Came here when my first choice nearby was closed for the day. I'd heard a ton of good things about…read moretheir other location, of course, and meant to go eventually but forgot this one was here. Tiny, carryout only, though there are a couple of tables to sit while you wait or maybe to eat a quick lunch. Super friendly staff. Fairly short menu; all the good stuff. I wasn't famished and didn't want to wait for chicken or fish, so I got an assortment of sides thinking that would be quicker. They fried up the okra right then, though, and had a steady stream of pickup orders coming through the door, so it still took 10-15 minutes. It was okay, though, smelling the amazing scents coming from the kitchen, talking to the staff and customers. I hadn't noticed they have ribs (just a picture, not on the menu) so I might've ordered those. Oh well. $20 I think, or they do combos with sides or fish and sides. Anyway. I got fried okra, and it was a big portion and absolutely amazing. No need for any sauces, tasty on its own. Perfectly crisp. Baked beans: my style, sauce so thick you can eat them with a fork. Slightly sweet, mostly savory, very good. Greens (collards) with turkey: outstanding. Tender but not floppy, nicely seasoned. Cornbread: soft, sweet, crumbly, topped with butter. Yum. Geechee rice: seasoned, bacon and sausage, very good. And black-eyed pea salad. I like black-eyed peas but had never had them in a salad. These were great: plump, with bits of tomato and cucumber and onion, in a vinegary dressing. Again, yum. Enough food for two meals. They gave me the side plate special, three sides and cornbread, which helped with the price. I was headed home and not thirsty so I didn't get a drink, but based on conversations with other customers I missed out on the lemonade and sweet tea. I'll be back for those and maybe a rib-fish combo. And to try the mac. Get here if you can!

They have family photos inside that helped give their space a cozy vibe. It's not big enough to dine in but there's some tables available if you want to wait on your order. I tried the fish and chicken plate with macaroni and greens...a win! I could tell by how hot the plate was when I got it that it was gonna be good. The greens were well seasoned and the mac was nice and cheesy. Excited to have found this place.

Stopped in today to pick up lunch after early voting on Morse Rd. The young lady who took my order…read morewas very professional and kind. Into the food: I got the shrimp and chicken wing combo that comes with fries and coleslaw. I got my meal to go because I didn't feel comfortable sitting in the dining room that had a covered motorcycle adjacent to the eating area! I went to the bathroom to wash my hands. it was not very inviting for a restaurant bathroom. I'll leave that there. Now for the food... The wings 10 out of 10. Coleslaw 6 out of 10. I didn't eat the bread that comes with the meal. The shrimp was good, but the fries definitely seemed like they were leftover from earlier... not fresh at all. Other things that I think they could work on maybe hire a student from CCAD to condense that monstrous menu. I didn't know where to look to find what I really wanted, but found it on the whiteboard. Maybe get some packets of mustard l, ketchup, hot sauce and tartar sauce for to go orders. Have your forks wrapped in a napkin for to go orders.

Come on Lawsheas, you really can't be trying very hard especially when I have gotten really good…read morefood there before. I ordered pork chops with baked beans and coleslaw. I also ordered Boston Blue fish sandwich. My wife ordered ribtips, mashed potatoes and baked. None of the sides were edible. The baked beans would have been better if they had come straight out of the can. I wa afraid to eat much of the coleslaw because it was warm. When the crust flakes off of the fish, I don't want it because it's showing me someone's does not know how to batter fish. My wife said that the pound cake was not done. There was no firmness to the sweet potatoes pie! I really want to support you but the only thing served properly was the pork chops and the rib tips. They were delicious. I know that youbcan do better because you have done better. Disappointed!!!

Man, we were fresh into Columbus on a very hot and sticky day and needed a covered outdoor patio…read morefor us - and Puppy . We saw this spot and decided to hit them up for a din-din and beer on this auspicious late afternoon. We were seated and they quickly brought out a menu - including one for our pup! How cool was that? I ordered their house lager- hubby ordered chicken Caesar salad- I got chicken tenders and waffles for me with fried okra for the table- puppy got a whole chicken breast- nice! Ok the taste - I'm not a huge okra fan. But these fried little morsels were spiced up and hit the spot- hubby loved his salad while I munched down my chicken and waffles like - you know - stat! And the service was great- definitely was awesome. If you want a little taste of the south? Check this place out?

This was my first time to this location of Tupelo Honey. I had been to the original in Asheville,…read moreNC, but even then, it had been quite some time. The atmosphere was modern with a southern twist. I'm not going to lie, I chuckled a bit when I noticed my water glass said "Bless Your Heart". In Appalachian culture, this is actually an insult. We had a large group, but the service was excellent. Very friendly, attentive, and everything was brought out timely and correctly. My food was really good! It was brunch time so I had coffee, the "Mimosa of the Moment" which was an apple cinnamon, a biscuit with blueberry preserves, and the Southern Shakshouka. All were fantastic and I would definitely get again. I also thought the price was affordable for the quantity.
