The food is fine, and the price is right, but the unsanitary food handling will keep me from coming back. Before leaving I saw the dishwasher eating from the salad bar with his bare hands then returning to the kitchen to work. No handwashing, no gloves, just his unwashed fingers in the customer's food. Sure enough, my girlfriend who ate at the salad bar has been layed out sick all day while I'm fine because I only had soup. Unfortunate because the food is cheap, but I guess sometimes you get what you pay for. read more

Massive disappointment. The cups we got were filthy, one having clear lipstick marks on it. The cushions on one side of the wall had clearly not been cleaned in some time, one covered in dust on the top. The wall under the cushions was worse for wear. Don't get me started on the floors. The food was bland and tasteless. I had the tomato basil soup, which I suspect had curdled. There was no flavor to it. No tomato and certainly no basil. One cup and I was done. A waste of $8.99 on bland soup, dirty glasses, and an even more filthy restaurant. read more

The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. However the food was unfortunately not what I was hoping for. Easily the worst soup experience we've ever had. The chicken in the chicken noodle was raw. The clam chowder had curdled, and I'm quite sure something died in the potato salad. I'm seriously not a picky eater but I couldn't stomach three of the soups. If we don't end up with food poisoning it will be a miracle. We were looking for a new place to get some lighter fare, so seeing this place after going to the movies piqued my curiosity. I'm so glad we went! They have fresh soups daily, and their salad bar is nicely stocked. Their clam chowder was no slouch, and the tomato basil definitely had that basil aroma to it. I am a fan of the soup and salad buffet idea. The soup was decent and salad bar could have been better for the price. The issue with the place is that you cannot just get a single cup or bowl of soup unless it is take out only. The counter person said yes you can get a cup of soup but then you must leave. Oh well. The price is fairly priced especially with a large family. The salad bar was great minus the noodle salads and bread sticks were nice. However, the soups were all bland. I tried each one to see which one I liked most and I settled with no soup. The baked potato soup tasted like liquid smoke and a flour based soup. The tomato basil and chicken noodle soups tasted canned. The Pepperjack Cheeseburger was about as good as the clam chowder, bland. The great northern was flavorless. The noodle salads were bland as well, very little seasonings. The customer service was fairly good and they did a good job at keeping the tables cleared off. The young male cashier who helped at every station was very welcoming, polite, and upbeat. The middle aged male busser was surprisingly rude. He came to our table and wordlessly held out his hand for our dishes, while starting to grab for the ones within his reach. One of our party nicely told him "no, not while we're eating". He kept trying to take our plates though, so she said it twice more emphatically, and he eventually stopped. He went to the table behind her line of site, turned back to us, and gave us a foul look like "what's her problem, she's crazy!" For all the healthy reviews of this restaurant I was surprised because there were no foods labeled organic or even natural/pesticide/hormone free. Some of the food may have been, and some of it definitely wasn't. Surprising for the number one result when Googling "healthy restaurants in Billings". We didn't interact with the red haired woman, but she seemed driven and friendly. The young male cashier worked hard and was friendly to everyone the entire time. The middle aged busser gave a couple more looks to the member of our party who didn't want the table cleared as we ate. The soup and salad were very tasty, simply not actually health food. read more
