Love going to Ace Hardware store when I need something for the home and it's not a big project! I love going for light bulbs, cleaners, batteries, flash lights! Every time there's a hurricane coming I go to this particular store to get all my hurricane supplies! The staff is very helpful, they're knowledgeable and eager to help! They have really good customer service! The guys take you to the aisle of the supplies that you need and help you make the best choice! They don't only have hardware supplies, they also sell spices, candy, thermoses, water bottles, etc. and other Knick knacks, they carry very cute supplies for women as well! Needed a new tension shower bar. Was greeted immediately on entrance, and was directed to the aisle for shower rods. The two sales agents there were very friendly, commented on my Nicklaus Children's Hospital T-shirt, and we had a friendly conversation while I selected a shower rod. The staff at the check-out helped me set up an Ace Hardware account so I can take advantage of future deals and discounts. I've been patronizing various South Miami Ace Hardware locations since 1973. I definitely recommend this one. If you need basic tools, home goods, hardware, and DIY Supplies, shop Ace versus Home Depot. Unbelievable, when I went to the register the first words from the guy were all sales final. It was a crescent wrench and a pvc plumbing part. Ace Hardware staff saved the day! Was at an Easter party today and were missing an important piece for the bar tap. We ran to Ace Hardware to buy the piece. What we thought was an easy task turned out to be quite the opposite. The staff at the hardware store could not have been more pleasant or helpful. To begin, this place has a very well palnned out system for customer service. We walked in and immediately were asked what we needed. That person sent us to the correct aisle. As we were on our way, he radioed for the first available clerk to meet us there. We were met and immediately helped. Unheard of!! It turned out that our issue was a lot more complicated than expected. Five associates came to us during the time we were there to help. Eventually, the manager came and took the time to find the combination of parts we needed to go back and get the party going. The staff at this place is very knowledgeable and clearly take pride in what they do and helping others. Highly recommend!! read more

The team at this particular location are: Helpful, kind, friendly, service oriented, profesional, charming and I could go on and on about them without ever truly describing how totally amazing this team is. Each time you walk in it's such a pleasant shopping experience, not only do you get greeted by everyone that works there but someone is always happy to help you find what you're looking for. It's not be the mammoth home store that the staff members run from customers and everything you need is out of stock. When this Ace first opened it was 5 Star. Lately it has gone completely downhill. My last two visits have been completely unsatisfactory. Specifically, on my last visit I needed replacement of a toilet flush piece. I was told by the clerk that I needed to buy the OEM part for $25 instead of the same universal fit part that was currently in place for 8 years that had worked fine but just failed. The universal fit part was available at only $8 instead of the $25 he wanted to sell me. I was going to follow the clerks advice and buy the $25 oem part when I asked him whether he guaranteed it would fit. He stated he thought so but that since it was a toilet part, once I tried it and "got wet" it could not be returned or exchanged. What? Really? So I told him I wouldn't risk it and would look for the part somewhere else and left. This entire conversation was overheard by the manager who was close by and offered no input as I walked out. This is not acceptable. To make a long story short, I went to the nearby True Value Hardware in South Miami and was recommended and sold the oem part for $8 which fit and worked perfectly. Ace you lost a customer. Management needs to go back to the service they provided when this location first opened. read more

The worst service I have ever received in over 40 years in South Florida. I purchased a Titan Tankless water heater for over $500. My electrician installed the water heater. It gave hot water for only two days. I returned to the store asking either for a new unit or a refund. The person in charge rudely stated that the store would do neither, that I would have to take it up with the factory. I showed him the Ace receipt which clearly stated that returns were accepted for 30 days from purchase. His answer was, "Not for that product." Because I went to the Ace store at 4 p.m. on a Friday, I was unable to take the heater to the factory until the following Monday, as the factory is not open on weekends. That left my family without hot water for 3 days. When taking the defective unit to the factory, I noticed that the connections inside the heater were quite stained, strange for a supposedly new unit used only two days. The factory replaced the heater with a new one which is now working fine. Given the stains on the connections, I now believe that Ace sold me a used heater which tuned out to be defective. In short, given the unpleasant and truly unacceptable experience I had at Ace in South Miami, I cannot state more clearly my recommendation to not do business with this store. read more

After the art store closed, I was pleasantly surprised to eventually see Ace Hardware pop up at this South Miami location. An online purchase brought me in for my first visit. While on a quest for the perfect garden cart, the big box stores didn't quite have what I was looking for. I decided to check acehardware.com and voilà, the perfect wagon was in stock at this location. I placed the online order and headed here to pick up the cart. Once I arrived, I was greeted and immediately assisted. My transaction was simple and I was even asked if I needed assistance loading the cart into my vehicle. Since my initial visit, I've returned for a few miscellaneous items. The store continues to be well stocked, organized and easy to navigate. I find the employees knowledgeable and friendly. Although this is an odd shaped building, there is plenty of available parking. At first glance you think there is limited parking but once you drive in, you will notice additional parking spaces that you can't initially see when you drive in from Dixie Hwy. In summary, in this age of big box stores, smaller hardware stores still have an important role in our community. They have a lot to offer and give you a personal experience that isn't always found elsewhere. read more

I was taking care of a plumbing problem on my own yesterday. I needed some cartridges for my shower faucet and another part that needed to be replaced. There are several big box hardware stores closer to my house (which were not helpful), but the drive into South Miami is worth it. You are greeted as soon as you walk in the door and everyone there has a glad to help you locate what you need and offer helpful advice. Do yourself a favor and skip the aggravation of the big box stores and come straight here. Best Ace Hardware in town! read more

Total scam artists. I was told that they had a "1 day only" grill deal that offered a $150 grill discount, next day delivery, and a grill cover for $1,350 on a Napoleon. I asked to be able to buy it the next morning since it was my day off. They said no, I have 1 hour to get to the store. So I left work, fought traffic, got to the store 20 mins after speaking to them and the guy was gone. His manager told me that they would not honor the "deal" because there was no such deal and that they couldn't deliver the next day anyway. The whole thing was a total scam. Pressure tactics to force a sale. No focus on honesty and the customer. Just slime ball sales tactics. read more

Today my husband & I were fortunate to find this gem of a hardware store. We were greeted warmly by the cashiers and staff. We were at the store to find a specific metric screw to replace a motorcycle part. Lo and behold to our benefit we met Bryan who not only offered to help us locate the screw we needed. After getting us our metric screw i asked for 6 threaded inserts which are furniture replacement parts. Again Bryan jumped in to help us. Bryan is young but very mature in his approach to his work. He's an asset to this hardware store. He's exactly why I'll always go to Ace Hardware before going to either Home Depot or Lowes. Bryan thank you for helping us today.
