Great workout, environment could be considered intimidating and slightly unwelcoming toward newcomers!

I've never taken a class and feel a bit intimidated by Soul Cycle. Is is very difficult to get through the 45 minutes? I work out 2-3 times a week so I am not sure if I have the stamina. Thanks

You should be fine. Most instructors will inform new riders to do only what they can and sit whenever they need to. Don't be compelled to do every move or keep up with advanced riders in your first class. If you can, do it otherwise no one will… Read more

Absolutely love ripped ride!…read more Nadine, the spin instructor is not only great at what she does, but she fills the room with so many positive vibes. She knows every single person's name who is partaking in her class and hypes up everybody as they're involved in the work out, chanting and cheering us on- screaming our names to motivate and push us to keep going. Her classes are an hour long, and she always starts right on time and ends right on time. The music we ride to is very mixed from old school soft rock, to top 40, to country . I absolutely love that Ripped Ride encourages "theme spins" meaning that around Christmas you can wear your Santa hat and definitely look forward to Christmas tunes, or for Halloween you could wear some type of festive costume piece; whatever the occasion- you can celebrate at Ripped Ride. Nadine even did a Wedding Spin class dedicated to one of her weekly participants who happened to be getting married that day. It was very cute and very thoughtful. My favorite thing about Ripped Ride is that it truly is a judgment free zone. You don't walk in and feel like you're in competition with anyone nor do you feel like you need to look a or act a certain way. You can give it your all, no matter what level your "all" happens to be. Guaranteed you will leave Ripped Ride feeling better than when you first walked in!

One month at Orangetheory and I'm loving it! Amazing HIIT classes!…read more Location: the gym is located at Main St, Tuckahoe rd. The gym itself is very clean and well maintained. Two showers and two restroom with amenities. There is parking at the back of the gym but it is first come first serve basis! Coaches and employees: most of the coaches that I attended so far are great. They motivate me and guide me through the workouts. Front desk were also nice and approachable. There is just one instance yesterday when I had my class. I came early and assigned myself for floor and number 5. I saw the list and it was just me on the list since I came early. I went inside the class sat on the rower number 5 and did my rowing. There is a woman not sure if she is the manager telling me "Mark, you are not there" I said "excuse me?" She said "you are Mark right? You are not there you are number 6" I politely said "oh ok I am sorry". I sat down on the rower number 6. And as soon as I did my rower a woman sat down on number 5 and her boyfriend on number 4. Now I know why she moved me. I certainly accepts if they will ask me to move, I am okay with it but telling me that I am on the wrong sit when in the first place you switch me is not right. It just turn me off and didn't enjoy yesterday's class. Class: the class in each sessions are different. I personally love 3G classes than 2G. The classes are very difficult but I always try to do it because I want to get my money's worth. Price: currently i'm paying $129 for 8 classes a month. For me it is not bad. I recommend orangetheory. Maybe I will try other locations.

My instructor was very nice (Jill) but it felt very rushed especially for a new student coming into the a barre studio for the first time. At the end of the class Jill and the desk person tries to pressure you to buy more classes, which is super annoying. I just took my second class today hoping it would be more organized and paced well. I signed up for a 5:30 class and showed up exactly at 5:30. When I walked in the class had just begun, but the front desk woman reprimanded me and said with an attitude that if I was going to be late I should have called ahead and that people my age seem to always be late to everything... BIG turn off. The class was just okay. The pace is rushed, and it feels like the instructor is just trying to get you to do as many combination of movements as possible in 45 minutes. The class was also jam packed, there was not enough room for everyone, they should definitely make a maximum guest policy to avoid this. Won't be coming back. Some of the workers (especially the front desk older woman) acts like they are high and mighty just because they work at a well known fitness club. There are so many BETTER local barre and fitness studios nearby that are personable and friendly!

Absolutely horrible. The front desk workers, especially the older/middle aged woman with red hair is extremely rude. She is very demeaning and makes you regret walking in. The best way to describe this customer service is that they believe they are better than you, unfortunately. The workout itself. I would give it a 7/10. It is a decent workout, if you are new to barre or pilates you will feel the burn. However is it worth the price, no not at all. I could easily find a YouTube video with the same type of instructor and complete the same workout at home. The instructors kind of just move through the motions. There is no "let's go!" energy, there is no hands on or verbal support to fix postures to limit injury, and there really is not much of a personable experience. If you are looking for a GREAT, personable, individualistic barre class this is not where you should go. Literally more than half the class is lost and not sure how to fix their form and it's very unfortunate to see. I highly recommend THRIVE barre in Pelham if you are looking for an awesome high energy motivating class where you will be helped all areas. I was very sad to be let down by pure barre, as it is so close to my house. I will not be returning and I really recommend that you look elsewhere.

I'm only 38 but I have an old lady back with a minor curve and herniations at L4, L5, C1 and C2. They renovated over the summer and reopened recently as Celcius. Now they do group classes rather than one-on-one and my first class this morning kicked my butt yet was over before I knew it and I felt great after so it was the same great experience as the one-on-one sessions. For me the best part was that I dropped my kids at school at 8am, started at 8:30 and was home by 9:30 (45 min class) so I had the rest of the morning to get things done. I don't normally promote things but Celcius is worth it and the staff there is so great I can't help post about it
