I had such a pleasant and very productive visit to South Beach Vision yesterday. The office is in a very nice neighborhood. The building is secured and clean. Office is very welcoming and cozy! And busy. The entire office staff is friendly, very professional (I've seen and spoke to 4 of them). Cozy and stylish seating area. They also have different brands of frames and we could find something really stylish! Sanitizers are everywhere around and also a sink with soap and paper towel. We really like it! This doctor is a true scam artist. My girlfriend Melissa went in to get a routine eye checkup, which normally costs around $80-150. They ended up charging my card $547 for a routine eye checkup. What?!!??!?! What?!?!!?! WHATTTT?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! She told them that she needed everything to be able to get her glasses online and the contacts. And she went to go buy her prescription glasses online and they didn't provide the Pupilary Distance on the prescription and are telling her she needs to come back in and pay more money. WHATT??!?!?!?!?!!?! WHAT?!??!?! I do not even understand where these 5 star reviews are coming from this, company is a complete scam and should be put out of business. I'm reporting you to the BBB. To the Florida Department of Health, Florida Attorney General, Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation, Federal Trade Commission. I had an eye emergency in the middle of my vacation in Miami. I was able to easily make an appointment for next-day assistance and was helped promptly. I ended up with a tear in my cornea. I went in for an eye exam to order glasses. The doctor was friendly and professional, but they didn't measure my pupillary distance (PD), which means I can't actually order glasses now. When I called to ask for my PD, they told me they hadn't measured it and suggested I go somewhere else to get it done. Unfortunately, that makes this visit completely useless -- and I still had to pay for it. read more

SOUTH BEACH VISION SAVED MY VACATION I lost my glasses and could not see a thing. I didn't have access to my prescription and thus needed an exam. What a great experience! I saw Dr. Kessleman and he was so patient with me! He took the time to explain the specifics of my eyes during my exam and you really feel like the whole office cares about your visual health. Juan in the front was the first to greet me and was very welcoming. Jessica brought me to the back and her infectious smile won me over. The office is clean and professional. There's street parking, hard to come by, but they valet your car at the front and the office vlalidates it. I was recommended by a friend and it was a great decision to switch over to these guys. I've been going to South Beach Vision now for a little over a year and would recommend it to others in the area for their optical needs! From the beginning, scheduling an appointment has never been difficult and they usually run on time. Most recently, when I was due for an annual eye exam, they followed up with me both via phone call and text to schedule. As a plus, Dr. Adam Stelzer happened to be my doctor when I decided to get LASIK at TLC Coral Gables which was nice, since I would also see him for my regular eye appointments at South Beach Vision. As they are located at the bottom of an apartment building, parking is via valet, but the office validates it. It's not a big space, but they do have a nicely curated selection of sunglasses and glasses you can take a look at while you wait. Overall, the staff is very pleasant, and I feel like they stay current with technology as it relates to the actual procedures. After a not so pleasant experience with another optician in Miami, I'm happy to now be with South Beach Vision! read more

I have been here three times since I moved into the Flamingo apt. building up the street. The staff here are really nice and good, and the office is so chill. They worked on my contact lens prescription and adjusted it like four times over three visits just to get it right -- and they did! Now I can see like a champ. All my other optometrists gave me a prescription and sent me on my way. Only here could I come back and say, 'I need more power! More power!' and have them up my prescription until it was perfect. I went there just because I needed my prescription to renew my contact lenses. I made an appointment and they were very flexible and seemed professional. From the start, everything perfect. Until I got the bill. The exam is supposed to be covered by my insurance (I have to pay $25.00 as a deductible), however as I asked also for a contact lenses prescription the final amount was the triple than expected. It is not about the final amount, but it's the fact that I had to pay extra for the same procedure. They gave me contacts lenses "for free" so I can try them and they were horrible. I've been using contact lenses since I was 16 (I'm now 26) and I never had a problem. This was the first time. My recommendation: If you want to have your lenses prescription it is a 5 star service. If you need anything else, then I definitively don't recommend them. read more

I recently had my first appointment at South Beach Vision for an eye exam which I hadn't had in about 5 years because I have pretty good vision. I was led to this office and one other one through my insurance and ended up going with South Beach Vision because I found the receptionist at my other option rude and also couldn't be fit in for an appointment with them for a couple of weeks. Eduardo was very pleasant and scheduled me for that Saturday, a schedule I appreciate as I work a 9-5. The office is located inside the lobby of The Waverly condo building in South Beach. There's metered parking in the area or also valet in the building that gets validated by the office. The office itself is very clean and modern and has a pretty nice selection of eyeglasses. I was seen by a tech and Dr. Kesselman, both who were also very pleasant and knowledgeable. My examination was very thorough and not rushed. Considering I hadn't had an eye exam in so long, I couldn't remember what to expect but the staff made the experience very comforting. I'm excited to have found a new optometrist and look forward to keeping up with my annual eye exams at this office. read more

I needed an updated prescription and getting in here back in November 2018 was very easy. I think they took my insurance, too. Fast forward to August 2019, and I have moved out of state, and I can't find my glasses prescription. I emailed them to request a copy of it and they were able to get it to me almost instantly. The office is new, clean, bright- everything you would want in a doctor's office. The staff is very professional and helpful. They helped me pick out glasses and noted my picks in my chart for when I am ready for new ones. However, the real reason I came was to get daily contacts. For the last 4 years my eyes have been very, very dry to the point where I can't even wear 2-week contacts like I used to. They bothered me even on day 1. Dr. Kesselman (who I think is only there certain days of the week) was wonderful in helping me find a solution to my dry eye problem. I am using Restasis which has helped significantly, and I tried a few different types and brands of daily contact lenses before finding one that really works for me. Dr. Kesselman was very patient and worked with me over the course of about 2 weeks trying different lenses for a few days each time. He was careful about making sure they fit correctly on my eye, and he was happy to explain the differences in the lenses when I had questions. In the end he was able to help me find a daily contact lens that really works and I am SO, SO happy to be able to wear contacts again! I wear multifocal contact lenses, which are a game changer for anyone who wears progressive lens glasses. Finding doctors who understand and can find the right prescription for multifocal contacts is really hard - most don't get it and you have to get contacts for distance, then get glasses to read. After moving to Miami, I needed a new eye doc and went to South Beach Vision based on reviews. I cannot rate them high enough, Yelp needs more stars for South Beach Vision! Not only did they find the right prescription for me, they gave me lots of trials to make sure I was comfortable with the lenses before buying. Bar none, the best optometrist and the coolest practice I've ever been to! I had the BEST experience here when I went in for an annual check up and to pick out some new glasses. For starters, the office is immaculate. Parking was super easy, as I was able to valet and walk right in (it's in the lobby of the Waverly building). They even validated my ticket so it really couldn't have been any easier. The doctor is friendly and down-to-earth - unlike many I've seen in the past. The equipment is all state-of-the art and I was so surprised at how interactive the doctor was with me during the exam. He explained everything that he was doing during the exam and was even able to show me a picture of the inside of my eye! The staff was very knowledgeable and honest when it came to helping me pick out glasses. I really appreciated their help and honesty. I ended up picking out a really unique pair of glasses that I now love to wear and I've had so many compliments on them already. The selection of frames is really vast and not your run-of-the-mill stuff; they are all trendy and unique frames. Getting all of this at a really reasonable price was the cherry on top! I really enjoy supporting a local business owner especially when you can experience how much hard work, care, and thoroughness that was put into the practice. Also, the receptionist is the best receptionist I have ever encountered in multiple states, hands down. His name is Juan. The office is located in a very high end building. Excellent service! From the moment I called a very friendly voice was able to get me an appointment right away. As soon as I got to the office I was taken care of immediately. My vision was thoroughly checked. Between the assistant and the doctor, they took about 45 minutes. I was explained everything in detailed. The process of purchasing the glasses was simple. Most places want to "push" the very expensive frames, but I was offered different options. I felt comfortable letting the person that was helping know that I was not able to afford very expensive frames. He understood and was very helpful helping me find something nice and not expensive.
