our "safe haven" in the afternoon and evening when the temperatures would rise and the cranky kids would make their voices heard. The bartenders here and very laid back and friendly and are happy to offer up suggestions on what to drink should you need one. They also serve uber delicious baked pretzels with amazing beer mustard. Prime example of how nice perfect this place can be-one afternoon we came here, got a beer and a pretzel and sat in the shade, and got to see the Inside Out parade go past. No waiting in the sun for an hour for a good spot or anything! Sonoma Terrace is a total oasis for adults in DCA and if you're looking for a spot to sit in the shade, take a break, and have a cold one, there's no better spot. read more
