The bagels are some of the best I've had, perfectly crunchy and seeded on the outside while bouncy and soft on the inside. Their presentation is top notch, and although every time I've been they've been busy, the bagels come out very quickly. First time trying the egg salad bagel and I have a new favorite! The salad was fresh, creamy, and well seasoned, perfect with an extra squeeze of lemon. The smoked salmon was perfect as well, salmon and onions were thinly sliced and delicious. We ordered an egg salad and a smoked salmon on everything bagels and were blown away. The egg salad was delicious, so creamy, thoroughly seasoned, and fluffy. The smoked salmon was INCREDIBLE. Topped with dill and lemon, these were truly just amazing. We ordered two hot lattes with honey, though there could've been more honey added. The coffee was just okay. They have some table set up in their outside front patio section. You'll see many people in there leisure where are usually coming out of a yoga or Pilates class and many little puppies as their companions we tried their breakfast bagel sandwich on bagel sourdough, and it was pretty delicious although simple! A little too much cream cheese for my liking, but that could be adjusted. I enjoyed my stop here for a quick breakfast bite. It is a little expensive for a bagel, but enjoyable atmosphere. This location is super busy and just seems very awkward the layout, how the tables are outside, the constant yelling of names for orders just seems a little messy. I ordered a plan bagel and a smoothie. The bagel was a bit burnt, wayyy too crispy, my smoothie was good. There was a young lady sitting next to me who had to completely take off her eggs and bacon off her bagel because it was extremely burnt there was no bread inside. The breakfast sandwich was very full and would recommend ordering that one, but the jam on the butter and jam bagel was super super sweet that we couldnt finish it off. I finally checked out Sour Seed Bagels in downtown West Palm Beach. Off of Fern, down the street from Johan Joe's, Sour Seed offers delicious bagels with superb service behind the counter. While my initial visit was just before they closed on Sunday afternoon where they just had gluten free bagels, they were absolutely delicious. I ordered mine with some salmon, dill, and red onion, on top of scallion cream cheese. This meal brought me to a place of tremendous well being that I washed down with some tasty cold brew black. Seating wise is purely outside as there are tables set up next to the sidewalk on this deck. It's nice if it's a sunny day and the wind off the intercoastal isn't bad. Because I went there fairly late in their hours, I didn't have to wait in line or wait long for my food. But their staff was on point regardless. Do note that since this is located in downtown West Palm, you will either have to locate a close enough street parking spot near by or go to the garage on Datura in between Dixie and olive. I would come back in a heartbeat to try more of their bagel varieties and different sandwiches. read more

This spot was on my list of places to visit in west palm so we went on our first morning to see how it was. I don't think (didn't see) there's any indoor seating which kinda sucks, but there were a lot of side walk tables. Be willing to share if you come across one and it isn't full as there isn't much more seating space. The ordering line isn't clear, but basically make a line in front of the store front without blocking the entrance and order and the large window. The young lady at the window was nice and helped us make our selection from the menu. My wife and I pretty much shared everything food wise since I don't eat much, so we split the bagel for each and got our own drinks. The bagel was good and the cream cheese they put on each half was more than enough. I'd go back just for the bagels again. The hibiscus iced tea could've been made at home though. Nothing special there at all just brewed tea with ice. The seating and tea do pull a star so 4/5. read more

The main reason I am giving this place 3 stars is because the prices are insane. I can understand and appreciate that the quality of the food at this bagel shop may be better than others, as they use sourdough for their bagels, have homemade syrups for their drinks and their cream cheeses are also made in house. However, I would not say that these are the best bagels I've had in my life. For 4 half portion bagels (so 2 whole bagels), 2 drinks, tax & tip, I spent just shy of $72. There seems to be limited street parking, which you have to pay for of course so that's not a plus. From what I could tell they only had outdoor seating, but the staff is very nice and patient while you decide what you want. They have a good variety of menu options to choose from and you can make substitutions which is a plus. The cashier was also very kind to help make recommendations for what items are popular/her favorites. Since this place is basically a window, there is no indoor space, unless you are a staff member, so the line is formed outside and when you get to the window you can place your order with the cashier and either wait for your order to go or have a seat and it will be brought to you. It was a pretty chilly and windy day when I went, and there was a small line but they got through the line pretty quickly. This place is very fast/casual. In my opinion, I think the bagels should have been softer. They were overly toasted/too crunchy. Our favorite was the tomato + cream cheese bagel with the preserved lemon & Calabrian chili cream cheese. The Palm Beach Fog's were okay, but I would definitely add some sweetener to it as they didn't taste like much without it. I also noticed at the restaurant (and you can see in the drink picture) that they are not consistent with their matcha ratios as one drink was significantly brighter/darker green than the other and they were supposed to be the exact same drink. So maybe other people will have a different opinion on their order. My friend got a gluten-free bagel with raspberry jam and a flat white. The avocado toast was deliciously fresh and tangy and my friend liked her bagel and coffee. I would not recommend the Palm Beach fog if you're used to sweetened matcha, it was not my fave. Though the place was busy the staff was quick and receptive. Best bagel I have had in South Florida. While the place is expensive, the bagels are fantastic. I would get the Simple Smoked Salmon on an Everything Bagel. Oddly bagels they claimed were sold out for the day at the window were still available to order online from their own site (even the GF ones). FYI it's a window only with seats outside. Can be confusing when the window is closed and unstaffed. They don't want customers inside. This place reminds me a bit of a Portlandia episode. Employees like to introduce folks to their "open face concept" Though they'll do it if pressed, they don't seem to want to sell "loose" bagels. Why not just call themselves The Sour Seed Sandwich Company or something? As others have mentioned, the prices are quite high. More than $14 for a single bagel with butter and jam? They sell a few of their salads by the half pound. The tuna is almost $30 a pound. Egg salad almost $25 a pound. Plus, they add a 4% service charge (No idea why. Paid with a credit card?) on my bill. This is significantly higher than even the best bagel spots in NYC/Montreal. Even when not busy and the order simple the service tends to be s l o w. Generally homogenous crowd most days. Mobile order pickup is a bit unclear as there is generally a long line at the window for ordering but apparently you can skip the line for mobile order pickup, and patrons don't love the idea you're skipping them. The food presentation is strong, the ingredients are fresh and taste great, but it's really hard spending $30 (includes tax and tip) on essentially two bagels. The bagels themselves are pretty good, but sort of over toasted in my opinion. They are on the thinner side and have nice texture from the sourdough starter. I opted for a half simple salmon with scallion cream cheese $8.75, half garden veggie with spicy preserved lemon and chili cream cheese $8.50, and my husband got a whole bagel toasted with plain cream cheese $6. On the toast app, you can't order a bagel to make at home - only option is with cream cheese ($6 for plain, more for flavored cream cheese), with butter ($5.50) but if you want butter and jam that's $7 for a half and $13 for a whole bagel. The toppings aren't abundant, the amount of cream cheese on the regular toasted bagel was paltry, the amount of smoked salmon was skimpy, the veggies, herbs and capers were satisfactory.
