(Kari's Rating 5.5/10)…read more Came here with a group of 8 for an aprés ski and they charged half of us coming in a $10 cover just "because it started getting busy." Which it wasn't inside at all where our table was. Very loud and rowdy and the dj played the same parts of songs over the three hour time span we were there. Our server was half attentive, but she kept wandering off when we wanted to order more drinks-which just kind of made it difficult. We couldn't find our server for the rest of the night so we ordered from other random servers. We ordered a few buckets of beer and two poutine's. Which ended up being $48 for two small bowls that's essentially just really soggy fries- But to each their own. It's not the restaurants fault, it's what we ordered. We did order the regular truffle fries and they were much better! We also did a round of green tea and tequila shots, all shots were $12. Pretty cool for a first time experience but probably wouldn't come back, as it's overly crowded, champagnes flying everywhere and the bottle service sparklers were so strong it smelled a little like chemicals -but fun while we were here.

Fortunately for us, they have a tatami room that seats 14! Even more fortunately, it wasn't REALLY tatami seating -- low table with woven mats on the floor. Instead, it just looked like floor seating. The space under that table was recessed so you sit with your legs extended -- like sitting on a bench. The food was varied, with rolls and nigiri sushi, sashimi, udon, donburi, tempura, and more. There's definitely something for everyone. We ordered some of everything. And while everything was delicious, the standouts were the spider roll, super hiro roll, and crab claw tempura. Honorable mention goes to the strawberry sake margarita. The server handled our massive order of food and drinks expertly. Fun and casual atmosphere. Make sure to book a reservation as it is quite popular.

Our server was very nice and relatively attentive as it was very busy. We ordered tons of apps, takoyaki, beef tempura, a few salads, 5 of the 10 piece chefs Nigiri, the miso cod, garlic beef, udon noodles and a few nigiri. We also got a bunch of hot sake, sake margaritas and a few Sapporo's. Overall a fun place, kinda expensive for what it is with the ocean being as close as it is and not very authentic, but the food was passable. Great for groups but you need to check in early or get a reservation.

We were seated right away and our server came over and she was really nice. We checked out the menu and decided to try the tostadas. When our server came to take our order we asked about the size of the tostadas and she said they were like street size tortillas, maybe a bit bigger. It was our fault for not asking if they came with anything, we didn't and they didn't. Mr. B ordered the Ahi Tuna Tostadas and I chose the bean and pineapple tostadas. When the dishes came out, we were a bit surprised, the tostadas were sliding around on the large plates. Each dish was $16 and what we got was definitely not worth $16. The tuna tostadas were very good, had a nice spice to them. My bean and pineapple tostadas were delicious, spicy and very flavorful. So there was no complaints about the flavor of the food. But for the price I would expect a side of rice or something. This was more like an appetizer. For $32, and what we got, I wouldn't go back. There are some really great restaurants in Whistler, and in the Village that I would prefer to try or go back to.

So I walked over and they advertised a prix fixe menu for $30 - I can have a three course meal for less than that single salmon don! Place looks pretty nice and is very chill. As for the prix fixe it was fantastic. Basically - one appetizer, one soup like dish and a full dish. This is what I had - - ahi tuna tostada - very well done, light and great flavour - birria quesadilla with soup - both the soup and the birria was excellent. They go well together too. The quesadilla (actually more like a fried quesadilla) was already filling by itself and the meat very succulent. - chicken enchiladas - good, I also liked the green sauce it was served with. Rice was on par too. Overall I was very very happy with this meal and would definitely come back.

I also tried the ahi tuna bowl and loved it. It had such a great balance of flavors and textures -- fresh ahi tuna, watermelon radish(love how unique this addition was!), carrots, pickled ginger, and seaweed salad. The mix of vegetables with the tuna made it feel light but still filling. Definitely something I'd order again. We ordered a side of poutine and it did not disappoint. The fries, gravy, and cheese curds were all cooked well and blended together perfectly. They also had a great deal on pitchers of beer, which is always a win. I ordered a Shirley Temple -- it tasted more like orange juice and grenadine than the classic version, but it was still good. Service was just okay. The bartender took a while to come over and take my order at the bar, but once we were helped, everything moved smoothly. One of the highlights was the outdoor patio seating -- such a great spot to sit and watch the Fire & Ice show. Overall, solid food, good vibes, and a fun place to hang out!

Fortunately, it wasn't hard to find a couple Indian restaurants when we visited Whistler, BC. So on our first night there, we got take-out from Indian Masala Bistro. There was a large group of us, so we were able to order a variety of dishes - butter chicken, chicken curry, chicken masala, palak paneer, lamb korma, and a couple other dishes that I don't remember. We also got lots of garlic naan, of course. Unfortunately, their entrees DO NOT come with rice. So you need to order rice separately. (Minus one star for this.) When we ordered, we asked for medium heat level, but we barely noticed any heat (mild disappointment). Despite this, everything was very flavorful. The portion sizes were pretty generous and we had LOTS of leftovers for the next day or two. Located at the Hilton hotel in Whistler Village.

Ordered a bunch of different dishes for a big group (beers, mango lassi, 6 different types of…read morecurries, rice, naan, etc.) Quality of food was good but wasn't incredible. For example, the pani puri mixture felt a bit dry, and the curry ordered spicy could've been more spicy. Aloo gobhi cauliflower also seemed masked with other things, there could've been more/bigger cauliflower presence in the dish. You're also charged for rice and naan. Presentation on mango lassi was pretty. Service was okay, friendly but nothing to write home about. For example, it was a big group so the dishes were just dropped off on one end and we had to move them ourselves instead of the server placing them at the correct locations. Ambiance was good, with both booth and chair seating. There was no wait for the big group which was nice.
