I came by Sophie's for a quick lunch. It was pretty packed at 1 pm, which gave me good feelings about the food. It was relatively small, with the only seating along the side. I ordered the slow-roasted mojo pork, mora rice and beans, steamed vegetables, and tostones. I was pleased with the amount of food you get for a large, and the prices are very reasonable. The pork was melt-in-your-mouth tender, the vegetables were well-seasoned, and the rice and tostones were flavorful.

I ordered lunch here numerous times thus this is for delivery only. I have dined at numerousSophie's Cuban restaurants from Upper East Side to Midtown and Downtown. One thing is certain, their food is consistently delicious.; When I'm in a cheating mood their Cuban sandwich( pork, Swiss, pickles on toasted bread, you got it!) is absolutely delicious and their green sauce gives their sandwich, salads and rice dishes a zesty flavor. I've ordered their rice and black beans so many times I've lost count. Their black beans are creamy not watery and placing them on top the fluffiest white rice is a whole meal. Of course, adding the green sauce is a must to give it a kick. I've also ordered their tostones which are equally delicious. Today, I decided to order their white bean and avocado dish with diced red onions and lime juice and mixed it with a side of rice. It was absolutely amazing! Perfect for a summer lunch. The portions are generous thus I had leftovers. I drank their lemonade which was fine but lacked tartness and I love mint with my lemonade. There is so many other great meal options such as empanadas, steak, baked chicken and Moro rice. If you want a taste of authentic Cuban cuisine, make Sophie's your go to..

My coworkers and I have been running out of lunch options in the area so we were excited to try Sophie's! I got their spicy chicken sandwich and it was delicious. The chicken itself looked a bit burnt so I was nervous that it was going to be dry, but it was moist and juicy. The pickles also added a nice touch. I tried their beef empanada as well, and it definitely hit the spot. Lines were a bit long since they just opened but I was able to order online and picked it up. Wonderful addition to the area!

Great selection of dishes to choose from. The food is really good and fills you up with a nice hearty homestyle meal. We ordered the baked chicken with rice and plantains and also the pulled pork with rice and veggies. The small and large sizes don't look like much of a difference but the sizing is actually pretty decent. The service is fast during the lunch hours and most people take the food to go. They have a few stools for people to sit inside but otherwise it's a takeout spot. They have multiple locations throughout the city so I'm glad there's one closer to the office now.

Fantastic Cuban food near the NYC courthouses. Sophie's Cuban has 10 locations with nine in Manhattan and one in Brooklyn. This is the newest location and it's spacious with plenty of natural light. And best of all, they serve the same great Cuban food as all the other locations.

This place should be ashamed of themselves with their inflated prices and the small portions of food they give you. I paid nearly $4 for a beef empanada and close to $13 for a Cuban sandwich. When I got my order I was extremely disappointed. The beef empanada was the size of my palm! And it wasn't very flavorful. The Cuban sandwich barely had anything in it! The pork was also flavorless and dry. The only reason that I'm giving them two stars is because the service was decent but never again.

I would say that this was lucky cause the place was packed. Generally loud but you can still talk with people on your party. One of the first things I look for is if a restaurant serves you water when you sit and here they do and the waitress would often make sure we were topped off. That is something that is always appreciated and noticed by me. The food was generally good and service was fast. I tried various dishes and while great tasting nothing really stood out like lots of the reviews said and I tried a bit of everything that was recommended in the reviews. (Even ox tail empanadas which sounds weird but weren't bad). I think the biggest appeal here is that it's 24 hours so you know you always have a quality place to go to that is great. I would recommend it to anyone in the area but I don't know if I would go out of my way for it. I know that if I'm watching another play, it is a great stop for either before or after.

The restaurant is open 24 hours and is the perfect place to go for those late-night cravings. One can sit at the full bar, in the dining area, or get items to go. The restaurant is always lively and patrons get seated quickly. The most I have ever waited for a seat is 5 minutes. There are more than 40 empanadas in corn or wheat shells to order. The menu celebrates diversity through its' empanada pairings. Greek - spinach pie, Cuban - ham, pork, and cheese, Americana - cheeseburger, Bombay - Curried chicken, Brasil - traditional ground beef, Hawaiian - ham, pineapple & mozzarella cheese and many more. Besides empanadas, there is a full menu of Colombian delights to eat including arepas, salads, sandwiches, soups, tacos and tapas. They have dessert empanadas as well. Love the USA empanada, which is apples & cinnamon baked and the Nutella & banana one. You can get it topped with ice cream as well. Really looking forward to my next visit.

No greeting, no "I'll be right with you" as I'm just standing there waiting to order. Even though we ordered around the same time, my friend got her empanada first while I sat here for over 7 minutes waiting for mine. How difficult is it to reheat these empanadas? It wasn't until I had to walk up to the lady at the cash register to ask about the status of my order. She then gives me my bag that was just sitting behind the counter. Did they not bother to call my name/order number? And trust me, I was listening diligently to make sure I hear my order when called. Like I said, empanadas tasted good, big in size and packed with meat. Not sure if this is a sketchy part of town or just where the riff-raffs hang out soo that may explain the lack of care here. A place to just order your empanadas and move on with your day.

The dine in folks are never prioritized. I have enjoyed shakes, rice and bean combos, veggie and meat empanadas here. Today's service felt off because the air-conditioning wasn't working inside and it was at least 10 degrees hotter inside than the hot sidewalk. The middle-aged cashier/attendant had a hearing issue or was slow on the pickup because they entered my order incorrectly on the cash register and made me repeat everything 1-2 times (what? what?) or speak louder than I typically would. The food itself was fine but the avocado shake I ordered was not tasty at all. I am not sure if it was added ingredients, the quality of the avocado itself, the lack of ice or cold water in the mix but it was undrinkable. I asked for a refund because it tasted SO horrible I did not want another sip and the cashier gave me a look like that wouldn't be possible so I asked for ice but there was no saving the terrible shake. I returned to ask for a refund and you would think that I asked for something never heard before. The cashier said that I can step away because this is going to take awhile. They texted and called a manager and after awhile returned to tell me they couldn't reach that person. I don't understand why they can't issue refunds at point of sale. You have my credit card and the transaction number. After a longer wait, I finally insisted on some method of resolution and they gave me cash back. I generally like their food and would like to support this place but today was an off putting experience.
