We stopped at this restaurant while passing through Fair Play on our way to a cabin in the mountains. Wow, are we glad that we did! We were just ahead of the lunch rush and had an opportunity to talk to the staff. Since we were newbies, they walked us through the choices and made some great recommendations. The grilled cheese with ham option and tomato Basil soup was incredible. Actually, all of the soups looked amazing! As we were enjoying our meal, all of the locals started coming in. It was nice to hear the warm conversations between the owners and their customers. That is key for us. We even got to put a pin in their map, very special. We wish we lived closer so we could frequent this place. You need to experience this treat. read more

Amazing! I was a little skeptical, worried that it would be serve yourself, buffet style - not at all! Great variety of delicious soups to accommodate all dietary needs. Kids loved the grilled cheeses, I thoroughly enjoyed my veggie soup and Greek salad, hubby had french onion and Caesar and devoured it. Perhaps the best part was the mini loaves of bread that came with our soup. In addition to being adorable, they were delicious - soft, tasty, homemade goodness. Wow! What a great addition to Fairplay! We just had lunch for the first time and I have to say, This just might be my new favorite place. I had the smoked sausage soup, I don't usually care for soup- it tasted like my childhood. It could have almost been a sauce! So tasty. The bread was fresh, soft and a perfect side for the soup. I also ordered the Thai peanut chicken salad, which for me was the star. The cilantro, along with delicious dressing really sets this salad off. I'll be coming back for more soon! read more

I have to eat gluten free, so I was pleasantly surprised to find out ALL of the soups served the day of our visit were gluten free. My friend had the muffuletta and I had a baked potato with a ladle of soup on top. My potato was very large, which may be why it wasn't cooked all the way through. This is the reason for the 4 stars. This place is such a hidden secret!! We visited here twice on our vacation and I wish I could go back daily. All soups and sandwiches we tried were phenomenal, my favorite was the potato bacon bleu and the tuna melt. I could eat one of those tuna melts every day! I also got an extra soup, artichoke and spinach with two drinks. So are you ready for this? 32.50! I've never paid 32.50 for 3 halfass bowls of soup and two grilled cheese sandwiches ever. They had several soups that looked good but I wanted to get something to go. I got an egg salad sandwich and was disappointed. It was so runny it might as well of been soup with a side of bread. It had carrots and maybe a sour cream base?? Very strange, sort of bland with no seasoning. I don't think there is any salt in the recipe. I may come back and try some soup sometime, but there are plenty of places to eat in Fairplay. read more

We stopped in for lunch on our way to Crested Butte today and we're so glad we did. The owner let's you sample the soups before you order - the only tough part is that they're all phenomenal and it was hard to choose. I ended up ordering the scallop bisque and half a chicken salad sandwich and my fiancé got tomato bisque and grilled cheese. Portions are generous and the prices are hard to beat for high quality food. The sandwich had this awesome aioli on it and the bread is homemade in house. We ate the food too quick to take pictures.
