This place definitely falls into the first category. This morning I went with the single origin Guatemala drip, and it was exactly what a solid cup of coffee should be. Smooth, rich, and balanced with a nice chocolate note that hangs around just long enough to make you take another sip. No bitterness. No burnt taste. Just a clean, well-roasted cup that says someone here actually cares about the beans. The shop itself has a personality, which I always appreciate. It's decorated with fishing lures, fish artwork, and sculptures scattered around the place. Naturally this leads to the obvious conclusion: the owner is either an avid fisherman... or coffee roasting is just the side hustle between trout expeditions. Either way, the theme works. Every employee I encountered was kind and made me feel welcome. Not only is this an adorable place to shop but there are enough tables that it would be the perfect place to meet a friend for coffee or set up for the afternoon with a book.
