Most certainly recommend Ken for his phenomenal work. It's really difficult to find a technician as honest and thorough as Ken in this auto business these days. I've made several visits over the past 2-3 years for different types of stuff, and he has always striven to provide full satisfaction with my car. He kinda runs the business by himself, so when he's booked up you may find yourself difficult to find him, but he tries to make himself available as much as possible. He sometimes worked through weekends for me just for the passion and love of cars. He also readily answered questions by text or phone anytime. He's shop isn't the fanciest shop around, but I believe his work quality surpasses others. It was worth every penny for me so far. If you really care about your car I would seriously consider making a visit and talk to Ken. read more

Where do I start? First, Ken did the work a year ago (Oct 2014), but I figured I would get to this eventually. I found Ken via the Viper website; he was the only authorized dealer that wasn't Best Buy or some other random chain shop. I called him up and made an appointment to go talk to him and also, so he could look at my current system in my car. We discussed what I wanted and what would work best. He gave me the ins and outs of how the remote start would work on my manual Mazda. Second, he went above and beyond by having new keys cut for my Mazda. I didn't want to carry around my switchblade key and a remote starter, so he offered to get them cut, with his business discount. It came with many hoops that we didn't foresee and he jumped through all of them....only charging me what Mazda charged him. Third, he may have had my car for longer than expected, however, he fixed the horrible wiring done by Mazda (or the company that installs their alarms). I know all about "clean" wiring and I absolutely love that he likes to keep things organized and clear/clean. During the rewire, he found a wire that could have potentially caused me to have an accident. So grateful he found that before anything happened. After the install, I saw that my license plate light was out, after checking the bulbs and fuse, I thought it may have been the install. Ken had me come over so he could look at it, knowing full well it had nothing to do with the install. He took a look at it and fixed it. Again, nothing to do with his install. Who does that? Not a big box company, that's for sure! Lastly, he is the sole owner of his company and works out of his home. I personally am okay with this because if he wasn't great at what he does, he wouldn't stay in business. It also means he can help me out, above and beyond, because it is his company. It's why I don't like going to big box stores for this sort of thing. The people aren't as educated nor as experienced. Maybe one day, I'll use him for sound system installation as I'm sure he's awesome at that too. read more

Ken was the sweetest guy I have ever met. I called ahead of time for a broken stereo and while every other shop in town was asking at least $35 to look at it (another $90) to fix it, Ken took a look at for free! Within 30 min he had found the problem, explained to me how shitty the people that installed my stereo were, and fixed the system. He was great at keeping me in the loop with what he was doing to my car and was extremely helpful. No, this isn't some big old shop and it might be hard to find but he will give you the best directions on the phone and he will give you the best price. I've had numerous dealings with bigger box stores. Some don't want to deal with anything slightly out of the box or flat out do half assed installs. I took my Buick to Ken and he worked with my wants and my budget. He even let me hang out while he did the new fronts/amp install. It just showed me how badly I got ripped off paying $1200 for garbage work that he did better for 1/3 the price. He even went the extra mile to find matching material to wrap my door pods in, instead of slapping generic black carpet on it like the last place. His shop may be just behind his house and might not look cool, but his work speaks for it's self. You're not gonna pay to have some teenage intern do a crappy install like you might get at a box store, Ken does it all. read more

Just had my new car stereo installed here. He was so great! He fixed an issue with my old stereo wiring that was a problem waiting to happen. He explained all of the interface on my new stereo and helped sync it to the Bluetooth on my phone. He went above and beyond when he noticed my tires were a little flat and used his compressor to pump them up. That is not something I would expect when I get my car stereo installed. I was so frustrated trying to get my XM Satellite radio to work again in my car. After almost 2 months of long phone calls to XM and 2 repair trips to my dealership, I didn't know where to turn. I did a search on yelp and found Sounds Unique, which was close in Aloha. I called and talked to Ken, who was so willing to help. He figured out what was wrong in about 5 minutes, removed my faulty module, called my dealership to get the part, drove over and got it the next day, and installed it in about 10 minutes. It worked immediately! I can't tell you what I went through before I met Ken and had my problem solved. He only wanted to charge me $20 for all he did, although I insisted on paying him more. Ken's great. He installed a DVD player in my van this past summer. Was friendly and professional all along the way. He explained various install options and helped me make the best decision for my family. I felt like he was honest and gave me a good, fair deal. Unfortunately last month while on vacation the DVD player suddenly stopped working. I called Ken right away to let him know. He was apologetic (even though it was not his fault). He got on it right away and made some phone calls to his distributor, and was able to get a new player on its way. He again exhibited great customer service and flexibility all along the way.
