I ended up using them anyways as the person emailed me and apologized for the late response. I didn't really want to go through the trouble of looking anymore. Two guys showed up at my place. They called me a few times to let me know their estimated time of arrival, which I can appreciate. I thought one of them was a little "less enthusiastic about his work" than the other. Overall the did a pretty good job. One of my bookcases got a little damaged, but not enough to get upset. They were careful with the furniture and covered everything before placing them in the moving trailer. I'm just glad I am moved and out of there. I would recommend them, but just make sure you know who you spoke with and call them if necessary. read more

This has been a long time coming, I DO NOT write many reviews but when I have used a good company like South Coast Movers a company that has moved me twice in the last few years and both times were great, I just have to compliment this company. From the booking agents to the movers, all great and the movers I had both times were very professional and fast but careful with my furniture. I was refereed to this company years ago by some friends who actually still use them with the same great comments about South Coast Movers years later. I may need one more move in this lifetime and will call South Coast Movers. I have to say I was really excited to find movers that were accommodating and very reasonable. The person I spoke on the phone with was very polite and so were the movers. They arrived 30 mins late from the 2 hr window that we were given, but they did call to tell us they were running behind because of the rain. That was no big deal because it gave us time to clean and move stuff around so it was easier for them to move. The move took way longer than we thought and that was my fault. I underestimated how much stuff we had. So we offered to help the guys move some of the lighter items. Those are the reasons I'm giving them a star. After the move and endless water bottles we supplied them. We are left with a broken coffee table, a broke entertainment center, scratched up new sectional and brand new decorative table, broken one of a kind beer glasses (that were individually wrapped in bubble wrapped marked fragile on the box), and some personal belongings soaked in cleaning liquids. The movers used the dollies to load up as much as they could and pushed them down the stairs. They didn't seem to care that they had flipped the boxes over or read the boxes marked fragile. They even flipped our big furniture over to make sure they could just use the dolly, that's where some of the pieces broke and got scratched. They also placed heavy boxes on top of upside down tables resulting in our coffee table breaking. There's so much more I could elaborate on but it makes me sad that people can be so careless with other people's belongs. They even made a comment about how nice our things were. Guess we get to try and replace the nice things they broke after paying them a nice chunk and foolishly tipping them a generous amount. I booked them thinking they were a company I used a few years ago, I was greatly mistaken and will not be making that same mistake in the future. I suggest you only use this company if you're stuff is not priceless or "nice" as they put it. read more

IMost accommodating movers. I did research for a while on movers, and ultimately decided on another company at first, only because of their slightly higher review scores. Bad idea! When my first set of movers bailed on me DAY OF my move, I called this company and they were able to get movers to me within 2 hours of calling, for a move from Houston to Dallas. Jeff was professional, attentive, and so incredibly understanding during an already stressful time. Very good experience with this company. Moved my son to Austin yesterday. It was pouring down rain and they wrapped all his furniture in pads and plastic. I was able to schedule my move on 2 days notice. The man I spoke with was very friendly and accommodating. I got a text the morning of which gave me a time they'd arrive and the movers called about 30 minutes before they got to me. The two movers were friendly, quick and careful with my belongings. They set things in my new house where I wanted and even hooked up my washer and dryer. I am so God damn pissed with this company!! I don't know who is running this company, but my experience was not one of delight. Too long to put here, but here's the just. I scheduled a move between 11a-1p and 2p came and noone was here. I purposely gave them an hour pass the scheduled time, because I'm understanding and I understand how moves work. I call them and was told I should've called earlier. Then he tells me he will check to see if a crew can come out asap, because my crew was sent somewhere else. He also said they would take half off. He called back again and said they have a crew who was in sugarland area and it would be about an hour or more, but that they also had another crew who was near me, by like a mile . That crew would be done in 30 minutes or so. I chose the closer crew. . . Since they were so close... supposedly. An hour and a half later, at 3:30 PM, some guys show up. Nice guys I doubt they had any clue what was going on. They get everything in the truck about an hour later. We head out. I have EZtag, so I took the toll road to avoid the "After school/work traffic". I dont know what route they took, but I know they ran into bad traffic. It took them just about an hour and a half to get to my new house. I am so upset, because I purposely chose the time frame that I chose to avoid the traffic, which avoids higher costs and plus everyone hates traffic to begin with. It ended being a 4 hour move, when it should've only taken less than 3 hours. They didnt finish until around 7:30 PM. At this time I'm supposed to be at dinner with my parents. South Coast Movers, basically robbed me of my day/evening. I'm in disbelief on how my experience with this company turned out. I will not be recommending them. I would recommend the two guys that did the move, though. They were good and very nice and weren't with South Coast Movers. South Coast most likely called them last minute to help out, because they screwed up. It isn't fair at all, I have already started spreading the word... DO NOT USE SOUTH COAST MOVERS!!! read more

Movers, professional movers was what I was looking for in Houston Texas and found that moving company! After weeding through moving companies on line, I found South Coast Movers. I got my move quote via email after doing the really easy on line move form. The price for my move was really great and about what I wanted to budget toward my move. The movers came out on time and went over my inventory with me from room to room. Their invoice inventory and move cost was the same as my email quote. I had about 12 extra boxes so we added them into my bill. I already knew what the extra cost would be for the boxes because their prices are on line...so that was painless, no out of the air inflated add on prices. They handled my furniture like the professional movers they were which surprised me (in a funny way noting a fact) that just because you pay for a professional company does not mean you will get professional work. South Coast Movers did a great job from start to finish. I had scheduled South Coast after being referred by my boss. I had them set up 3 weeks prior. When moving day came, my window was 9-11am and I took the entire day off to move. I was expecting furniture delivery at my new apartment between 6-midnight so I thought I would have plenty of time. It had been raining constantly for the last 2 days but most movers are rain or shine so I didn't think it would be an issue at all; it rains over half the year in Houston. I was moving my things out of my parents house into my new apartment across town. I got a call at 845 saying that they were looking for people willing to reschedule. I told the man no and he immediately began having a rude attitude with me. He told me the movers would still be out there and would call me in about an hour. Long story short, I didn't hear anything for almost 2 hours and called back and the man again was very rude and basically told me that they were very busy from the reschedules the day before and they would be out at 1130 and would call me 30 minutes before their arrival. I never received a call and went with another company as they could fit me in and were sending 3 men for the price that South Coast was going to charge for 2. Beware.. if you need to move on a specific date, I would NOT use this company. Trying to reschedule people and then being rude to them when they say no is extremely unprofessional and unnecessary. I would have appreciated a phone call the night before and I could have potentially made alternative arrangements with work to be off a different day or had they been honest with the ETA of the movers, I could have gotten some other tasks completed had I known they would be there after the window opens. Some friends have used these guys several times before, and they recently moved three of us out of a town home. Previous experience being good enough for repeat business, we gave South Coast a call, and got an estimate significantly lower than other, perhaps more traditional, movers - about $70 an hour. They gave us a time range when they would be available, having another move earlier that day, and at about a quarter to 2 last Saturday, two guys in a truck with a sizeable trailer met me at my storage facility. These guys are master puzzle solvers - I'd put my money on them at some sort of live-action Tetris competition. They had my 7-1/2x10' storage shed neatly packed in the trailer in no time, dropped it off at my new place, then went back to our town home for another load. Three and a half hours later, they had both places empty and unloaded at the new abode. With that extra trip fee, it came out to an even $300. An excellent deal for the amount of stuff we had and the speed with which they accomplished the moves. These gents are a hard working bunch, and it's well worth giving them a call or a page view. read more

These guys are BAD. Slow crews, bid said "truck" but only an old (small) trailer showed up, and they were completely rude in person. They accomplished their goal of milking out the time it took to complete the move and drive their fees up. Well I found southcoastmovers.com through Yelp. I am a newbie. I took the advise HERE below...went online at their site filled out the really easy form. I got my quote back with a really GOOD price. It was for a flat rate, I have heard about hourly rates and did not want to go that route. I just wanted a cost for my move and got it. My movers called me 1/2 hour before they got here, I had my emailed quote (in hand) just in case something was not right. The guy read off my inventory exact! along with the exact price on his invoice. They did a great job and fast too! When they were done I felt they would charge me more for something (I guess because they seemed to nice and professional and something needed to go wrong but that's just me.) He ask me If I needed anything else moved or set up...I told him every thing was in place...He ask me how I'd like to pay, I charged and signed off on the exact amount from the very start!
