Pool table, beer, vibes. The chef is great and so is the bartender Kitty who happens to be an amazing local artist. Made me fall in love with Beatty.

We stopped by for the pizza and were really glad we did. It's New York style with a braided corniccione, with generous hot melted cheese. The staff and locals are so friendly considering they must have to put up with a lot of tourists.

Stopped here on my way to California and I was really impressed. The Decor was really fun and I appreciate the alien theme and the cocktail movie reference. Great drinks and they have a diverse selection of sodas to make some fun drinks with. Staff was friendly and gave attentive service as well!

Great calzones, veggie Abduction and Spaghetti Western, slice of peanut butter pie also great. Western ambience and friendly owners.

Sourdough Saloon is a eclectic, unique place in the middle of Beatty, Nevada offering 100 beers to wet your whistle with a bar in the front and a snack bar in the back. Whatever finds yourself mosing in to the front bar or the smoke-free back area of the Sourdough Saloon with US currency above your head && graffiti from patrons past along with memorabilia that will keep you amused while playing pool, shuffle board or grabbing food to get rid of hangry pains from your travel adventures of the day. We grabbed ourselves a Swiss & Mushroom Burger for moi and for the hubby a Teriyaki Burger + BBQ sauce both with fries served with onion, pickle, tomato and lettuce on the side with condiments served in a handy-dandy caddy for us to put on as we liked. Burgers were handmade and a sparse amount of fries with us both opting for sodas. Both the bartender and cook were friendly but once food was ordered we weren't checked on again - we both ran out of soda before our meals with no one offering another - my husband decided to get one to-go by grabbing one himself out of the cooler. The condiment caddy had no ketchup or mayo so my burger was dry along with nothing for the fries. Food was okay (remember the dry burger) and we overheard the cook say that the night before was busy to the other couple that was in the back with us (and there were 3 guys in front with bartender) - not sure if it was an off night or ??? Overall the other place we tried to eat at was packed and we gave Sourdough a try...a bar was not my top pick...I would order food to-go from here if staying in Beatty or recommend it to someone who is comfortable with bellying up to a bar and looking for 100 beers to choose from.

We had dinner twice at Sourdough Saloon while staying in Beatty and visiting Death Valley National Park. This is a bar and a restaurant, quirky, old school, a place not for everybody, but fun to experience. You have to wear a mask to get inside, but once inside I haven't seen anyone wearing one except me and my husband. The smell of cigarette smoke hits you as soon as you get inside. Smoking indoors is allowed in Nevada. So wearing a mask had more than one purpose in my case! There's wood paneling inside and out, money on the ceiling, half a car stuck in a wall, a pool table, the decor is rich in details. The place has personality. So do the locals who start starring at you as soon as you get inside. "U-Turn" vibe? Kind of! The bar is big, the bartender was sweet and she was also serving as a waitress, felt for her since she had to do a lot. Beer wise, nothing on tap! But there's a wall full of beers, like 100 types of bottles, from classic Americana, to more local brands (Sierra Nevada), to Japanese, French (Kroenenburg), Italian (Peroni), Stella Artois, and it goes on and on. Like I said, you go and look and choose your beer while locals check you out! We settled for Negra Modela - the Dark one and ordered a Cheeseburger with fries (me) and Bacon Cheesburger with fries (my husband). They were both great, fries had some seasoning and we enjoyed them outside where they have a patio and a heat lamp, under the desert stars! Later on, we got some onion rings, wanted the spicy ones but they didn't have the seasonings (they are far from everything) and they had issues with their fryer and it took longer. They did apologize, we were in no rush, so no biggie. The onion rings were fantastic! We came back again, 2 days later since it was our anniversary (a big one!) and ordered some cocktails, settled on Mai Tai-s. Not the best ever, but decent. We also ordered a pizza , the Supreme, shared a small one. We asked them to hold the sausage, that didn't happen. The Canadian bacon was burnt! Otherwise it was OK-ish. We ate outside, on their patio, the heat lamp had no propane, so it didn't work. Luckily it was a warmer day, so was the evening! Grab your paper towels from the bar, they don't believe in napkins, not too much into utensils either. No frill place, reasonable prices, the girl working here was nice. They have a non-smoking room inside, didn't check it out due to Covid. Their on line menu and prices are accurate! If you stay in Beatty, check it out. Don't get the pizza, go for burgers and fried food instead. Not healthy, but you're on a trip, right? Didn't engage with the locals, because of Covid, but they seemed like a hoot! We were grateful to eat out in the desert, somewhere during this crazy pandemic and celebrate our anniversary in an unique way. Under the stars, old school saloon, some tales to tell!

Ever since we got to Nevada my husband had been obsessed with going to a saloon. I don't know--he's an odd duck sometimes. We had a long day in Death Valley seeing ALL THE THINGS and got back into Beatty too early for dinner. Saloon time! Sourdough is a wonderfully unpretentious place for some really good beer--the selection is seriously epic--and a little local flavor. I loved the signed dollars stapled all over everything. The service was great. We didn't try the food, but it looked to be typical bar fare. And, most importantly, my husband felt pretty satisfied he got his "saloon" experience.

    Leftover Ribs!!!!

The best Ribs. I've ever had. Between taste, tenderness, and SIZE, they are 5-star. I was craving ribs so I ordered that and my friend got the burger. 4 large delicious ribs come with the order and a side of fries and cole slaw. They have extra sauce in squeezable jars on the table. I wanted to steal the bottle and take it home it was delicious. I ate one huge rib, and let my friend try the other, and I took 2 home to eat for lunch today. Here's a picture of the leftover so you can see the size! Finger licking good. Open now during Covid at 50% capacity. You can get one of 100 beers if you order food. The bar is closed but you can sit in the back.

Ok spot. Great salon look and feel. Food... not so much. But I will take a $3 brew any day. This is a VM lonely stretch of 95 so any port in a storm

A few more than 99 beers on the wall!
    Michael R.

99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer... oh wait, they have more than 99! Me and a buddy went there a few weeks ago looking for 'shitty beers'. Sorry, its a thing we do. However, they have about 100 or so good beers that made the choice hard. So we stayed and had a few good ones!
