    Blueberry Bagel with Cream Cheese
    Halle P.

Stopped by Makeb's in downtown WPB and the bagels did not disappoint. I had an everything bagel with jalapeño cream cheese, tomatoes, capers, and onion. I felt that the bagel was fresh, flavorful had the perfect texture. My partner had a blueberry bagel with cream cheese and loved it too. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. We appreciated the outdoor seating because we had the dogs. I love that they are right across from a parking garage making it very easy to find parking considering how hectic downtown can be. I didn't try an omelette this time, but I saw some patrons enjoying them and they looked pretty good. Im giving Makebs a thumbs up!

Bagels are too big and doughy. I like their old recipe better. When are opening the S Dixie location?

We sat in the wine vault and enjoyed a delicious meal. I ordered the mini lobster rolls, Caesar salad with grilled chicken, and truffle fries, while my friend had the grilled shrimp, salmon, and fries. With drinks, our total came to about $250, so it's definitely a splurge-worthy dining experience. Lauren provided excellent service and was incredibly sweet and attentive. It's a gorgeous space and one of the main reasons I wanted to celebrate there. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the setting. Throughout the meal, I had to remind the staff multiple times about items we had ordered, and service felt noticeably slow. At times, it seemed like other tables were receiving more attention, which left us feeling overlooked. While the food and atmosphere were enjoyable, it wasn't the birthday experience I had hoped for. RH Rooftop has incredible potential because the space is so beautiful, but I think the service could be more attentive and consistent to match the upscale environment. Hoping this was just an off day.

The bartender was easy to talk to and gave a couple suggestions without making it feel like a sales pitch. Both dishes came out pretty quickly even though the place started filling up during happy hour. I liked the overall pace of the service since nobody rushed me to order more once I finished eating. Service was also very slow, even when it wasn't busy. Everything took longer than expected and seemed disorganized. On top of that, the bartender was rude and unwelcoming. I was also charged for another person's drink without being asked or informed; which was unacceptable and felt careless. The staff seemed "blind" to how to properly run a restaurant. For the prices being charged, I expected much better food, service, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

The food was delicious. In order of best/must try: Drink: Bloody Mary: homemade tomato juice and the hint of horseradish was perfection. Food: 1) crab Benedict- crab stuffed cakes with perfectly cooked eggs. The hollandaise sauce was delicious. 2) filet + eggs + grits. The perfect amount of grits that were creamy and delicious. The steak was super tender and eggs, again, cooked perfectly. 3) BLTA salad was super refreshing 4) Chicken + waffle -- it was okay. But take the chicken and add it to the salad-- and that was the perfect combo. Dessert: The Mud Pie was the perfect way to end the meal-- though thoroughly stuffed-- it was a top 5 of mud pies! It quickly became clear why the drinks receive high praise! They were indeed delightful and well crafted. However, my experience with the food left much to be desired. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, which were topped with a creamy sauce. Unfortunately, the dish did not meet expectations, falling short in flavor and presentation. I would rate them a mere two out of ten. Additionally, we tried the oysters, which were disappointingly bland. Even with various toppings, they lacked the fresh vibrant taste one hopes for when enjoying oysters. Regrettably, both dishes missed the mark for me so I decided not to order more food and go somewhere else. On a positive note, our server was exceptional friendly, attentive, and accommodating, which helped enhance our overall experience. The restaurant's ambiance was mature and inviting and its location is indeed impressive. Despite the high ratings and popularity, I found the food lacking, which makes me hesitant to return. While I appreciate the quality of the drinks and the warmth of the service, the culinary offerings did not live up to the hype considering the basic dishes I ordered. Go for drinks only!
