Wow!! I've lived in Charleston for a few months and have tried a couple of the local favorites but Sorelle has really jumped to the top of my list of all time favorite restaurants. I was luckily ably to grab a reservation in their lounge area which was right by their bar and provided a wonderfully fun atmosphere. The service was impeccable - from the hostess greeting us promptly and politely while offering to take our jackets - to our waiter giving us expert advice on each and every menu offering. This dinner became a whole experience with incredible food included. We started with the pane and charcuterie board which included warmed olives, bruschetta, prosciutto, and a crisp piece of fried pasta in the place of bread or crackers. The fried pasta was definitely a different take and something i had never tried before but was so crispy and airy it was truly delicious. I would highly recommend the Pane as it was warm, light, flaky, and garlicky deliciousness! We also decided to try the caesar salad which had a fun twist of being broccolini instead of lettuce. My choice of entree was the pillows of gold which was lemony-sweet goodness filled with a ricotta type cheese. It truly was divine and just the right portion for us to share after the first three items. My husband and I and another couple went to Sorelle. We were really looking forward to it. It had been described to us as a fine dining restaurant. That is simply not the case. Shorts, tee shirts and flip flops are not fine dining apparel. The service was just okay. Not great not awful. I was unimpressed with the food. I had spaghetti with Bolognese. Very tiny portion served in a bowl with a dollop of ricotta cheese on it and sprinkled with deep fried ( almost burnt) zucchini chips. My husband's dinner, lasagna roll ups was served on a metal tray. The food presentation was not what you would expect at a fine dining restaurant. I will admit, the place is lovely. Kicking off my 2025 Yelp reviews with the last meal I ate out in 2024! We headed to Sorelle to celebrate Tracey's birthday on Sunday December 29th. This was a brunch visit. We were sat in the bar area that is super bright with natural light. I forgot our servers name, (super unique) and she was super friendly. She provided great service the entire time. For drinks I stuck with Prosecco. Normally I would have at least had a specialty cocktail, but I didn't find one that was for me. For food, we shared the burrata, prosciutto, lobster Benedict, Roman toast, and pillows of gold. I'm a stickler when it comes to seasoning and I felt like the tomatoes with the burrata would have popped more with S&P. The most seasoned thing I had was the spinach on the lobster Benedict. The eggs really needed S&P. My favorite bites of the day came from the pasta. Super delicious. So was the lobster. And finally the sweet Roman toast with the vanilla mascarpone and berries was soooo yummy. We had an amazing time and I would definitely go back. Tracey said we have to see the upstairs dining room. They do brunch on the weekends, but they also have the regular dinner at dinner time and the Mercato is also open (the line is really long, but goes by fast). I made a reservation just so we had a table secured, and didn't have to find somewhere else to eat. The wait for the server or the food didn't take long, and the staff was very friendly. The vibes were fancy enough, where you should dress your Sunday best. I ordered the prosciutto benedict, olive oil potatoes, pillows of gold, and a caffe latte. The total came out to be $85. The staff emphasizes on ensuring you have a great experience here, and always making sure you're enjoying yourself. The Sorrell is a beautiful restaurant! They do have a small parking lot across the street; however, we parked in the Queen street garage which is only a half a block away. We arrived a little early and was greeted immediately by a very nice hostess. We only had to wait about 5 minutes for our table to be ready. Then we were escorted upstairs to the dining room. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable. She took the time to explain the menu to us and each of the entrees as we had never been here before. We started our meal with the rucola e finocchio which is an arugula salad with shaved fennel, red sweet peppers and tossed in a vinaigrette dressing. It was very good! I had the swordfish as my main course and it was cooked perfectly and so decadent! I loved the brown butter and capers on it! My husband got the Rotolo Al Forno - Wood-Fired rolled pasta with provolone picante, rapini, and pork sugo. He shared a bite and it was delicious! He loved it too. We don't typically order dessert but we did this time. I got the olive oil cake and he got the chocolate custard. Both were delicious! The restaurant is accessible on all levels via an elevator or you can take the stairs. The bar area is very inviting and gorgeous. This is fine dining restaurant so be prepared, the prices are high; but, in line with other fine dining restaurants in Charleston. read more

My wife and I tried Sorelle for the first time on Father's Day. We arrived a little bit early about 10 minutes and had to wait. I'm always a little bit cautious with new businesses making me wait for my reservation when I arrive a little bit early especially when there's a lot of tables available. It doesn't always send the very best first impression. I was surprised how large the places and was seating all over. They put us along this wall with several other people. Well many of the tables behind us were open in the room a little odd but I've seen this type of set up before very common for the Charleston area. I understand it's for the convenience of the servers and that was probably their area but it's not very convenient for the guests. The people directly to our left were celebrating their 40th anniversary and I'm sure they didn't want us sitting 2 feet from them. That said, our server was very good, helpful and knew the menu well. The food was amazing and the ambience and building were beautiful. We will probably go back again, but will remember to request a table away from the main crowd. read more

Sorelle wears many hats, so look out for reviews that reflect the experience you desire. I came to Sorelle for a Michelin-recommended fine dining experience. We were immediately greeted with warm smiles and a sea of welcoming staff. We booked the chef experience menu ($124) with classic wine pairing ($99). I'll note that the prices reflect "full participation" e.g. if you want to book the wine pairing, or any complementi course, you must book for *all* members of the table. Through the chef menu and wine pairing experience, I felt spoiled to dine without lifting a finger or making a decision. Each course was memorable, my favorite being the antipasti: a bright arugula and fennel salad with lemon, and crudo di tonno. The attention and attention to detail from staff was what made this experience so special; Our high top table was decorated with a "Happy Anniversary" card sweetly signed by all of several staff. The host pulled out my chair for me. The sommelier shook our hands and thanked us for dining before serving us our first glass (but disappointingly swapped roles with another sommelier afterward without warning.) Our lovely server introduced us to each course and checked in on how we were doing. Various other staff served our dishes and wiped our table of crumbs after each course. Another server personally showed me to the restroom. Multiple staff wished us farewell upon our exit. I think my only wish was for our wine glasses to be removed from the table more quickly so our table felt less cramped. Our time at Sorelle will be solidified in our minds (and bellies) as one of the best fine dining experiences. We were more than happy to tip 25% and look forward to revisiting for a future anniversary! read more

This review is for their cafe. We stopped in on a weekday afternoon for a post-lunch pick me up. If we weren't so full, I would've tried one of their many delicious looking pastries. Their decor was a wonderful cross of burnt orange and sage greens but in Christmas/holiday wreaths and ribbons. I opted for their specialty cinnamon toast latte. I honestly found this experience underwhelming. I was super excited to try Sorelle after hearing all the hype for months. The service was honestly the worst part- I could barely understand the server and when we did ask questions he didn't seem to quite know the answers. I asked for more bread for my Burrata and it didn't come until our entrees showed up. When the entrees came the food runners looked down at our table and noticed nothing had been cleared... they sighed and turned around. The food didn't come back out for another 10 minutes meaning it sat under the heat lamps. My mom ordered another beer with her meal and it never came. The food was okay... we had the veal tagliatelle. It was cooked correctly but nothing to rave about. The aperol oysters were odd...I respect the creativity and I appreciate the chefs vision but I would not order them again. The Burrata was probably my favorite part- the honey crisp with the neutral Burrata taste was paired well. The sweet potato (or pumpkin I can't remember) Parmesan was okay, but again nothing to brag about. I will give them another chance because I do want to try the pillows of gold and maybe the service will be better. I think our waiter was either new or just having a bad day. read more

So 4 good dishes and one really bad one First, Sorelle is very elegant and modern in its design. The service is impeccable, and somehow, every staff member we passed knew it was the wife's birthday and her so. Our server Olivia, was friendly and helpful throughout the meal. Additional wait staff were there to remove a plate as soon as a dish was completed, and excess crumbs were swept off the table each time We started by splitting the Capesante Pan-Seared Diver Scallops main dish as our appetizer. These are easily the largest and perhaps the best Scallops we have ever enjoyed. The scallops were cooked to a perfect temperature, and the citrus was very light, and not overpowering. We also ordered the Pane, which is self-described in the menu as Sorelle's Bread Service, World's Best Olive Oil. The bread is delicious, but I am not sure why they think it is the Worlds best Olive Oil. Maybe out of the bottle it is the world's best, but we both like our dipping oil with seasoning, and this had little to none. OMG, who would have thought that a potato side dish could be so good, but that is what we got with the Patate dish. This was Olive Oil-Fried Potatoes, Rosemary, Castelmagno Italian cheese. The Potatoes themselves were amazingly crisp on the outside while being light on the in. The dish was just bursting with flavor. Personally, I am not a huge fan of Swordfish, but the pictures and reviews pushed me to order this dish. I liked that the fish was not cut overly thick which makes it hard to cook correctly, and I really enjoyed the brown butter sauce. The wife's Grouper dish is where things went wrong. The fish, while properly cooked, was grossly under seasoned, and the Braised Fennel, Caper Leaf Salsa Verde sauce totally overpowered the dish. I just don't get why you would serve such a bold (and frankly not very good), sauce over such a delegate fish like Grouper. You would think batting 800 is a great average, but since this was the wife's main dish on her birthday, it was a real downer for her. read more

The downstairs coffee cafe "Mercato" had a line out the door and I had to maneuver by the group to check in at the hostess stand in the hallway. Berk was fantastic! Took the time to walk us through the menu and recommend his favorites as it was our first time. Dining room upstairs is wonderful and the seating is so comfortable. I would recommend every dish we got that evening, but my two favorite were the Zucca Parmigiana and the Carpaccio Pizzette. We definitely over ordered but the service was paced and coursed fantastically thanks to Berk. Both cocktails I tried that evening were excellent, my favorite was the Galileo Gaze but the La Befana was the perfect compliment to our first course. Tables are wiped and silverware changed in between courses, and dishes are explained when being served. Food was stellar. Pumpkin Parmigian sounds weird, but it is super good.
