Great good and great service! Food quality was really good-- not salty or too much sugar. Perfect seasoning and appropriately priced.

There is ample indoor seating with even more on the outdoor patio overlooking the city. The atmosphere is what you'd expect for a BBQ restaurant and there were classic 80s tunes filling the air. The service was fast and friendly. The fall off-the-bone BBQ ribs were some of the best I've had and were fine even without sauce. Speaking of, there were multiple sauces available. These are not your typical thick molasses based sauce, most featured vinegar as the main flavor. I thought this very unique and very good. My favorite was the Great Sauce - combo of habanero, onion and vinegar. My ribs were accompanied by basic but flavorful pintos adorned with onions and parsley and cornbread with real chunks of corn baked in. An added touch was the warm moist towel at the end of the meal. And to even make things fun, the provide cabbage to feed the resident goats!

The Mac and cheese and the beans needed seasoning. Both were bland. There is no reason for the sides to lack seasoning at a BBQ restaurant. The restaurant is always clean, and feeding the goats after eating is always a nice ending to end a meal.

Inside it's ani eclectic array of old license plates, dollar bills on the walls and overall fun to sweep your eyes around the room. The chicken is moist, flavorful and just plain delicious!! Service was quick but we weren't in a hurry. My husband & I ordered the 8 piece family, 1/2 thighs, 1/2 legs, with fries & coleslaw. My husband had the chicken, sausage gumbo.... He rates it right on top of the best he's has tasted. I would say.... defined and good place to stop, with family, friends or whatever reason you can think up. Just stop and enjoy yourself with good food.

Highlight of the drive. For the first time, today was different. The very friendly young women who first greeted us and guided us through the menu years ago are gone. In their place are unfriendly young ladies who would far prefer to chat with each other than provide even acceptable-level service. We were tolerated, not welcomed or even checked on to see if we wanted anything. I waited and waited for her to notice me at about ten feet away as I waved my empty beer can in hopes of getting a second one. Finally I had to interrupt the conversation between the waitresses by raising my voice above their conversation, "excuse me, may I have another?" Again, we were there early today. Just before 5:00 PM. That is how timing works when you are on the road. So the place was nearly empty. They weren't busy with customers. They were busy chatting amongst themselves. As we completed our fried chicken (still very good), she came by and did not ask if we wanted anything else but simply said "ready for the check?" It was a way to make us feel like we needed to leave. To add insult to injury, we passed by the hostess table outside on our way to the car as we left and we happened to pass between two Champy's young female employees chatting at the hostess station and blocking the way out. We had to say "excuse me" and walk between then as they kept talking to each other. Never did they bother to say "thanks for coming, please come back soon." So maybe after all this time...we won't.

The first time we had a great server. She explained everything. There was a saxophonist playing. It was nice. Also tried the house wine and got a tour of the area's north yet opened. Parking is always a challenge because the lot next to them only allows them 3-4 spots. The last two times, the entire space was open including outside. There was security which I have no complaints about that. Servers have been consistently nice. However the last time, the kitchen was backed up so much that you had to wait 45 minutes before you could order food. That told me that they weren't prepared for heavy traffic. The second time there was a singer there , Chelsea, Who? She was really good. The last time there was no music or talent there. I had each time the chicken and waffles with grits. Not much else I can eat since I don't eat beef or pork and sadly allergic to fish. I can do sides if need be. The food is really good. Love the waffles as they don't need syrup or anything. The chicken is light and full of flavor as well. I like the spot. Hope there are more menu items for the non red meat eaters. The food is yummy. Servers are great. Will be back with more people. .

FYI, this is a food truck of sorts, so check out their Facebook page to see where they're located (Thurs-Sun). I got an oxtail plate with rice, greens and yams and a beef rib plate with greens and Mac n cheese (they doused my ribs with bbq sauce before I left--mmm!). Obviously that's too much food for one person, so when I came home I ate a couple ribs and a bite of everything else. Ribs and oxtail both succulent, juicy, and well seasoned; rice was covered in oxtail gravy (as it should be); yams were very good and the perfect amount of sweet; Mac n cheese was good, but I probably won't get it again (in general, mac n cheese is too heavy for me if I'm eating red meat as well. I wanna save my stomach space for meat!); greens were also well seasoned, not too salty. Two-person operation (at least on the day I went), very nice customer service and they take very good care with your food. Cash or cashapp only. Pay 'em a visit!

(could NOT put it down) Best BBQ I've had in years... no exaggeration. Absolutely some of the best I've ever tasted. The people were VERY friendly, and definitely knew their business. Reminded me of the real Caribbean BBQ from the islands. (not the stuff they feed the tourists) Please, treat yourself to this food, and this unique BBQ experience the first chance you get, and support this local business.
