We actually had the food truck for a community event this weekend. From the scheduling to the execution of the event, everything went very well. The food truck arrived and they set up quickly and efficiently. Yes, you could smell the wonderful grill going and the food did not disappoint. We had the bone-in chicken and pulled pork and it was tender and good! We had mac n chees, baked beans and brunswick stew, as our sides and they were also delish! Edee himself, was out at our event and he was kind, pleasant and efficient. (BTW, thank you for your service ~ Semper Fi!). His crew "D" and Tammy were pleasant and just wonderful to work with. I knew before taking one bite that I was going to like this place. I hadn't been on Harbins Road in quite some time, so it took me a little by surprise to see the once abandoned building that used to be a 1950's gas station open as a minimart. What surprised me even more was the trailer parked on the side selling BBQ! But the biggest surprise was experienced by my wife who knows how crazy picky I am about BBQ. "Seriously, you're going to turn the car around to try BBQ at a place you haven't yelped?" she asked. YUP!!!! The time was almost 7pm, which would have made this dark if we hadn't just went through a 'Spring Forward' weekend. The owner immediately apologized and informed me he was out of ribs, but allowed me to sample his pulled pork and chopped chicken. After looking over his menu board my eyes were drawn in by the words RIB TIPS. "I can't believe you have rib tips on your menu!" I exclaimed. "We sure do, where are you from?" he asked. "Chicago, where rib tips are a staple item on all true BBQ restaurant menus." Ironically one of his regular customers (who also happened to be from Chicago) walked up during this exchange and joined in with a little spirited banter of her own. We compared notes of our favorite Chicago BBQ restaurants and found we were in complete agreement. So why did I say I knew I was going to like this place even before I tasted the food? Well, before handing me a generous portion of sample meats, he insisted I try them WITHOUT the sauce. How did he know I prefer to taste BBQ that way? That is practically my BBQ pledge of honor: ----- I pledge allegiance, to the taste, of pork spare ribs everywhere! And to the smoky goodness, for which they stand, unsauced, with tenderness, and well-seasoned flavor for all! ----- Satisfied with the flavor, it was only then he revealed to me there were just a few tips remaining from earlier in the day. He removed them from hiding in a thermal container wrapped snuggly in Reynold's aluminum foil. I took them home along with homemade mac n' cheese and baked beans as my sides. I reheated them in the microwave for 2 minutes on 40% power. The rib tips and sides were so much better than I expected. So good in fact that I returned the following day for more of the same. The chopped chicken and pulled pork here are good, but the ribs and rib tips are my recommendation! The mac n' cheese is old school, kinda like my mom makes but with less seasoning. The baked beans have a cinnamon flavor that I've never experienced before, but really enjoyed. The owner assured me his meats are always ready by noon (Thursday through Sunday) and he remains until he sells out. If you are in the area and crave good BBQ, it would be worth your while to stop. I typically don't write reviews on roadside businesses because they tend to be fly by night establishments. Here one day and gone the next. Welp, Yelp. This is an ordinary, at best, barbecue stand. We finally got to try them today and before I blather on, I will say, I don't know if we'll bother them again. We definitely won't use it as a destination type barbecue purveyor. And they're in the neighborhood. The quality of the food is good. The method they use to quantify the amount of food they present you is sorry, at best. The customer service was bland, borderline....sullen. Maybe, they were having a bad day. And I spent almost $100 for a selection of items. The easiest way for me to present our experience is through pros and cons. And here we go.... PROS: 1. Some of the best chopped pork, we've ever had. It was the perfect blend of fat to lean, moist, smokey and no cartilage, gristle or bone. 2. The ribs were fairly meaty, cooked very well and slightly smokey. You could see a definite smoke line. The seasoning was decent. 3. The Brunswick Stew had discernable components. It didn't look like a can of mushed up dog food with corn kernels in it. I usually don't care for Brunswick Stew, but I liked this. It is fairly spicey. I liked that. 4. The hot barbecue sauce was much better than the regular. It still tasted like anything you can grab off a shelf at the store. CONS: 1. Questionable way they decide what is a serving size. I paid TWENTY DOLLARS for 3/4 of a Styrofoam lunch box of chopped pork. I'm trying to post a picture. They were verrrry evasive when asked to quantify by weight, the amount of meat that you receive. Evasive....almost indignant. I wonder if this varies from customer to customer. 2. I've never, in decades, been to a barbecue joint where the cooks so purposefully and diligently AVOIDED talking with the customers. I'm a very gregarious type and these people just would not talk to me. And they weren't busy. I felt like I was an annoyance the whole time I was dropping a C note there. 3. The Cole Slaw was little more than pre-packaged, shredded cabbages and carrots, doused in sugar water. The container was barely 3/4 full. Now that I think of it........we won't be going back. They need to work on customer interaction and actually sell you their product based on genuine weights and measurements. read more

This used to be run from a trailer outside of the gas station. Now they've opened up a real restaurant. The barbecue was great. The sides are pretty good too. One of the things that stands out at this establishment are the ribs. You don't find ribs like this at most restaurants in a suburban area. Very tender ribs that are smoked right. Yumm! My company brought Edee's in to cater an event and the BBQ, ribs, and Mac n cheese were awesome. The sauce was just right and the BBQ was not fatty. The ribs were falling off the bone and had a smoke flavor. The mac n cheese was very thick and super cheesy. I also had the green beans which came with white potatoes and they were good. Yesssss. I heard about this place on here, actually. When I saw it was 15 minutes from home, I knew where I was going for lunch. This spot is located in the parking lot of a Mini Mart, literally. And when I'd arrived around 1, there were already 3 people ahead of me. I waited about ~7 minutes before placing my order. The menu is strictly BBQ-esque: ribs, rib tips, smoked chicken, pulled pork sandwiches and dinner plates. Dinner plates come with 2 sides. Options for sides are baked beans, Mac and cheese, green beans and Cole slaw. Also can order mini cakes: lemon pound cake, red velvet, chocolate or key lime. After I ordered (two plates of ribs, one with Cole slaw and baked beans, other with baked beans and green beans), I waited in the warm sun for about 15 minutes. He prepared, smoked, does all the real BBQing behind the food truck/stand. Look around and see he has a tent and a pit. It goes down. When I got home, I went for the baked beans first. Omg. Omg. I don't really care for baked beans but they're drenched in a brown sugary, molassesy situation. The Cole slaw was meh but I don't really like Cole slaw anyway. But the ribs. Babyyyyy, these ribs were almost smoked and prepared by God Himself. They were extremely moist and tender. The mild sauce was almost as good as my grandfather's (always gotta have someone to compare it to, right). I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and for $34, I say it wasn't bad. Cash only place, though so bring your change. Or go across the street to the Dollar General and buy gum and ask for $20 back. Also, call ahead to see if he has any sides/plates you're interested in. Went in optimistic due to the other reviews. Got three dinners to go but the side for one of the dinners was MIA when we got home. This is a pretty big strike to start with. If I remember correctly, a full rack of ribs is $25. Apparently this is a bit high, especially for a roadside stand. I suppose if you eat a lot of ribs you can judge that for yourself. I think the point that will bother most people is that they don't do BBQ by the pound. They say "We don't have a scale but tell us how many people you want to feed and we'll tell you how much." Their quote for 6 people was $30. That seems a little high but, of course, you have no idea how much it actually is. Perhaps they are doing this to avoid A to B shopping but, considering both our party and the only other party present had the same question and reservations, it seems like it would be a good idea to invest in a scale. We tried the rib dinner, rib tips dinner, and pulled pork pork. All are supposed to come with two sides but, as mentioned, one side didn't make it. The best of the bunch was the pulled pork ($10). It was smoky, moist, flavorful and not overdressed. It came with a bun top and bottom. Unfortunately, the rib tips ($12) were just inedibly salty, which I mean quite literally as I stopped halfway through even after trying to eat them on bread to offset the salt. This is too bad as they were a flavorful and smoky otherwise. The serving size was not stingy. I didn't try the ribs but my father wasn't too impressed. He claimed that the ribs were too big and they were using old hogs because they were cheap. Make of that what you will, I have no opinion on it. The Brunswick stew--which we opted for in two of the dinners--was bland and unimpressive. First, it wasn't smoky and tasted mostly like canned tomatoes that hadn't been cooked for very long to marry the flavors. One of the two cole slaws made it but it was bland enough that no one really missed the other one. The mac and cheese was fine. My father said of the baked beans that they should be called "bean cake" because of how sweet they are. Again, I didn't try them so take that with a grain of salt (if the rest of the meal hasn't far exceeded your sodium intake for the day). The woman working the window was friendly and helpful (but, of course, she forgot a side). The guy cooking didn't interact with us. I won't be back personally (I'm only around a few weeks out of the year) but with slightly lower prices and slightly more attention to detail it could be good. read more

This BBQ is awesome. The meat is always delicious but I have to admit I'm judgy about the sides at a BBQ place cause that's where I see the lack of care in a meat oriented restaurant. This does not fall short :) I've had all their sides and their mac n cheese is delicious, the other sides very good as well. This place is extremely over priced. Service was slow food was over cook. It had very little flavor they up charge for the mac and cheese as well as the Brunswick stew. Me and a friend went there for lunch today got our orders to go. It turns out they gave him rib tips they gave me ribs the only side that was decent was the mac and cheese the Brunswick Stew was more like vegetable soup. I read the reviews on this place before I went there was highly disappointed I've had barbecue from all over the southeast. I highly doubt I'll ever eat there again read more

I took my Mom there for an early Mothers Day lunch. She got the half chicken and absolutely loved it. The meat was falling off the bone. The baked potatoes were huge and piping hot. This restaurant is by far my new must have BBQ! The food was absolutely delicious! I tried the rib tip sandwich as well as a plate of chicken, not to mention the mac and cheese (soooo good!) This BBQ place tops my list for some of the best ribs in the Greater Atlanta area. Due to this being a small, local establishment, the chef has the time to pay meticulous attention to his prep, smoke and serve method. Everything is fresh off the grill, cleanly wrapped in foil and kept warm until an order is placed at the front window. Unlike mainstream restaurants that finish off their meats well in advance and then reheat the food, usually resulting in a luke warm meal, one bite of these succulent ribs will tell you that you're getting this meal as it comes off the grill. The front counter lady is friendly and competent. For anyone who likes their ribs tender to fall off the bone tender with a fantastic flavor, this place is worth the drive. First visit to Edee's BBQ in Dacula, GA. Saturday, about 11:30 AM. Great first impression, super friendly staff, clean, well decorated. Fresh blueberry mini muffins on the table immediately. When I asked about collard greens, I was offered a sample! Our food came out fast. We ordered chicken plate and the pork sandwich. Plate was $1 more with two sides instead of one, but otherwise portions were the same and both came with a hamburger bun on the side. We had green beans, cole slaw, baked beans. I thought the green beans tasted too much like the collards, like they were cooked in the same pot of water, and I did not like them. Cole slaw was good, baked beans had a hint of honey and cinnamon. I liked them, hubby not so much. Both meats were smoked, pulled, tender, and a good 2 cup serving. Enough for two sandwiches each, easily. We took half home. We liked the mild BBQ sauce that was on the table, but the meat was actually delicious without it. The highlight was the made in-house Key Lime Cake. $5, large serving. I actually didn't get a chance taste the food. Because the poor lady up front taking orders was sooo overwhelmed I just left. The bad thing is, is that it was only 3 or 4 people placing or picking up orders and she was all over the place. Best Barbecue I've had in a long time. Had our family in from PA over the 4th. One of their kids had never had barbecue before...she literally had 4 helpings! The ribs are fall off the bone meaty and the sauces were great tasting. Everyone's favorite side was the Mac and Cheese. However, my personal favorite was the Cole Slaw. I have had the baked beans before at another function and those are as good as my homemade. We finished off the leftovers the next day and they were just as good. Everytime I have eaten here I have had great service and awesome food! Edee's is always on point with the BBQ Chicken,and the sauce is very good. But don't take my word for it.... TRY IT YOURSELF! Edee's Place was selling BBQ at Sterling on the Lake this past Saturday! Amazing! I went back twice (ok, technically 3 times). First off I ordered the ribs with baked beans and mac & cheese. The ribs were so tender and tasty that I didn't bother with sauce. I usually find spareribs can be a little dry, but not these! Also, they weren't over seasoned (I hate it when you have to eat thru the dry rub to get to the meat).......incredible is the only word to describe!!!! The beans melted in my mouth! The taste of brown sugar was delectable! The mac & cheese was without a doubt the best mac & cheese I've ever had.....heaven! After a few hours I went back for the pulled pork and coleslaw. Wow.....so good! After the concert was over and as they were closing up shop, I went back and bought a whole rack of ribs for lunch on Sunday! I should have bought two.
