We called Gring Pest Control based on previous experience we had with them. They were able to fit us in the next day. Francisco Luna did a great job - treated the hive and then suggested he return the following week to ensure the yellowjackets were gone. The second treatment was at no additional charge! We waited a couple days at Francisco's suggestion, then came back and dug out the old stump the hive was in and filled in with dirt. They are not equipped to properly complete the job of rat eradication, have a very unreliable worker, and when told of the facts, did not provide good follow up customer service. I am not in the habit of writing bad yelp reviews- in fact I have never written one before. But I would like to warn others who need to get rid of rats to not waste time with this company.

Best Care Fumigation was sub-contracted by Pacific Pest Management when we were looking to fumigate…read moremy parent's home due to a termite infestation. While they were very quick and efficient in tenting the home and take-down after the fumigation was over, we had major issues with them both during and after the process was over. Specifically: 1) Despite leaving both the keys and gate controls with them, they left the home unlocked and gates fully open for the entirety of the project. Despite requesting that they at minimum close the gates before leaving both prior to the start of the project, as well as multiple times during the project, they ultimately failed to do so for any of the days that they were working on the home. Fortunately, my parents were staying at a hotel two towns over, so they would see on their camera feed that the gate was left open and swing by after work in the evenings to close it. 2) We were instructed to ideally empty the fridge prior to fumigation. But was told that if there were any food still at the time of fumigation, to ensure they were sealed airtight in the provided bags. When Best Care arrived on site, they emptied the entire contents of the fridge into a box stating that NO food could be left in the home. They stated that they would dispose of the box of food before leaving that first day, so we didn't think too much about it after handing the property off to their care. At the end of the fumigation, we found the box sitting outside the home out in the open, with ants crawling all over the spoiled food that had been out for nearly a week. It would have been fine if they couldn't dispose of the food for us. But should have informed us of so, instead of telling us they would dispose of it only to leave it outside to create another potential infestation. 3) Upon returning to the property, we immediately noticed that one of the handrails to the front door entrance was completely ripped out of the ground. And the brick foundation it was anchored into was completely demolished. When we contacted both Best Care and Pacific Pest regarding this, Best Care offered a pittance of $50 to cover this damage as a courtesy, and denied any wrong doings. Despite providing video evidence at their request of their employee forcefully pulling on the heavy tarp that was draped over the railing instead of simply moving the tarp off, ultimately damaging the railing and demolishing the brick foundation. And even after offering them a concession of only 50% of the ultimate repair cost incurred. It still took 3 months of aggravatingly chasing Best Care via both email and phone calls before finally receiving restitution. All the while we were constantly getting ghosted, receiving seldom and vague responses to our inquiries, or receiving lies about how the check was in the mail and we should have received it. We especially knew that the latter was a lie because the check # that they provided us that they claimed was mailed out was the same check # that we ultimately received in the mail 3 months later. In which both the check date and the post marked date on the envelope was only a few days prior to when we physically received the check.

Otis and Pest #1 are awesome!! We had an awful smell coming…read morefrom under our house, so I called one of the big-name pest control companies for a free estimate. When the tech guy arrived, he told me he thought the problem might be in the attic (what? so clearly from under the house) and might be mold (what? smelled like dead animal). I never did receive an estimate from them. Then I called Pest#1 - WOW what difference! Otis said that it smelled like there was a dead something under the house. The crawl space is very short/full of ductwork, and the smell was awful. Otis said the tech from the big-name company probably just did not want to do the hard yucky work. Otis put on his gear, and spent half an hour dragging himself through the crawl space looking for the problem. It was grueling, but he just kept at it. Eureka - a really gross large dead rat. You want help from someone who knows how to work to solve your pest problem, can't do better than Pest#1 and Otis.

The next thing they did was charge several more thousands of dollars to seal up holes that they thought they saw from underneath the house. i'm guessing we spent probably $4000 or $5000 by this time. This did not solve the problem. I called them back again, Otis came out again, and this time he said that they were jumping on the roof and that we should cut the trees back. We did so. Otis looked on the roof and sealed up anything he could find. But this did not solve the problem. My son continuously reported to me that he kept hearing the rats in his wall. When I would tell this company this situation, they would say oh we don't open walls. Well, if they don't open walls, why did they keep looking at other places when that's where my son reported hearing them? They weren't coming in from the furnace room which cost us thousands of dollars. They weren't coming in from the roof which also cost us thousands of dollars. They weren't coming in from under the house, which cost us several more thousands of dollars. And guess what the rats are still there. I contacted the company yet again, why I have no idea since they clearly can't fix the problem, but I wanted to get them the benefit of the doubt. This time, they had the audacity to say, will seal it up and will guarantee it and it'll be perfect and it'll cost you another $2250 I contacted them and said you guys said it would be perfect and wonderful and sealed up before, the last three times I hired you and Mark laughed and said oh you know we don't open walls. He actually laughed, incredible. They seem to think I would actually hire them again. I'm considering small claims court. In any event folks, save yourselves a lot of grief, and don't hire this company under any circumstances. I have a feeling some of the other five star reviews were relatives of theirs, trying to help them get their rip off business on wheels.

David responded right away, did a visit and provided a fair estimate. The small critter was trapped and David sealed off all points of entry. Service was quick, communication was transparent and responsive, and David showed up with great expertise. I highly recommend you call them especially if you're in the East Bay.
