Today my son ordered the usual clam chowder in a bread bowl and after 2 bites, he said something's wrong, it tastes sour. I got spoon and tasted it, yep it was sour as if spoiled. If you ever had spoiled milk or creams, then you know. It was also what I would describe as closer to room temperature than warm. I told the staff, they were politely confused and said they have customers tell them this and there's nothing g wrong with it. What? I didn't want to cause a scene so just set it aside and didn't eat it. They apologized as they noticed we weren't eating and offered something else, but we said no thank as we didn't want to risk getting sick. This is my first and last time coming to this Sourdough & Co location. I ordered two Chicken sandwiches and they gave us two sandwiches of the complete opposite. One that was turkey and the other that was salami with pepperoni. The guy even said that it was our two chicken sandwiches, seems like they don't even know what sandwiches they're handing out to people at this location and need to communicate more with each other. I paid $45 for something that wasn't even mine. So after calling back, mentioned by the business manager, the manager of the location wasn't being helpful whatsoever. Instead of offering my money back for the food I didn't receive and in which he admitted over the phone they gave my food to someone else. They offered me either a small discount for when I come in next time or for them to make my sandwich but at this point I don't even trust the location with their customer service. I've been coming here for a while and usually really enjoy it. I stopped by recently and I noticed something that made me uncomfortable. One of the workers had a beard and wasn't wearing a beard cover while handling food. It might not seem like a big deal, but stuff like that can lead to hair getting in the food, and it just doesn't feel very clean. I think the restaurant should make sure all staff follow basic hygiene rules. I'd think twice before going back unless I saw better attention to cleanliness. read more

I'm a deli sandwich lover. I grew up on delicious sandwiches in the bay area, so I have a hard time finding good ones that curb my cravings in this area. This place is delicious! The bread is perfectly soft and chewy, the sizes are perfect and they have other options like soups and salads. I usually go for the turkey and salami and add bacon and avocado. These are upcharges, along with items such as pickles and olives, which I find a little odd. The only items with no upcharge are lettuce, tomatoes and onions. This could easily be a $15-16 sandwich for me, if I choose large size. The house sauce adds a nice flavor. The only reason I knocked one star off, is because once I ordered the turkey pesto, sandwich wrapper stated pesto and there was no pesto on it. Not sure how that works...but it was just mayo. I've tried both the side salad and the poblano soup. Both were delicious and the soup had a nice light heat to it. I'll definitely continue to try items here. read more

First of all, it took forever to be ready, the girl who was mixing the salad items together was s slow and talking to her coworker. My order was either wrong or this company has a different definition of Chili. What I received was more like Vegetable Soup. No beans or meat, and the portion was small for $7.00. Definitely going to be my new favorite spot for clam chowder and a quick meal ! My order took about 10 mins , they whipped out two clam chowders , a French dip , smoked brisket , two cookies . The staff were super nice and the bathrooms are clean, this was probably the best clam chowder I've tried here in Turlock. I had no issues with their timing like in other reviews . I do understand that during a rush there may be delays but that happens in a lot of restaurants with huge lunch rushes , my advise is to come around 10am because as I'm still sitting here , it's about to be 11am and there's already a lot of people here , they also have online orders as well so before 10am would be perfect for a quick bite . I've came here a few times and really like their salads. BUT the service is awful. I even place the order ahead and still have to wait 20 min as the employees sit and gossip. Once my order was done, I had to wait as the worker took an additional 5 minutes to bag my food. Then she put it on the counter (still behind the counter and out of my reach) and walked away while I was still standing there. I've added a picture to show all them standing and talking while I wait for someone to start making my food (that i ordered 30 min prior).
