Tried the chicken and waffles and the pulled chicken sandwich both were excellent. The chicken sandwich is really the champ here with cheese and Alabama white sauce really makes it special. Prices were even better. Drink choices are lemonade, iced tea, caned drinks and purple (rain) coolaid. It's a small room with three tables. Comfortable clean and well air conditioned. Take out to Singing river brewery, 1/2 block away, seems like a popular choice. They also have some R&B vinyl for sale. Great selection of old school R&B music playing made it even better. I planned on taking pictures, but this food seriously is so good I couldn't wait. I got the boneless wings combo with Nashville Hot flavoring and it was amazing. Driving home I could literally smell the different flavors in the sauce and especially the spice in it. I can't even express how amazing this places food is. I have been coming to Soul for the past 3 years and I have never once been disappointed with the food. The chicken fingers are always perfectly crisp and you can tell they are hand breaded. All the food is cooked fresh so it may take a little longer to get your food but it is definitely worth it. For the price as well you get full from the meal and it's always delicious. If you haven't been here you've been missing out. Walking in you're met with some really chill tunes, and the warmest of smiles. The menu board is on your right (beside the home made lemonaid, which is a must any day in my book) and it has a solid selection of great items. The pulled chicken sandwich was to die for, and the home made white sauce is ON POINT! the fried green tomatoes are hand cornmeal battered, and they're really good too. They make all dressings and dips in house besides the ketchup. I'll be back to try everything else on this menu for sure. read more

We are so happy we stopped here. It was our favorite place in the area. We enjoyed two great chicken salads and a fried green tomato BLT. All was cooked fresh and tasted great. Best of all, by the time we left we had met the whole family that runs the place and got to sample some wings from Uncle Trent's own plate. If you want to experience Southern hospitality, great food and amazing music at very reasonable prices, this is the place to go. read more

Wow. Just tried out this new gem and we are fans. Just a small storefront and three tables make it easy to miss but it's worth finding. Their small menu allows them do do what they do and do it well. It isn't fast food. Every order is made hot and fresh so when you get your friend green tomatoes don't expect some soggy flour covered floppy disc. An order contains five slices covered in corn meal and fresh herbs with a side of cajun ranch and really really good. I asked for a small side of the garlic herb sauce for dipping as well and it matched up well. We also got an order of 6 wings and a chicken tenders snack. The wings, oh the wings... Served whole and topped with your choice of sauces the ones I got were cooked perfectly. Forget that breading, these were fried naked and then covered in Cajun ranch and a sprinkling of parsley. Perfect! My wife had the tenders with buffalo sauce and really enjoyed them. Not frozen tenders from a bag, these were hand breaded and again cooked perfectly. Finally, we topped it off with a home made lemon bars and left full and satisfied. Great new place and we will be back! read more
