Don't do this to yourself. You can get much better pizza. It's a shame because Pizza is in the name and that was the worst thing we had. I would highly recommend they add salt to the pizza dough if they make in house. Also the meatballs were shockingly tasteless and dry. Salads came out wilted. The crawfish bread was not bad, but a little lacking in crawfish. I think the audience here is children because we were the only visitors without them. The daytime bartender was GREAT!!! It was close to the end of her shift. I came in to grab something quick before running errands. I knew it was close to the end of her shift and another girl came in to relieve her while I was here in the middle of eating. She didn't rush me. Soulshine's staff have been great every time I've visited. My last visit, I brought my pups out on the patio and the majority of the staff came out to greet my new 3 month old puppy. I really do hate to leave poor reviews, but my family and I just left Soulshine and had a very poor experience. We have not had great experiences at this restaurant in the past and therefore have not been back in a while. I was home alone with three of my kids and saw that they advertised kids eat free on Wednesdays. I decided to load up the kids and give the restaurant another try. Only two of my kids were under 10, so I knew I would buy entrees for my older daughter and I, but having a large family I always look for a great deal. First, our server, Pearl, was very friendly and though she had too many tables (many large parties) to be very attentive, she was working hard and had a great attitude. I ordered the fried chicken salad which had less chicken then a kids 4 count nuggets at Chick fil a. When I asked what dressing I was not sure and she offered to bring both. My daughter ordered the pepperoni calzone. My 6 and 9 year old kids meal each. The food was not great, but didn't taste bad. When I got the bill I noted it was much higher than I expected. I had been charged for extra dressing on my salad as well as my daughter had asked for ranch, unbeknownst to me. (I understand charging for these, but would like it communicated prior to). One kids meal had been taken off, but the other was listed for $10, but clearly printed on the menu is was $8. The sweet server said that entrees must be $12 dollars to qualify for free kids meal, so my daughter's $11 calzone would not count. She then acted surprised about the difference in price and said she would ask her manager. My card was run, but nothing was ever adjusted. I know a two dollar price discrepancy and a couple of dollars on extra dressings is not a big deal, but all of these could've been clearly been communicated through adequate marketing or with server communication. Visited during summer COVID conditions - Restaurant is fully operating with limited capacity. (The timing of this posting is slightly delayed from the date you see here). This is a Pick up experience: ordered via yelp to grubhub in the late evening. Medium with several toppings is priced at $17. The pizza had a thin, chewy layer with a puffy crust on the end that allows for foldable eating. Has that brick oven feeling of gourmet pies for the discernible taste. Crawfish bread portioned as an appetizer $10. Crawfish lightly portioned on a white sauce on an Italian (or italian-shaped) bread Chopped salad $9 over salad greens, cheese, bacon, ham, tomatoes, etc. We were very pleased with the taste of the pizza and salad. Care was taken on both to deliver a quality product worth revisiting. The crawfish bread was a miss for us. It was missing spice as fish nor the white sauce had no taste. I was excited about it but even my party could not fine it pleasing. Debates abound about giving this another try. Another consideration was the portion size of the pizza in relation to the price. A medium was actually a small pizza for one or two persons. It is the size of a large frisbe. It is filling with toppings but disappointedly my small. Keep that in mind as an over consideration. Tip: Take out is in the back. Not the most attractive area to sit as that area acts as a take out bar and storage. You can get there by walking down the hall from the restaurant or by entering from its own take-out door in the rear of of the building. Why the 5? Was staying in a hotel nearby. It was late when I arrived in town and decided to order pizza and eat in my room. Since this was next door I decided to check it out. I ordered on the phone and they said it would be ready in 15 minutes. I went to pick it up and they were boxing it as I walked in. If you're gonna splurge on pizza that isn't in NY or Chicago, this is it. I won't lie, it was pricey for pizza, especially if you have it delivered through The yelp app, but it's delicious. The thin crust is perfect for my husband and I ... not cracker thin like dominos, but feels more like a NY style crust. The boss hawg pizza is the bomb ! We've had sausage and mushrooms, the one that had everything on it, and the cheese sticks. It's all good. The pizzas are more like personal pan pizzas, so you can get different ones to try without having a ginormous large one that you feel badly about throwing away. Take away- try the boss hawg. yall, i love this sports bar/pizza joint. they have a bunch of beer on draft & seltzer's too (for those looking for low sugar low carb options) i have been to the location up in ridgeland & in flowood too!! the one in ridgeland is more restaurant oriented & the one in flowood is more relaxed & bar like. both locations are amazing though, would 10000% recommend the jerk chicken wings & their crawfish cheese bread. everytime i come here i usually get a pesto based pizza, (i think the mediterranean) then add shrimp & crawfish, it's amazing!!! would definitely recommend for good casual eats & drinks! read more
