I've come to two classes here and I've noticed some of the staff are rude and not welcoming. As a newbie I took the introduction class for first time Pure Barre students. My instructor was very nice (Jill) but it felt very rushed especially for a new student coming into the a barre studio for the first time. At the end of the class Jill and the desk person tries to pressure you to buy more classes, which is super annoying. I just took my second class today hoping it would be more organized and paced well. I signed up for a 5:30 class and showed up exactly at 5:30. When I walked in the class had just begun, but the front desk woman reprimanded me and said with an attitude that if I was going to be late I should have called ahead and that people my age seem to always be late to everything... BIG turn off. The class was just okay. The pace is rushed, and it feels like the instructor is just trying to get you to do as many combination of movements as possible in 45 minutes. The class was also jam packed, there was not enough room for everyone, they should definitely make a maximum guest policy to avoid this. Won't be coming back. Some of the workers (especially the front desk older woman) acts like they are high and mighty just because they work at a well known fitness club. I am writing as someone who has been to many different workout classes and has been working out (marathoner, cyclist, gymnast) since age 10. Let's start with customer service. Absolutely horrible. The front desk workers, especially the older/middle aged woman with red hair is extremely rude. She is very demeaning and makes you regret walking in. The best way to describe this customer service is that they believe they are better than you, unfortunately. The workout itself. I would give it a 7/10. It is a decent workout, if you are new to barre or pilates you will feel the burn. However is it worth the price, no not at all. I could easily find a YouTube video with the same type of instructor and complete the same workout at home. The instructors kind of just move through the motions. There is no "let's go!" energy, there is no hands on or verbal support to fix postures to limit injury, and there really is not much of a personable experience. If you are looking for a GREAT, personable, individualistic barre class this is not where you should go. Literally more than half the class is lost and not sure how to fix their form and it's very unfortunate to see. I highly recommend THRIVE barre in Pelham if you are looking for an awesome high energy motivating class where you will be helped all areas. I had been wanting to join Pure Barre for a while and when my friends asked me to take an intro class in January, I said yes immediately! I took ballet as a kid and although I am not as flexible as I was when I was younger, the class was great! I decided to get a class package because I usually am fairly busy and don't live the closest to Bronxville but I'm glad I did! Great workout in a very fun atmosphere. read more

5 stars for the workout! 2 stars for customer service... While the workout itself is great and effective, I am not thrilled with the customer service at this location, at all. I've been a client of theirs on and off for about 4-5 years and there have been many issues with class packages that I have bought throughout this time, as well as some other minor customer service issues. Let me spare the monstrous details of my ordeal with them to say this: - They are not as organized as they think they are - They aren't as pleasant as they seem to be - They aren't as understanding as they claim to be - They promise to extend classes that are near their expiry, just to have them "disappear" into cyber space and then seem confused as to why and how that happened - Whatever system they use to track their clients class packages needs to be seriously updated -Management can sometimes take ages to respond to a simple inquiry and get super defensive when called out on things... -And let me not get started on how they handled these issues during the peak of Covid... I have now resorted to only using the Pure Barre Go app on occasion when I feel like doing their workout. Maybe I'll give them another shot in the future, but there are so many other boutique workout studios in the area that are worth your time, money and commitment (with better customer service as well). read more

Wanted to shout out a great studio, friendly staff and diverse clientele that makes me come back time after time again. I'm happy with my decision to buy a class pack with PB Bronxville. I was worried the studio wouldn't be as great as those in the city but so far every class has been a great workout and I give credit to the teachers who teach great classes and most of all form correct you so you don't get injured. read more

While I enjoy the classes here for the most part, the customer service from the team leaves a lot to be desired. I had been in communication with the studio manager and had arranged a complimentary class. When I arrived this hadn't been communicated and it was kind of awkward. We eventually figured it out. After the class, I tried getting in touch because I had questions about ordering a package and it took the studio manager about three days to get back to me. I decided not to buy anything based on those factors and also the terrible rollover policy. The workout itself is great, though. I'd been looking for a way to vary my workout routine once I felt like I'd reached a plateau. For some time now, women all around me have been raving and going crazy about Pure Barre. I'm here to join the crazy train and support ALL of the hype about this form of exercise. To be fair, you could find a cheaper barre class at another gym/franchise that isn't trademarked like Pure Barre/Pure Body, Vixen, CrossFit, Zumba....but I went with Pure Barre and signed up for their New Client Special for $99, which grants you access to unlimited classes for one month. Then you're required to either pay for individual classes to the tune of $27, or sign up for a real membership, which I have not yet looked into. That said, I LOVE PURE BARRE BRONXVILLE. I would recommend going to a "Breaking Down the Barre" workshop, which I had the pleasure of doing with Mariellen. This workshop is great for those of you who haven't yet taken a barre class, so that the instructor can really take the time to demonstrate the proper form and technique. I say this because, classes are fast-paced and expensive, so you definitely don't want to waste your time and money being too far behind the other people in your class. You'll walk in, take off your shoes and be greeted warmly by one of many women with a friendly smile. Classes are done without shoes (and in socks), so you can buy your handy pure barre socks with foot grips for $14/pair in any studio. Yes, it's another expensive thing, and you probably can get through your classes with your normal gym socks, but I find that the grips help. Yes, I could buy my own grippy, Spiderwoman socks, but I just bought a bunch at Pure Barre and called it a day. Classes are CHALLENGING! But that's why you came here, right? You want to earn those muscle shakes when you're on the bar. Come into your seat, now lift and tuck, and squeeze and tuck. I'm actually obsessed with this program. You might think that nothing is being accomplished by moving parts of your body just an inch, but you are really working. I dare anyone who thinks they are in prime shape to take these classes and not feel like they're working muscles they've been neglecting. So far I've had class with Mariellen, Erica, Jill P, Stacey, and Sian. All of these ladies have been wonderfully helpful to a beginner like me, and have taken the time to answer my questions thoughtfully. I feel like I'm really getting my money and time's worth, and I love the environment. I'm sure there are larger Pure Barre locations in more densely populated areas, but the Pure Barre Bronxville has only one studio, and that seems to be sufficient. Downloading the app makes it super easy to sign up for classes, which you must do, if you expect to participate. Walk-ins are allowed (but not for Platform) but it's more likely than not, that you won't find space in the walk-in of your choice because there's usually a wait list before that. As I mentioned, Pure Barre is trendy and everybody wants to get in there to feel the burn and build that lean muscle. I have no regrets besides not starting this program sooner. I feel that it's a challenging supplement to my usual routine and I noticed an additional 3 lb drop in my weight after alternating Pure Barre with my cardio and lifting routine. I intend to continue that and really push myself. Pure Barre instructors will help to push their clients, too. One of my favorite things I've ever heard in class was, "Don't let your body decide when you give up!" It's all about trying to get yourself to a point where you can mentally push past the pain and the muscle spasms. Once you do, you're gold! My cousin's wife came with me the other day and we had a blast! No, I'm lying we both were dying and having uncontrollable leg spasms, but dammit it was worth it! Seriously, I plan to be a Pure Barre junkie some day and can't wait until I can call myself a member of the 100+ club. This studio is clean, located right in town and you'll leave every class feeling great about you. What more can you ask for? read more

I got a free trial to test out pure barre. My first class was with Sian and it was not easy. It started off easy and then I couldn't even keep up. Luckily the instructor was extremely helpful with my form and really encouraged me to keep going but at some points I just waited for that specific exercise to be over. Although everyone in the class was running circles around me they never made me feel bad for not being able to keep up. I'm glad I tried pure barre but I'm not sure if I will continue. This is definitely a great exercise class if you're trying to build muscle especially in your legs and butt. There is plenty of street parking on the street before and there are some parallel spots right in front of the studio. across the street from the studio is a huge metered parking lot. I read more

Love pure barre Bronxville !!!! Been coming to this location for over 6 months , and I can not get enough of it. This work out might look easy to do , but once you are in it, trust me it is very difficult to complete. The workout itself focuses on working out your arms, thighs , seat (butt), and abs. The format is pretty much the same , but the movements they do in each class is different , so one can go daily and it will be a different routine. I NEVER get bored. This class, is pretty expensive , but they are pretty good with offering affordable packages. Another thing I love about this location are the instructors. Every single one of them is lovely , and will definitely make you sweat for your money. My personal favorite are ( Nicole, Hollis, and Brittney) . Definitely give Pure Barre a try. read more

I've been going to pure barre classes in Bronxville for over a year. There has never been a class where I haven't felt challenged--even after I made it to my 100th class, and I'm working towards my 250th class. My co-worker convince me to attend a class with her. it was amazing and extremely hard for me. I was not in shape but that did not stop me. Let me tell you, it's one hell of a workout. It was also relaxing. The vibe there was great and the aura when you walk in was pleasant. Very clean. There was women of all ages and sizes. I did not feel uncomfortable. It's a no shoes zone so you should bring socks that have grips on the bottom. I had regular socks on and it made things a little tough because I could not get a good grip. I have been going to Pure Barre Bronxville off and on for about 4 months. I purchased a 10 class pass at the end of November since I enjoyed it so much! This morning, I called PB Bronxville to sign up for classes as I was unable to do so online and was having issues. I was then informed that 5 of my 10 classes were expired - between the two holidays, snow, going to other PB studios (they're franchised and do not transfer!) - I was unable to get to all 10 classes within a two month time span. :( After an honest conversation with the front desk attendant this morning- that I was completely unaware that the classes expired 2 months after purchase! - I was able to receive a 2 week extension so that I can complete my 10 pack. It was a truly wonderful customer service experience that made my morning! Because of this - I'll be sure to keep purchasing the 10 class pass and continue to be a patron of PB Bronxville. read more

I took advantage of the $99/month trial, and after not exercising for 2 years found remarkable results. It was very difficult, but that being said the class is kept at a nice clip changing the exercises hitting all areas of the body. The instructors are all excellent, and helpful in a non intrusive way. Most impressive about the Bronxville studio is that they are very inclusive and encouraging. While this may be a good workout for some, I was disappointed. I usually go to Bar Method where the instructors know your name, there is excellent "hands on" teaching of the positions, so that one gets the moves and stance right. At Pure Barre, there is very little correction so clients are often doing the poses wrong. It is "do as I do" instruction. Also, the music is too loud and the room too dark. The instructors don't make an effort to learn your name, but they really lost me when I forgot my socks at home. I have been looking for different workouts to ad something to my routine and have hear a lot about this kind of workout, so I grabbed their promotional unlimited classes package for $99 (new members only). The place is very clean, instructors nice, classes small and readily available, and work outs pretty good, but even their "cardio" class, while good for someone who may not work out too hard or is just getting into shape, did not leave me feeling challenged. I walked away with some exercises I could do from home, but will not continue my membership, which would now be increased to $219 for unlimited classes or $27 per class for individual classes. Personally, while expensive, I feel Soul Cycle is just a better work out, and I have recently discovered SLT in Scarsdale, which is a ramped up high intensity pilates workout using a mega former machine that is equally pricey, but very challenging (in a good way). Basically, I think Pure Barre is better for those who prefer something less intense, and I could see why they enjoy it, I just think it wasn't for me. read more
