Highly HIGHLY recommend Curtis & Guy and the entire Sorber mechanical team! Here's why: Our old HVAC system was going out on us and we wanted to replace it entirely. We interviewed almost a dozen companies in our home to find the right match (price + service + products/offer). After all, this is an expensive home maintenance project! Sorber was our last interview, and we almost canceled because we were just "over it" with all the interviews. Sorber came highly recommended by a colleague of my husband's (he works in Architecture), so we figured we'd at least hear them out. While other companies had taken up a lot of time (some over an hour!) explaining all the millions of ins & outs of products, options, and financing, etc., Guy came in, assessed our unit, and gave us simple options with quotes right on the spot. He was in & out in 15 minutes. He wasn't in a rush at all, and in fact was extremely friendly, down-to-earth, and willing to answer all of our questions. He just knew his stuff and didn't waste our time. He was able to give us a quote WELL UNDER the others' (as in, thousands less) and also replacing with the newest technology (Heat Pump) and taking advantage of the SMUD rebates. A few other companies tried to discourage us from going the Heat Pump/SMUD rebate route because it was nearing the deadline and they weren't sure if they'd be able to get it done in time. Sorber just made it happen. Needless to say, we went with them. When it came time for installation, Curtis and his team were polite, friendly and professional. They had the entire unit removed and replaced with a new one within 2 days. They also removed an old concrete pad we had in our backyard that was supporting our old unit, at no extra charge. This was hard work! They had to bring in a special tool just to get it out. Everything was cleanly and professionally done. We were initially apprehensive about doing this (big investment!), but it has been 3 months now since they've completed the work, and I'm writing this review in a blissfully cool home while it's 110 degrees outside! Our new unit is quiet and extremely efficient. I don't typically take the time to write reviews, but in this case, I wanted to make sure I did. The entire Sorber team was absolutely great!!

Honest. Reliable. They were about 1/3 of the price as well! (We got two other bids from reputable companies.)

We called a few places that we had used in the past, but they couldn't come out for several days. A friend of mine recommended Good Guys, so we reached out to them. Thankfully, they were able to come out the next day! Jason was our service technician. He was prompt and polite. He quickly found the problem and got to work making the necessary repairs. He was knowledgeable and explained everything to us. Within an hour our unit was up and running again! We will definitely be using Good Guys whenever we need any heating and air repairs.

TL;DR: They're amazing and you should use them!…read more This was our second time using Good Guys and both times have been amazing! We called yesterday morning when we noticed our AC was not kicking on and they were able to get a tech out today! Butch arrived on time and was friendly as could be. He wasted no time jumping in and trying to diagnose the problem. He went through everything he could think of, figured it out, and advised us of best solutions. We never felt pressured or unsure of the decisions we were making. He also pointed out things to keep an eye on, as they appeared to be going bad or outdated, but again, never once did he push for us to buy or do anything now. He was also honest with us about replacing the unit altogether (yes, you're thinking he wants us to spend the money and they make it), but the unit is 32 years old with a life expectancy of 20, soo he's not wrong. Beyond suggesting a new unit he priced out different components that we could replace, as we wanted to, in order to squeeze as much life out as we could. We were already considering replacing, so he helped us set up a no obligation consultation later this week. And honestly, if not for the service and respect we've been shown, we'd consider shopping around more, but this family owned company has earned our business and trust for years to come! If you need service or repairs, do not hesitate to reach out and use Good Guys, because they truly are: Good Guys!

Rey's Air Solution

One time I had an issue…read morewhich they couldn't pin point, but they told me to keep calling every time I noticed the sound and they would help me until they could find it. Well...it turns out it wasn't the unit. It was a plumbing issue and they still helped me pin point the issue - no charge. They texted me a you tube video so I could fix it. It's so hard to find companies you can trust, but Rey's has proven themselves. They are always giving back to the community as well. West Sac or surrounding area - just call Rey's first.

Hmmmm. They use expensive AC capacitors…read more I picked out Rey's Air because it has a 4.9 Yelp rating. You can't always judge Yelp's rating by its cover. Our AC went on the blink yesterday. It's less than ten years old and is used minimally. The unit's interior house fan and exterior AC fan remained working but the compressor failed to engage. The air was not being chilled. I'm old. 76. I know that capacitors commonly fail and I have had them replaced over the years. Rey' Air quoted $79 to take a look. What could go wrong. On the positive side Rey's Air arrived promptly the next day. On the negative side, after about a half hour of perusing, the tech said that he determined that I likely have a bad capacitor. He recommended replacing it, or even upgrading to a better capacitor unit (for $200 "more") When I asked what the 'regular' capacitor replacement would be, he said $285. I hesitated. I said that's a lot for a capacitor. (Home Depot sells them for as little as $10 to $20 for the part). He said everything is expensive or something to that effect. I said okay. Let's just get it done. I did not want to go through more torment with another AC outfit. I said let's just go with the "cheaper chicken". Then the tech began adding. He said okay. "So that's 285 plus 79 (the show up fee). That's $364! (for a $10 part). I think I said 'yikes'. That is an 'expensive capacitor'. After a couple of minutes the tech relented agreeing to "only charge me" $285 for the half hour of looking (and five minute replacing). Bottom line: Fair price for fair service is all we ask. I see some gouging here. I understand that there are times when changing a capacitor's price should go up. As when there are hazardous or miserable conditions including problematic accessibility, or with lengthy or repeated driving times. None of that applied. Short drive. Open and shady and cool work space. If Rey's were to have charged $180 or even $200 for the tech's 30 minutes attendance, that would have been fair and profitable. Two star rating is best I can do. .

Two word review: Honest, Responsive…read more This is my THIRD consecutive 5-star review for Rocklin Heating & Air. In the last 10 or so years in the area I've called RHA, one other place because they could get me to faster - had a bad experience, waited for RHA had an amazing experience, and decided they're going to be my ride-or-die for HVAC. I called them at 7am and by 11:30am their tech had fixed and tested everything and off to help someone else. Yesterday was the start of a heat wave and ... our AC unit quit on us. I called RHA as soon as they opened this morning at 7am, asked for Joe in particular, and they gave me a window between 10am and 12pm. Joe texted ahead of time at 10:30, diagnosed the blown capacitor, swapped it out, cleaned things up a bit, tested the coolant, answered a bunch of questions, and was on his way in just under an hour. The diagnostic was $129 and the capacitor was $186 today. By a complete and total coincidence, I had been running some experiments with home temperature sensors for the last week. You can literally see on these pictures exactly when the AC unit stopped working - and when RHA saved our bacon. The "other" place I called years ago only had a $79 diagnostic charge, but wanted to rip out and replace the entire HVAC system - and claimed we were taking our lives in our own hands by not getting it fixed with him immediately. Joe and RHA took care of everything for the diagnostic. Yeah, you can probably find someplace to charge you less for the diagnostic or maybe less for the part, but when your house is boiling hot / freezing cold, you want to be able to call on someone you can trust to help you out - and not take you for a ride.

They were able to get someone scheduled immediately for the next day! So, earlier this morning, our technician (Frank) called with a heads up for his arrival and showed up right on time. Now our A/C is working great again!! Thank you so much! Glad I found you guys on Yelp!
