This past weekend July 1 2023, when we had over 100 degree weather, my AC stopped blowing cold air. It was the hottest day of the weekend yet I had to turn off our AC. The temperature went up to 89 degrees indoors. I called the emergency number for my property management company who referred me to an HVAC company who told me they could not fix my air until Monday. I was not able to wait until Monday since I am a senior with some medical issues. I then asked for another vendor and Vaughn's A/C came to the rescue! Aaron Vaughn went above and beyond to help us improve our home with a new HVAC system AND he corrected the inferior duct system that was installed in our North Natomas home in 2003 by D.R. Horton. The back of our house (master bedroom and bath) never had proper airflow and those rooms were always at least 10 degrees warmer or cooler than the rest of the house depending on the season. Our air conditioner went down in the middle of a stretch of several consecutive 100 degree days. We initially called a large company in the area and were told that we needed a new motor on our outdoor fan unit and the replacement cost would be $3,000 and the part was unavailable for 2-3 weeks. We were then pitched by the same big company on a completely new system that they said they could install the next day (at a cost of over $20,000). None of that sounded right to us so we sought a second opinion. We contacted Vaughn's and the owner, Aaron Vaughn, personally came out to analyze our situation. He identified the same fan motor as the issue. But the major difference was that his charge was $1,600 and he had access to the part within 3 days. Two days later, on a Sunday, he called me and told me the motor had arrived and he personally came out on that same day to install it. Problem solved and the air conditioning was back immediately. Vaughn's HVAC was referred to me by another AC contractor because our job site was out of his service area. We needed a 2-tons mini split AC installed in a concrete building. The owner Aaron had the best price out of several estimates we got for a very high efficiency model. On the date of installation, a crew of 4 people in 2 vans arrived on time before 8:30 am. Our project was more challenging due to the height of building, the thick concrete wall and metal beams in the attic. Aaron and his crews are detailed oriented and worked diligently to get the job done despite the unexpected thick wall and the metal beam. He was referred to me by my daughter who had know him for years. As always, it was really hot when one of my air conditioners stopped working. He was very busy, but came out on the weekend, very late in the day. I had already gone online and found the new unit I wanted at a local distributor. Whenever the temperature is 100+ degrees, everyone is hot including our dogs. Our A/C recently went out when the temperatures were about 105 degrees.
