They are always available and making suggestions about the menu and wines and have genuinely looked eager to help. The food is always quite good and the portions are nice. The menu and specials does seem to rotate a bit as well so always be sure to check it out. The brie bowl was definitely a favorite of ours as well as the Rose flights. The setup is larger inside than it looks from outside but seating can still fill up quickly during peak hours so be aware. Overall, I am fan of what they have offered thus far and I hope to return again soon.

We were greeted and seated upon entering by the establishment's owner, Ernest, and I immediately knew this was going to be a special meal. It is rare and so appreciated to go into a place and feel the vision and passion from the time you walk in. Thank you, Ernest, for sharing your story and making us feel so welcome. California Vintage Wine Bistro has perfect low lighting, a thoughtful setup, and pleasant vibe-setting tunes playing in the background, creating a wonderful ambiance. We enjoyed a red Zinfandel from Argentina to drink--the wine list is very diverse and features selections from across the globe, including a wine tasting offering. For our meal, we ordered the Burrata and Baby Heirloom Tomato Salad, Steak Au Poivre, and Pan Fried Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes. All of the dishes were excellent and featured high quality ingredients, but I would certainly order that steak again. The green peppercorn brandy sauce on it was absolutely excellent to go along with a well cooked, great piece of meat. We finished the meal with their house-baked chocolate cookies, which were dangerously buttery and delicious. The soup had the perfect consistency of creaminess followed by savory tomato flavor. It had some delicious (and I think) roasted potatoes, and the side of roasted sourdough with roasted tomatoes was perfection and really brought the dish together beautifully. The daily sandwich of the day was also fantastic! We remember biting into the sandwich and it melting in our mouth. The bread was beautifully crunchy and the meat with all its toppings inside couldn't have been any better. For our drinks, we opted to do a tasting of whites and reds. The wines were selected by our host (if I recall) and remember enjoying them all. It was fun to taste not only different varietals, but wines from different parts of the world. I was especially excited to see they had a really great selection of wine bottles to purchase in their wine shop. I happened to see one of my favorite ones there. We ended up purchasing a sparkling wine bottle at the end of our experience to have with our thanksgiving meal the following day. The service was A+. Every interaction from when we first walked in the door, being seated, being provided food recommendations, was a great experience. The ambiance is perfectly casual with a slight elevatedness to it. You don't have to wear a cocktail dress or tux to come here but it's definitely a perfect date night place or to come with friends and loved ones and enjoy a delicious meal followed by great wine. We were on a time crunch and wish we would have stayed to enjoy an actual entree but look forward to being back in town and visiting Colony Wine Merchant again.

Definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time -- it's a small space with only 30 spots and fills up quickly.

The server came by to say that we only had 25 min left, so we hurriedly ordered a last drink. But when he delivered it, it magically became 5 min! I chugged my drink and was ushered out the door.
