    Original Fried Rice with Chicken
    Eric N.

The staff were friendly and attentive from seating and then throughout the dinner service. The restaurant has a remodeled downstairs with new furniture. I did see an upstairs section, but wasn't sure if that was for private parties or regular seating. The AC was refreshing after coming in from the hot summer weather. They made sure we had fresh water and delivered food on time and in the right order. Started with drinks, they have a good beer selection and the mixed drinks (Mai Tai) are very nice. We had the Thai Shrimp Cakes as an appetizer. They were very tasty with the dipping sauce. The entrees were Sweet and Sour Tangy Delight Chicken, Green Curry with Beef, and the Original fried Rice with Chicken. Everybody was very happy with their dish. The comment on the sweet and sour chicken was that was the best they've had in Texas. The green curry was very well put together with nice coconut and lemongrass flavors and the good amount of spiciness. Everybody thought the fried rice was delicious. Overall, this is a a great Thai restaurant and in downtown Georgetown. I'll make sure to stop here again.

Happened to be in Georetown on Christmas Eve and saw this place just newly opened. So delighted to share that it is super tasty, and in the middle of Georgetown downtown. We had the tom yum soup, green and Massaman curry and mango sticky rice. I couldnt remember the last time I had Thai food that I really like in Austin so this was a great find. My husband loves Massaman curry and his last place that was as good was Sap's in S Austin. Their tom yum was piping hot, tangy and have a nice kick of heat. The mango sticky rice portion was huge - they gave us so much sticky rice I was rolling out of the restaurant. Their menu looks super interesting, not too long but just enough imo. Will def come back if I have the chance.

Georgetown desperately needed good Thai food, and Sorn Thai fills that gap! I'd say this is currently the best Thai option in town. While they don't include some last-mile ingredients that would make it A+ traditional, it's solid, well-executed, and does a good job bridging the Georgetown market to real Asian food. Highly recommend the papaya salad, Sorn rolls (they're definitely not just egg rolls), curries, pad krapow, and the sweet and tangy shrimp. Everything we tried was well-balanced and satisfying. The restaurant comes from the same owners as Seeda and Khon Thai in Austin, with several recipes inspired by the co-owner's mother, which shows in the depth of flavor. Great spot before walking Georgetown Square, grabbing drinks, or taking visiting friends. We went on a weekday when it's not so busy.

    Chicken satay

This place is excellent! 2nd time I have come here. Got chicken satay and green curry w chicken. Satay was really good, a bit sweeter than expected. Peanut sauce was pretty plain and didn't add much. Curry is so good, heavy basil flavor. Wish they would give you more rice. Restaurant seemed busy, I heard host ask someone if they had a reservation so maybe plan ahead. Will come back.

I got the Phad Thai, and it was so so good! Servings are very generous. I was left very impressed with the restaurant. Staff, food and ambience was great. I'll be coming back

I so was excited to see a new Thai spot on the square! Stopped in on a Thursday around 4:30. We were the only patrons dining in. A couple of transient people stopped in to ask for random things and one of the staff was very sweet to them but they made us a little nervous. First things I noticed was the water container, cups and silverware were all dirty looking. I tried to convince myself they were hard water stains. The spice tray and soy sauce came out and was also very dirty and had crusted residue on them. I'm such a stickler for these things. I think a quick daily wipe down of everything would elevate the dining experience, especially for the price of the plates. Now for the food. Thai tea - amazing 10/10 best one I've had. Yellow curry - 8/10. Pad Kee mao 8/10. Yum Naer 8/10. Egg rolls 7/10. I think I would definitely order for take out but don't think I'll dine in again anytime soon.

Great food, great service and a great spot in downtown Georgetown to spend with friends for dinner. Both the taste and the presentation of the food were excellent and would definitely come back to try other dishes we couldn't get this time. Tonight we had the shrimp cakes for appetizer, panang curry and ga prao for entrees, and mango sticky rice for dessert. The live music was a nice touch on a Friday night too. Oh and the cocktails were enjoyable!!!

I went in the Sorn Thai Kitchen for lunch with my husband and child. The restaurants ambiance looks like it would be really pretty at night. The service was friendly. I ordered a few appetizers. The brussels sprouts were wonderful. Awesome flavor cooked really well. The golden bags reminded me of a small Samosa. The sauce that came with it was awesome. The fresh spring rolls had lots of veggies, which is what I love. They forgot to add the vermicelli noodles to them, but that is on the menu. A spin on the cheese rolls was nice. They came out really hot and the dipping sauce is like honey. The pad Thai was our favorite thing that we ordered. We actually ordered it for our child, because they don't have a kids menu. It had an amazing flavor. I would totally order that again. This restaurant would also be great for take away/delivery.

As others have written, food very good, location great, ambience ok--kind of dark for daytime probably better at night. We went on a Thursday at about 2:45-3:00. They were open but probably should be closed to reset for dinner. Front of the house is still not smooth. Wanted a quick late lunch//not busy but still was a bit of a struggle to get a table, get the order placed, get the check, get to go bags. Will be back. Definitely highly recommend take away! Great preparations!

    Tom Ka soup

I've been here three times so far and have tried something different on each visit. My favorites on the menu are the Thai tea and the tom kha soup, both of which are consistently excellent. I've also ordered the green curry, Massaman curry, duck curry, pad Thai, pad see ew, egg rolls, and mango sticky rice, and overall the food quality has been solid with good variety across the menu. That said, the restaurant is still clearly new and working through some service kinks. Service could be more polished, and it would be a big improvement to automatically serve chili, chili oil, or Sriracha with meals instead of having to ask. I also wish chopsticks were provided by default rather than being given a fork every time. A few atmosphere notes: the jazz music doesn't quite fit the space, and the chairs are not very comfortable for longer meals. Overall, there's strong potential here with the food, but service consistency and a few operational and ambiance tweaks would make the experience much better.

Came here on a Saturday night around 5:30 and it was starting to get busy. The place has a nice warm and cozy vibe, but it's not that big so would recommend making a reservation. It's in downtown Georgetown and there is no dedicated parking lot so make sure to account for that. Since they are newer, service was a little slow in terms of taking our order, asking for boxes, bill etc. but everyone was very friendly! Now the food. Papaya salad was 10/10. So fresh and has a nice little kick. A good portion size too as we shared it amongst 3 people. Basil Thai fried rice was also solid and had so much flavor. We got pork as the meat. The panang beef was also delicious. Meat is so tender and curry is perfectly balanced and served with rice on the side. Pad kee maow was good, but not our favorite and could have done without it. Since the restaurant is smaller, it can get a little noisy but overall had a great time and excited to go back and try more of the menu. Great addition to Georgetown and will be our go to Thai takeout.

My husband and I are already interested after one visit in checking out pricing for possibly renting out the space for an event of our own. The cocktails are a little pricey for the area, but the venue space and the quality of the drinks were well worth the price. They actually have a quite expansive menu of drink options as well. Definitely needs more seating options for the drink window area if they plan on having more open hours days for people to randomly come in and enjoy a specially crafted drink. Went tonite for our weekly date nite; first visit to Georgie's though we've been in Georgetown…read moresince 2003. Saw the name when searching seafood here. The website mentioned reservations but accepting walk-ins also; my wife made a reservation for 8 at 7:40p, and that turned out well, as the couple in front of us hadn't done so & went out front to wait. We had a very attentive waitress, & sat on a raised stage by the window which was cool, but note: tall chairs there maybe not great for short legs. When she poured our water we didn't have to request, she left the carafe, which I supposed was a labor saving idea --until she came back repeatedly and refilled our glasses with it! It aided our date night that the two flat screens had artworks displayed not a basketball game or Chive videos of folks getting injured for 15 seconds of fame. Menu is in the upper middle price range for us but we did an easy work-around to get some upscale food, anyway:: We ordered a bowl of gumbo from the appetizer list, with two spoons; (yeah, been married 41 years)... Arrived perfect temp, not to hot to dig right in. The 6 crab claws broken to expose the meat were a nice touch we've never seen; we try everyone's gumbo: prolly the best we've had recently if ever. Continuing that theme, we shared the 14 oz Japanese style (name recipes me) new horn strip, truly too much for one normal appetite: the already flavorful tender steak was helped even more by a unique brown sauce with capers: and my Dad said a good steak doesn't NEED any help. Well, this steak was so good let's just say "the sauce was gravy." We like Brussels sprouts broiled; so my wife asked when ordering the steak, which comes with creamed sprouts, if they could be broiled: instead our waitress asked the chefs who actually flash fried them with salt and pepper, perfectly, with crunchy outer leaves & al dent inside. My wife ordered a 14.00 glass of Pinot noir; the cool wine glass was a generous size --and filled generously. We like the pretentious wine descriptions from the backs of bottles; bartender let us take a photo of the label but suggested the "vivino" app to get the lowdown on any wine. Finished off sharing the bread pudding with rum soaked yellow raisins, great flavor without excess sweetness, and thanked our waitress Katy.
