We just ordered for the first time from Sotto La Luna. The food was decent but I was taken aback after spending $95 on takeout and I asked for a side of ranch that not only did they want to charge me for but told me I had to pay cash because it was under a $10 purchase. Our meals were very tasty and I have provided the description of each dish in the photos attached Those nonna meatballs were melt in your mouth good... and that marinara ... I was hoping to take that away in a jar !!! Sensational food, service and ambiance. Owner (Jimmy) is the chef and he takes exceptional pride in the quality and presentation of each (and every) dish. Menu has so many choices, but not too much that you are left baffled. Homemade pasta is no joke. Delicious. We enjoyed the calamari and bruschetta appetizers. The freshness of tomatoes and cheese was honestly so delicious. The marinara with calamari was also so good! Great serving portions too! For our entrees, I had Seafood Marechiara over linguini ($34) which was loaded with clams, mussels, calamari, and shrimp in a beautiful tomato sauce. My husband enjoyed the Atlantic Salmon. ($30). Sauté was delicious. Sundried tomatoes, capers, and spinach. I tried his potatoes too, and the sauce they were in was so good! We were attended to frequently, but not too much, so we really enjoyed our time, and our BYOB Pinot Noir. If you have thought about going, but have not, gooooooooooo!!!! If a food place is gonna have random ingredients like mushrooms in their vodka sauce, it should probably say that on the menu. The pasta is mushy and the breaded chicken was hard and almost impossible to bite into. Terrible for a very expensive menu. read more

12 wings, 1 whole Philly cheesesteak w/fried onions (which was $2 more than two halfs) and chicken alfredo came to $99.38 ($75.50 in take-out food). I could have went to the Library and got 2 steak dinners for that price! $15.10 tip and a $3.78 service fee added to an on line order that I picked up. I hope the $18.88 tip was worth it because you'll never see me again. What exactly did you do to justify that tip or any tip for that matter? Must try this restaurant. Everything is homemade. The owner is the chef. I ordered Nonna's meatballs to go but will stop on my way to the beach next time. I took a different route avoiding tolls. He makes homemade pasta and gnocchi, soups, squash, mushroom etc. he opened in Jan and is a nice guy. read more

average. there were mushrooms in vodka sauce in my daughters spaghetti. assumed they add them but the other orders with vodka sauce do not have them. she can't eat mushrooms. wings were good. sauce otherwise was not bad. gnocchi was good but not much in order. Food was not good. Caesar salad was sour, tasted like old dressing. Chicken Francese was the worst piece of food I have ever put in my mouth. Chicken was rubbery, pasta disgusting. Calamari was definitely store bought frozen. Also flies were flying around our table nonstop. Our server went and did a delivery run in the middle of serving us. Will never be going back here again. We went to dinner on a cold Friday in January. Service was spot on. We brought wine. The glassware is stylish and chic- Crate&Barrel, same as the flatware- and the dining room is comfortable and well appointed. We brought wine. We ordered calamari and the mozzarella sticks for appetizers. Unfortunately, they were out of the calamari- which is understandable. All the food is fresh and made in-house. When things aren't frozen, you run out. It's ok; we'll get it next time. For entrees we had: gnocchi with vodka sauce, chicken Marsala, chicken Francese, and Eggplant Rollantini. All was delicious. Living in Cape May and traveling near the Seaville area this evening on business, my bride and I wanted to venture out for a new dining experience. We were delighted to come across Sotto La Luna, operating in just its first year. We both tried the homemade pasta dishes that were absolutely delectable with on demand fresh ingredients and generously portioned as well as moderately priced. Towards the end of the night, owner/chef Jimmy even came out and greeted us too. His personable demeanor and pride in his seasoned craft, should go along way to set his restaurant apart from many of the rest. read more

My family has dined here three times since the opening, the first time, was right when they opened and the food was pretty mediocre but ever since going back I regret my judgement and realize just what this place has to offer. The food is excellent and they make great dessert and sides, (I recommend the garlic knots and surprisingly unique fries along with the calzone), the service is great and we got our food pretty fast compared to a lot of places. Our First Visit to Sotto La Luna This was our first time dining at Sotto La Luna, a charming BYOB restaurant tucked away in a small strip mall in Ocean View, where Giuseppe's used to be. The dining area has been tastefully updated--spotless, cozy, and very inviting. We both ordered the chicken parm, and it was excellent. The chicken was tender and fresh, and the sauce was absolutely perfect--flavorful without being overpowering. Our waiter was personable and attentive, which really enhanced the overall experience. For dessert, we shared a delicious tiramisu--rich, creamy, and the perfect sweet ending to a great meal. What truly stood out was when Chef Jimmy came out of the kitchen to personally greet us and chat for a few minutes. That thoughtful gesture made us feel genuinely welcomed and appreciated. Heaven was our server .. & .. this being our first time there .. she made outstanding recommendations. Julianna assisted her .. & .. was very pleasant & diligent t in setting things up. As good a waitstaff as you'll ever find. Now .. the food experience. The marinara sauce with the arancini was a sweeter milder version of the marinara that came with dinner. It was spectacular .. & .. I couldn't wait to taste the other sauce that was served with our main courses. I ordered the calamari & gnocchi with the more heartier sauce. It was even better than Heaven had described. In fact, it was heavenly. Now for the gnocchi. If you enjoy gnocchi's then you'll love Jimmy's; the chef & owner of SOTTO LA LUNA. Gnocchi's as you may or not know means " little pillows " in Italian .. & .. these were certainly delicious little pillows. I placed a $75 order online for pickup. I asked my mom to see if they had honey mustard for the chicken fingers for my son when she picked up my order. She did and the a guy assisting her was extremely rude. He said you "didn't pay for honey mustard." She asked how much it was he said "I don't know you could have looked when you placed the order." She went out to the car to grab her money for the $1.50 side of honey mustard and he yells "I don't go to the grocery store and ask for things for free." Very uncalled for. She wasn't asking for anything for free. We just ran out of honey mustard and she was asking if they had this CONDIMENT for the food that I ordered. Gladly would have paid for it but did not need the condescending remarks. Here's a pic of the $15 chicken tenders and fries that did not warrant this behavior. It takes nothing to be kind, especially if you are running a business. Sucks that this had to happen because this was our second order this week from this place. Food is good. Love it here! Went last night and got a few items to share. We got the antipasta salad - so good and fresh. The chicken parm pizza, delicious and crispy crust! It's been a struggle to find a good Italian restaurant in this area. We were hoping that this would be a good one but our takeout was very mediocre. A house salad was large, but there was too much yellow lettuce. A meatball sub had good meatballs but not much sauce or cheese, and the bread wasn't great. I never write reviews, but this one got me in a bad mood. My chicken cheesesteak was good except the fact that I ordered a regular cheesesteak. I ordered a kids pasta, somehow ended up with a $20 bowl of old penne that tasted re-cooked. Complete waste. Also ordered a chicken Parm over spaghetti. Same thing with the spaghetti, tasted old and re-heated. Worst chicken Parm I've ever had in my life, tasted like it was days old and re cooked, tough and inedible, flavor tasted like old oil. Last night we had a birthday dinner celebration. We made reservations and asked if we could take a cake to which they agreed. Unfortunately, we were charged $21 for 7 slices of OUR cake.
