We arrived around 7pm and had a 20-minute wait for the table. No big deal, as we were able to stroll around the town. Once seated, our server was prompt and friendly and had drinks and salads out quickly. The prime rib followed shortly after and both the bread and baked potato included were amazing. The bread was pillowy soft, but still had structure. The baked potato was cooked just right, not dry, and came with sour cream and butter. We had a good experience at Quincy's. VERY simple menu. Friday and Saturday it's prime rib. The rest of the weeks it's a bacon wrapped filet. The prime rib wasn't heavily seasoned, which is a plus for us. I found the $5 house margarita worth $5. That had to be the least expensive tequila available. I will say I got what I paid for in that respect. The meal was served with bread and a baked potato. I don't like bacon on my steak so I did pull that off but everything else was delicious. For less than $30, I got a huge meal with great service in a very cool building. This is such a cute little diner! We were immediately greeted upon arrival and the menu was explained. There is a bar right when you walk through the door and a few different dining areas. We were seated in really comfortable chairs with a beautiful view of the outside. We went on a Saturday specifically for the prime rib, as recommended by our friends. There were a few other options (vegetable lasagna) that were available, as well. We decided to split the 20 ounce prime rib and ordered a vegetable plate (extra salad, extra potato, and extra roll) and macaroni and cheese. The value was amazing considering how much you actually get. We ended up taking home approximately 10 ounces of prime rib as leftovers. We saved enough (barely) room for cheesecake and are so glad that we did! The cheesecake was absolutely delicious! The bill was approximately $120 for 4 of us to eat (including one round of drinks and dessert)! I definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a delicious meal before or after walking through really cute shops! We will definitely be back for the filet! My only complaint had to do with the bathrooms, but the experience made this review 5/5 stars. Instead of doors in the bathrooms, there are pretty sheer curtains and no option to lock / ensure privacy. Was down in Leadville for the annual ski joring event and wanted a hearty dinner after driving out from Denver through the snow. Given the special event, it was a bit crowded, but we were seated fairly quickly and tended to immediately. It was Friday, so prime rib it was! Started off with the house salad, followed by an 8-oz prime rib, baked potato with sour cream and butter, and some warm bread. The au jus made this meal for me - rich, salty, umami flavor to pour over everything! The meat melted in your mouth and the baked potato was perfectly crunchy on the outside, with a fluffiness on the inside. When in Leadville, definitely stop by to try their daily special! read more

My dinner would would have been better if I would have decided to go to Taco Bell. Steak was under cooked and it was just nasty the bacon on the fillet was nasty mushy and looked raw. And just everything completely was sub par. But it was cheap for 2 steaks for my wife and I. You Get what you pay for I guess. And I asked for A1 and idk what they brought me but is was nasty, it was like spoiled bbq sauce. I Will never be back here again. Much better option down the road at Taco Bell. Came into town for a memorial service and needed to arrange a table for 10. We walked in at 4:00pm and spoke to the manager to make a reservation at 5:30 for our group. The manager told is that "reservations would not be necessary and to just come in at 5:30". So, our party arrives at 5:30 only to be told that it would be a one hour wait. We asked for the manager who told us "ummm well I didn't think it would be busy, but now it is and we don't have a table now, and...that we should have made a reservation" We reminded her of our earlier discussion and she was completely unhelpful. Completely worthless response and horrible customer service. To be frank, the only reason we even came here is that there were no other options in town on this night. We've been here on several other occasions. The food quality is abysmal. Meat quality grade is low and they don't seem to be able to cook properly to the temperature requested. Oh and the "baked potatoes".....the only potato option on the menu. One would think that being the only option that they could actually cook them properly to a nice soft internal texture inside, but no. Hard as a rock! Completely inedible. This is a strange review for a vegetarian to write, considering that Quincy's is an iconic wild west steak house. However, visitors to Leadville have heard about Quincy's and want to visit this carnivore's delight. Last night, three of the four of us got the 6-ounce filet mignon. The menu is simple. There is usually one cut of steak on the menu each night: Sunday-Thursday is filet mignon and Friday and Saturday is prime rib. You can choose your size up to a 15-ounce filet mignon or a 20-ounce prime rib. The dinners come with salad (iceberg wedge with lots of a creamy dressing), baked potato, bread, and horseradish (if you want it). Be sure to request your salad dressing and/or butter and sour cream for your baked potato on the side if you don't want mega-quantities of each! The butter on top of the baked potato looked like a scoop of ice cream! The good thing for vegetarians is that there is vegetarian lasagna on the menu every night and it is reliably excellent! It is full of greens, veggies, ricotta, and mozzarella and tasty as restaurant veggie lasagna gets. The macaroni and cheese used to be only on the children's menu, as I recall, but it was on the regular menu last night. These are vegetarian, not vegan. You used to be able to get a "vegetable plate" consisting of baked potato, salad, and bread, but I did not see it on the menu last night. You might ask, but really, this isn't the best restaurant for vegans. One note from a past visit: my husband likes his steak medium, and he had to send it back three times before it was no longer raw. But that was just once, and his steak was fine yesterday. There is no wine list to speak of, which is a bit odd and unfortunate for a steak house. There is a list of house wines, including Chardonnay, White Zinfandel, and Cabernet Sauvignon, which would seem the best choice for stake. There is a bar, so you can also order cocktails. This steakhouse in the historic town of Leadville was one of the few places open when we hit town on a Tuesday night. (We found that quite a few places are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays). The menu is very limited, which the host alerted us to right when we walked in. They offer Filet Mignon every night, except Fridays and Saturdays, when they switch over to Prime Rib. The other two entree options are vegetarian lasagna and Mac & Cheese. All dinners are served with salad, baked potato, and bread. I think this limited menu strategy works for Quincy's. It allows them to do fewer things well. We all ordered the steak. Everything was cooked to perfection. The bread was hot and yummy. Taking the advice of another reviewer, we asked for butter, sour cream, and dressing on the side. Our son asked for another order of bread, and they added $0.50 to our tab for it, which was fine, as their prices are so reasonable. We are from Seattle and would have easily spent the same amount for one steak dinner that we paid for 3 dinners at Quincy's. What a interestingly weird yet good experience. The menu is 2 items so depending on what night you come determines the menu. Steak or prime rib! The overhead is so low due to the limited menu (or so we were told by a local) that u get a pretty decent meal for $15.00. I ordered the steak meal which came with a salad and and a baked potato . The salad I skipped as it was just a head of lettuce, carrots, cheese and a ranch Dijon sauce that just wasn't yummy. I would have preferred just ranch. The steak was delicious though. The alcohol prices were incredible. A margarita for $3.75, yes PLEASE!!! And wine $4.00?? Insanely amazing. We ordered a bottle of wine for $14 and it had gone sour. Like straight vinegar. I left our wonderful server Destiny know and she took it off our bill and got us a new one with no questions asked. All in all, the place was just ok but for the value of what you got, you literally can not beat it. I will go back without a doubt. If I were to review just the 'filet' part of dinner we had a month ago, it would be a one star review. The items accompaning the steak are fine, and the service was attentive and pleasant. Howerver, the 'filet' is not a filet - one give away is that filet's come from the tenderloin, which is never bigger than few inches in diameter, so to get a larger filet, the beef if cut thicker. This is not the case here. Larger 'filets' are cut the same thickness, just with a larger diameter piece of meat. Another test, is that filets are the most tender cuts of steak. These ' filets' are not tender, and are not very tasty - the bacon wrap helps some.. At best the meat is a low grade top sirloin. The balance of the meal is fine, the frosen margaritas are a good value, and the deserts are tasty. But the steaks kill the dinner. On the other hand it seems the prime rib dinners (Friday and Saturday nights only) seem to get good reviews. So, go when the prime rib is served, and you will likely get a good meal. read more

I came here twice hoping the second time would be better. The first time I ordered the filet was super dry n not what I asked for but I ate it anyways. Came back again on Friday for their prime rib and it was also dry and tough, I asked for medium rare and it was well done again, they did bring me another prime rib but this time it was worse than the first order so I didn't even eat it. The waitress also seemed discombobulated and I had to ask twice for the sauce. I'm just in town visiting for the week but I won't come back when I do visit. I've never had this bad of meat.
