The establishment boasts an aesthetically chic interior, anchored by "marble" tables that, while regrettably small, contribute to an atmosphere of modern cleanliness. This commitment to hygiene is not merely a feeling; it is a matter of public record, as evidenced by their impeccable 100.0 sanitation rating. However, a critic knows that a clean house does not always guarantee a feast. The kitchen was manned by a skeleton crew of only two workers, while a third handled the front register--a staffing reality that telegraphed an inevitable wait from the moment of entry. While waiting, my gaze was frequently drawn to the refrigerator behind the counter, where large, tempting slices of red velvet cake stood like alluring sirens. The meal itself was a study in contradictions. The fries were a standout: fried to a structural crisp and dusted with a unique seasoning that provided a sophisticated "tang". Unfortunately, the Mozzarella Sticks failed to reach such heights... $7.99 for six, they were decidedly mediocre and hardly worth the price point, accompanied by a measly two-ounce cup of marinara sauce. The true tragedy, however, lay in the wings. While the portion sizes were undeniably generous, boasting an impressive amount of flats, the sauce was a disappointment. As the visual evidence confirms, the sauce lacked emulsification, leaving the wing to languish in a pool of separated oil. This scarcity extended to the condiments: I was provided only a single two-ounce cup of ranch to split between seven wings, a mountain of fries, and six pieces of celery. The Verdict: Chex's Grill & Wings is a place of diligent effort: I observed the front-counter worker spending their downtime meticulously tidying the lobby. Yet, for all its cleanliness and five large-screen distractions, the culinary execution remains inconsistent. It is a masterclass in visual presentation, but it requires more depth in the sauce and a bit more generosity in the portioning of its sauces. Rating: 3/5 Stars

Of the ten patrons inside when we arrived, they all seemed to know each other. Thankfully, this didn't sway us one way or the other. We sat near the door, and I asked the bartender to turn on the game, which she did. Turns out the game wasn't on that channel, but I didn't want to disturb her conversation with the locals. Our waitress mentioned she was fairly new. She was attentive but kept forgetting things. I ordered the "must-have" Bessemer City Buzzard on a Stick, which is about half of a chicken breast seasoned and baked on a stick. The chicken wasn't as dry as I expected, but it also lacked flavor, and I had to pay $1 for sweet chili sauce to dip it in (3/5). The corn nuggets were nice and hot, and I enjoyed them (5/5). Note: I saw a couple of references to "redneck" while visiting, and I would characterize this place as a local redneck hangout.

It is typically loud in this establishment and when you call in an order during the afternoon or evening, you have to speak loud over the phone so they can hear you. I have ordered from them several times, but the wings are pretty pricey, so I don't go that much. However, they do offer wing discounts two days out the week. . Lastly, I really like their salads too!

We were seated as a party of 5 at a long booth and ordered some flavored lemonades (strawberry and raspberry) and water. For appetizer, we got the onion rings. Our waitress was nice and friendly, seemed a little overwhelmed but I can imagine it was a long and busy day. For entrees we ordered a variety of pot pies, spasagna (spaghetti+lasagna), and chicken tenders. We had a long day out in the heat and were all very hungry so our meals hit the spot. The portions were hearty so some of us did have leftovers. Pricewise this place is hard to beat- cocktails under $10, entrees under $20 and they deliver on flavor. A few of the friends had never been here before and were pleasantly surprised, one of them thought it would be like TGIF and I explains that it was a little nicer in decor/ambience and service. There is a decent outdoor patio area with plenty of seating and ample parking available. @azfitfoodfun

One thing I love about Cheddar's is the portion of food for the price - I think it's a great deal! I ordered the Lemon Pepper Chicken on a bed of rice with Southern Green Beans that melt in your mouth & a side Caesar Salad for a small up charge. I had a whole chicken breast & rice leftover for the next day. My friends ordered different Salmon dishes & they ate everything. The menu is a good variety & there's plenty of seating for couples up to larger groups.
