This wonderful bakery never ceases to amaze me! Their cakes not only taste delicious, they are beautiful works of art and they are made with the best and purist ingredients. My guests always ask where did the cake come from. The cakes are moist and delicious and the frosting is excellently made. They are amazing decorators! I pray that they will never ever go out of business. I know they won't as long as I have family and events to celebrate! They are always very courteous and professional when taking the order and everything is always ready and on time. Thank you for making my recent events a success.

Let me just start by saying I am such a picky cake eater. I was asked to pick up a cake for my brother for my nephew's birthday. The shop is very cute and inviting. Despite the amount of hustle and bustle going on in the shop, the lady at the front was kind and engaging. The cake was pound cake and absolutely delicious!!! I typically only want a homemade cake, but this was so good!

I heard of Sophisticakes through a friend. I knew the next event I attended I had to order a cake from this place. The ordering was a little tricky. I had to call and leave a message with details about what I wanted to order. I received a call back within 24 hours. The cake was a two tiered pound cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. Although the cake was not for any special occasion, the cake was decorated with a simple design. The hours are a little tricky especially if you need a cake during the week. The bakery closes at 4:00, so I had to arrange for someone else to pick up the cake.

I've tried sophisticakes at a party a few years ago and was honestly so impressed! They have a great reputation and are known for their great flavors and beautiful cakes. This pound cake was 2 layers with a rich buttercream icing. Simple yet tasteful decorations were a nice touch considering it wasn't for any special occasion. Ordering and pick up were a bit tricky in terms of getting a hold of someone. I had to call and leave a message and wait for someone to call back to place the order. Pick up had to be before 3:00pm on a weekday which was impossible with my work schedule. I had to organize a friend to pick up. Incredible flavor, amazing cake, but very inconvenient!

Not memorable but will work in a pinch. Cake tends to be on the dry side a lot of times but still tastes fine.

Each visit is a discovery of new deliciousness and temptations for the tastebuds. Last time I went with a decaf affogato with vanilla softserve, the classic. SO GOOD! 5*/5. I've been dreaming about getting it again so finally went today. and was immediately distracted by their extensive hot chocolate and drinking chocolate menu which now I need to go back and try. While I thought I'd go for the classic decaf affogato, I was enticed by the espresso X version which includes a warm chocolate chip brownie, hot fudge, rice krispie sprinkles, and the decaf espresso (at my request), vanilla and chocolate twist (other options just vanilla or just chocolate) - for the same price as the classic. How could I resist? Amazing - 5*/5 I have yet to try something at Lu & Aug's that isn't outstanding.

I had the BLT with avocado and every part of the meal was excellent. The toasty bread was crisp and had a really nice texture; the egg was cooked just how I asked; the bacon a perfect balance of crisp and chewy. I asked for an extra side of avocado (I'm all about getting my fiber) and it arrived at the peak of perfect ripeness. The home fries were tender and savory. Also my cappuccino was delicious. The dining area was very clean and had a faintly rustic feel. The bathroom was also sparkling clean. I was in and out in less than 40 minutes, too, but never felt rushed. There were plenty of vegetarian options. I'm not too sure about it if you have to avoid dairy or gluten; the menu has a lot of that. Handicap access was pretty good: no steps to get in and out of the place. Honestly I can't wait to visit here again!

Spent almost $50 on candies and treats, and firstly all of the "bulk" candy was clearly stale and had been out for a long time. My partner and I also purchased treats called "thin mints" (which any google search would tell you thin mints = girl scout style cookie treat) but when we opened them at home they were peppermint patties, a completely different treat and not something either of us like. We went back today to see if we had been given the wrong thing or if they could help us, and the woman there (assuming she was the owner/manager by her demeanor) was so so unprofessional and dismissive! We walked in and no one greeted us, the "owner" woman was at the register on her cell phone talking and turned away from us upon walking in. After a few minutes a young girl came out and helped us, so I explained the miscommunication the day before. The owner (note, she was also in the store the day before during our initial transaction) interrupted to explain in a pretty condescending way that they meant something different by "thin mints" and that we clearly did not know. She then got back on her phone and turned her back, clearly did not care that a customer was unhappy. I explained to her employee that this was clearly a miscommunication and can they help us with switching to a candy we like or give us a refund, and she quickly refused and offered no other path to making the situation right. So disappointing to want to support a small business, just to realize they completely don't care about what they are selling or who they are selling to. Seriously, go to the Head Nut candy shop in town instead.
