Today was my first visit to Sophia Salon, and I can't say enough good things about it! I was with my former salon for a long time, but unfortunately they said they could not give me a classic French tip, it made no sense to me. At Sophia they can do anything you ask, and you get a complimentary drink (mimosas, coffee, tea, soft drinks etc) if you spend over $20. The owner and manager, Apple, is the sweetest and made sure I was happy. She was obliging and thoughtful. The technician who did my nails is April, and she was very gentle and kind. I was able to pay with my debit card so that was convenient too! The salon is pristine and beautiful. The ambience is peaceful and calm. It is also extremely hygienic which is wonderful during covid. I made an appointment with a specific technician for a fill and it was not honored when I walked in the door. Apple who appeared to be the manager had just placed a walk-customer in at the seat I was supposed to be in at my appointment time. Apple decided to do a pedicure for me and left multiple spots bleeding on my feet. She then proceeded to talk bad about her own employees saying they did not listen or pay attention after working there for over a year who does that to their own employees? Ultimately I left without having the service I called for a fill done due to the owners horrible customer service and injuring a client. I went in yesterday to check out the newly remodeled shop and I was amazed on how beautiful everything was and how I felt so welcomed. Even though I was a walk in they took me right away in brand new spa massage chairs and offered me a free beverages from Mimosas to soft drinks and coffee or tea. I used to like this place, but recently I scheduled an appointment for myself and daughter. When we arrived they were very full and said it would be a 5 minute delay. They got us seated in chairs and started the soak. We sat there with our feet soaking for 30 min - and finally just gave up and left, wet feet and all. I so wanted to like this nail salon but after trying it for the first time, I don't think I will return. I booked a pedi appointment. But when I arrive on time for my appointment, I had to wait 20mins with no explanation of why I need to wait this long. The people who came after me was told "you can sit at the table x for your mani." I thought okay maybe they don't have a spot available for pedi yet so I just sat there and waited. The owner walked pass me multiple times but never said anything to me at all. When I finally got to my appointment, the pedi as done decent. Not great but decent. I started chatting with the lady who did my pedi and asked her if she has time for a regular polish mani. This is where things got very wrong. We picked a color that's running out from the bottle but she proceed with scraping the rest to apply on my nails. I was fine at this point. But after one hand, she went looking for a new bottle but came back with bad news that they don't have another. She then just dropped a few alcohol in the existing bottle and proceed with finishing my hands. The way she applied regular polish is so sloppy but look okay from first glance. After she's done, she just told me to sit there for 10mins without any heat treatment to dry the polish faster. I did but then have to leave for another appointment but my nail is already chipping at that point. All the interaction I had with the owner (I assume she's the owner since she's working the register) had been quite unwelcoming and cold. After taking a closer look at the nails, they look terrible. The two layers aren't even and you can see the line where they start from my cuticle. I wasn't planning on returning for a fix since I simply didn't enjoy the service at this place at all. Maybe if you are requesting a more expensive service for your mani, you will get a better result. But my gel pedi and regular polish mani has been quite disappointing. I went when I read all the great reviews but it's sad that my experience was quite the opposite. read more

I come here regularly for dip nails. Every time is a good experience. There has been a time or 2 where my nails didn't cure properly and when I went back for them to be fixed I was helped immediately and fixed quickly. They care about my time! How refreshing! Teresa is one of the best nail artists I have had. In my last visit she was not available so I someone else did my nails. I had the dip done, which I always do. They usually last 3-4 weeks. This last time, before the first week was over my nails started to fall off. They were not properly applied. They are a good place to relax, but whenever they are busy the quality of work offered declines. I have also seen that the service I receive is different than what other clients receive. I'm not sure why that is. Everyone should expect the same caliber of service. I will probably not be visiting this place again. But if you do, request Teresa. She is the best. read more

Brian was awesome!! Look at how perfectly shaped, colored and shaped my nails are! My real nails with the "real gel" nail polish! The last five places I've been to either shaped my nails wrong (and convinced me it was correct) shaped my nails crooked, or did a really bad paint job. I tried Brian based on reviews off of Yelp and he did not disappoint. Best manicure ever!!! Just look how perfect! I finally found a place to get my nails done. No miscommunications.
