Jay was super friendly, informative and helpful. Also, had the best price in the OC area. I called 10 different places. Had an alarm, 2 actuators and JBL speakers installed in the 2 front doors since my truck is a 1995 and everything is manual. Now my truck has an alarm and automatic doors/keyless entries. I've had alarm and actuators installed at another shop before for a different car. The other shop did a good job, but Sound Mania did a better job. He installed a little override button for the kill switch. And the keyless remote has the option to lock/unlock the doors without beeping to not disturb neighbors in a quiet neighborhood. He then demoed and explained everything when the job was done. Alarm, actuators and speakers work like a charm. Installed dash cam. Works fine. Negatives: 1) "Waiting area" is folding chairs in open area next to Anaheim Blvd. Cold, windy, noisy. No coffee, no snacks. 2) Bathroom is disgusting: dirty, no soap, no paper towels. 3) Had to wait too long since only one installer. If you don't have appointment better to drop off. 4) The owner (Jay) spends his time sweeping up invisible trash instead of working on installs. I came prepared to spend money but i was talked out of overspending and being logical. kinda bummed i didn't get a deck with all the bells and whistles or well i just wanted gps and android auto, but Jay explained to me the prices of decks have gone up drastically during the pandemic so use my phone for gps. I went in to the shop to ask Jay, the owner, what he would recommend for my car (2008 Honda Accord) as far as subs, amps, enclosures. He told me to go for a 10" Kicker sub in a ported box (along with the amp). I drive back to Nashville for school, so I asked it I could put the box into my car, to see how much room I would have for that plus luggage. Plenty of room! So I decided to go with it. A week later, I came into the shop to get it installed. Before installation, he let me listen to it in his car, and I thought it sounded great! After the installation, on my drive home, I was very impressed!! And it's great when you pay cash: no sales tax! Thanks again, Jay!! Update: I went back and got my windows tinted. My car has never looked better! Thank you again, Jay!! Another Update: Jay helped me decide between HID and LED headlights. He explained to me each difference until I understood. I had him install HID headlights, and they were great! Very bright, light had a little blue tint, took about 10 seconds to achieve full brightness (which didn't bother me). Drove with it for 2 days. I decided that I wanted to try the LED headlights. It doesn't have that blue tint, but the light covers more space, super bright, instant full-brightness. I explained bringing my car over because I was in the process of selling, had some issues, and needed to switch systems to a Range Rover. This a hole got annoyed that I somehow did not bring the other car as only one person and that he was busy. He also acted like it was rocket science based on pricing given. I believe he was actually frustrated with the language barrier and his poor English. We all get busy sometimes sorry. Also explained to me to uninstall myself and that he would charge $100. Took My Jeep yesterday to install the headlights and the fogs. They ended up breaking my side marker and ruin my fender with a lot scratches on my fender. Wish I could of not taking my Jeep. I brought my Toyota 2019 Rav4 and Amazon purchased dash cam for installation. The technician did a poor task by installing my rear camera outside the vehicle above license plate. I told the store manager if they could move rear camera inside the vehicle when I picked up my vehicle because the installed rear camera (See photo) above lic. Plate was too easy for anyone destroying, tempering, beating, stealing, or something rear-ended it. Both store manager and technician alleged the rear camera was not manufactured for inside the vehicle installation but only for outside mounting. I did not believe what they said and had another dash cam installation shop to remove the rear camera from outside mounting to inside vehicle mounting (See 2nd photo) 2 days later. I therefore recommend not Sound Mania Car Stereo shop at all from now on because of their inability to do rear camera mounting inside the vehicle and the poor customer unsatisfactory work. read more

Came here a month ago with my new 4 series. Got 5 window tints in under 45 minutes. Good when you are in a rush, bad if you want your tint to be properly done. I called on Saturday morning and was able to go in as a walk in because they do not do appointments on Saturdays; The manger just ask that I leave the car for a couple hours and he would provide quality work. I was shopping around for a new car stereo for my 2006 Sienna. The stock stereo was fine until the aux input went out on me so I wasn't able to play my iPhone anymore which is a no bueno because I am music producer and need to always test my finished production in the car system. Called Sound Mania and Jay was very helpful over the phone as far as quoting, answering all my questions .. he was really upbeat and professional unlike the other places I called around the area. Finally came in and off the bat he recognize who I was, took a pause from what he was doing and was very accommodating to me with over the top great customer service! Didn't ask for money until it was done. Actually he never even asked for money I was pretty much like " here take my money already " lol He had his tech work on my installation right away, keep mind it wasn't extremely busy. And maybe that's why it was so quick - probably 1hr or less for a basic car stereo. Jay also helped me pick the right stereo & gave me options! On my first visit to Sound Mania I met Jay and was just checking out different places and getting quotes to get a stereo (head unit, amp, subwoofer) put into my Jeep Wrangler. What I liked about Jay was he was flexible and also had great prices. I decided to go with him and brought my Jeep in and they had it done that same day. His team did a fantastic job and everything worked perfectly. The system sounded amazing, everything was mounted cleanly, all the wires were hidden and everything was done exactly as we had discussed. I would highly recommend these guys. I was so impressed with their work, I decided to ask if they could install lights on my Jeep since it was basic electrical work and to my surprise they said they had done lights on a Jeep Wrangler before. I brought in the light bar, pod lights, mounting brackets and my sPod to have them install it. Again, Jay offered me a fair price and they completed it the same day. All the wiring was cleanly done and everything was perfect. I ended up getting another car and needed tints and on a whim called up Jay to see if they did tints and again he surprised me and said they do. Just to be clear (and you can look this up yourself), on a 2015 Subaru Impreza, it is impossible not to touch the hazard lights if you are removing the stereo. The hazard lights sit above the stereo and must be removed in order to not only pull the stereo out but also access the harness and cables. So to say that the hazard lights were never touched is a flat out lie. Unless of course, the shop never worked on my stereo and charged me anyway. As far as parts, everything was bought from Crutchfield and Amazon. The shop never asked where I bought my stereo and wires so I never mentioned it. I could've shown them receipts or email orders of the parts if they second guessed the quality of the parts. But addressing the quality of the parts seems like an easy way on blaming your mistakes or work on something else. Anyway, I just felt I needed to update my review because someone reached out to me about my review and said the owner had the right in this encounter. Everyone has their own opinion. In retrospect, it was a learning experience for me and I'm sure the shop learned something new as well. I'm trying to look at things in a positive way. I just know that if you're given an estimate, I should say a shop should stick to that estimate. If a shop anticipates the estimate can change, well then maybe say that too, in the beginning. Or give a range instead of an actual set price. I wish the shop success and hopefully this taught them something new as I too learned something as well. read more
