Sonya Schwartz gave me an acupuncture treatment four weeks ago in Los Feliz after I got back from 5 months in China on business. I was jetlagged, malnourished and felt perpetually hungover (in fairness, I did drink a lot in China). I first tried accupuncture 10 months earlier in Hong Kong, and while the doctor didn't speak any english I still loved it. I felt like I had electricity running through my veins for days after. Back to my treatment. This time was much more comfortable than my Hong Kong experience and i'm not sure if it's common for Acupuncturists to verbally walk you through each step (the HK Doctor didn't) but Sonya did and this made me feel more relaxed and focused. After three acupuncture sessions, I can't say that my wrist is all that much better--but it's a pretty severe problem that even a quick-fix cortisone shot probably wouldn't fix right away. But I *can* say that I have left each session feeling very relaxed and much more in touch with my body and self, and I'm confident that Sonya's got me on a track to continue to feel and generally *be* better. I can't speak highly enough of Sonya Schwartz. She is one charming little lady; her demeanor is calming and sweet and you to instantly feel at ease. I scheduled an appointment on Thursday for Sunday at 11:30 am for a Fire Cupping session. The girl who answered the phone took down all my information. I had to call several times on Thursday to reach someone. Since this was my first time here, I arrived a little early. I'm glad that I did because I had to find street parking. Once I arrived to Golden Folk I turned the door handle and to my surprise it was locked. I looked through the windows on both sides and saw that the place was empty. I knocked on the door and no one came to the door. I called the number several times and no one answered. Keep in mind that this particular it was a hot one. I stood under the trees and waited until 11:30 just in case someone was running late. I left a message on the answering service stating that I was standing outside and I would stick around to 11:30. No one returned my call nor came to the door. Needless to say I will NEVER return. Such a lack of professionalism. read more

I love acupuncture, and have always been of the school of thought that if a little old chinese lady wasn't doing it, then i wasn't going to be on the other end of the needle. This all changed when i was desperate for an appointment and found Sonya. I was desperate for a session, suffering from stress and anxiety, you know basically life. I went to see Sonya after I had left Urgent Care with a $140 prescription for antibiotics and had decided that the nurse may have been too swift with her diagnosis. I called up Sonya and she immediately honed in on what was going on with me and had some great suggestions on alternative ways to deal with my issues. Sonya has really powerful energy and will absolutely make you feel comfortable and at ease. I have Sonya perform cupping on me which I'm now totally addicted to.
