I've wanted to do a paddle boarding eco tour for a while now. After a lot of research I found one that I was happy with at South Florida Paddle. Why you ask? I would say my biggest reason was location. The location (Lake Worth Lagoon/Munyon Island) is a preserved area and really shows you what Florida looked like before it was overly populated. Once you are out on the lagoon you feel cut off from the world which is awesome, especially since you are only separated by some mangrove trees. After I decided the location I contacted SFP and spoke to Marissa. I let her know I was organizing a large group of us to go out (12 of us in total) and she not only gave us an awesome group discount but she set up a private link so everyone could pay separately and only the people in my group could access it! One great tip I will give you is that the meet up location is just past Macarthur Beach Park and it is on the east side (left) of the road. It is not a building it is just the road. You will see the truck and trailer with all the paddle boards as your clue. Parking is free! Another good tip is to wear swim shoes if you have them. Not necessarily for the paddle boarding but for when you take your break on Munyon Island. The beach is pretty rocky and it's an untouched island so if you want to explore it a little, having shoes would be ideal. I actually found a hermit crab as soon as we landed but wished I remembered my swim shoes so I could have explored the island more (next time for sure!). Marissa our guide also provided us with water during our break. She really knows a lot about the area and I think we all learned a lot about the island and the animals on land and in the sea around us. It is really something you have to experience for yourself to really appreciate it. After a short review on safety and some tips on how to properly paddle board we went out one by one, out on the lagoon, such a beautiful view I might add. The day was perfect as well not a cloud in the sky. I have been on a paddle board before but many people in my group have never been. Some were fairly nervous but soon realized that it wasn't that hard to do and felt confident fairly quickly. It was great to see everyone working together as a team, and despite only a few falls in the water lol, I think everyone did awesome and had a great time. We saw a dolphin, sting rays, flying fish and some cool birds while we were out. It was definitely an amazing day! They also offer night time tours and many others so they have a lot to choose from. I am already thinking about the next tour to book! Maybe one of the LED night time guided Full Moon tours! If you are looking for something different and want a unique way to learn more about the area and just want something FUN to do then go paddle boarding! Trust me it's great for beginners and you will not regret this amazing experience of being out on the water so close to nature. read more

Amazing experience in Florida, rented boards from South Florida paddle, and went on an adventure for 3 hrs. They delivered the board on time, very reliable! We saw manatees, rays, turtles, and lots of fish! We brought along our snorkel gear so we could stop and snorkel along the way, which turned out to be a great idea. Took the 10:45 Eco tour during the summer and it was great! Loved that the starting point was in a shallow area of singer island because you always saw the bottom. Marissa was very patient with the group and taught us all some tricks on how to balance on the board. It was a very informative tour and she would point out different plants and animals. We took a couple of water breaks so everyone could rest a bit which was useful since it was so hot. Wonderful tour - so happy we made it our first paddle boarding experience. Marissa took plenty of pictures of the group and posted them on facebook later in the day so we could have them. South Florida paddle is our FAVORITE place to rent a paddle board and explore the Jupiter area. The morning rental special is the best deal around 4 hours for 30 dollars can't beat that. The drop off area is easy to find and parking is free at the park. The location cannot be beat so many areas to explore. We love paddling out to the crystal clear waters around the lighthouse at high tide. Going under the bridge to the Jupiter sandbar is gorgeous too. An easier route is over to Fullerton Island just as beautiful in the mangrove area and a lot of marine to be seen. We always spot sea turtles and stingrays, and more often then not we see MANATEES. We have even seen dolphins in the area!! Fantastic area to paddle board with the BEST rates in town! read more

A few days late on my review, but better late than never seeing how great this experience was. We went out Saturday morning for UYE prepared by the lovely Jennifer. I have never been paddle boarding and am not going to lie I'm gravitationally challenged so I was certain I would fall within seconds of trying to stand up. The instructor was awesome. She took her time to explain how to get up and maintain your balance and go figure I didn't fall! Yay me... And well, her of course for showing me how not to fall. It was a two hour paddle. Although the water wasn't very clear that day, we did get to see a dolphin, a manatee, and some crazy fish. She also took her time to give us some history of the island and of the wild life around there. The weather was perfect and it was an awesome work out too! This was one of my BEST adventures ever!!! I've never been paddle boarding before and prior to getting started, Marissa gave my husband and I a detailed tutorial of how to maneuver the paddle board and what to expect. I started out on my knees and within 5 minutes I was standing up and also within 5 minutes I wiped out!!!! It was great!!! Marissa never once got impatient with me even though I kept falling off the paddle board and at one point was tangled up in the mangroves . She came to my rescue each time, asked if I was okay, and we continued the tour. Meanwhile, my husband was playing it safe and was on his knees the entire time. The path we took was serene, beautiful, and filled with wildlife. We saw various fish, pelicans, and seagulls. We were hoping to see some manatees, but the tour was excellent nevertheless. Midway into the tour, I was a pro! I was able to steadily stand up most of the way, but sat my butt back into knee position when the wind picked up. Marissa was very knowledgeable about the area and was able to answer the many questions I had about paddling and the wildlife. This tour was part of my 15-year anniversary and we are definitely coming back with our children. Thanks Marissa for adding excitement to my anniversary trip!!!! YOU ROCK!!! read more

My bestie and I went on the ECO tour with Marissa as our guide and neither of us were disappointed. Both of us had been paddle boarding in the past and this by far exceeds any experience either of us had. Our tour saw an aggregation of manatees, sting rays, and beautiful mangroves. Jennifer S was kind enough to organize a UYE paddleboarding Saturday and since I had never been before, I figured it was as good a time as any to test my balance. She was able to book us an early morning eco tour, and by guaranteeing them 12 people on the tour we were able to get a great price at about $30 per person. We all arrived (somewhat reluctantly) around 8:30 am. This isn't a physical building, everyone just meets up on the side of the road. Marissa gave us some basic paperwork to fill out and a quick overview of the day. She asked how many first timers there were and it was pretty much all of us. She gave some general paddleboarding tips, but told us it's just really best to get out there and see how it works. I was nervous, I just pictured myself constantly teetering off the paddleboard. We got in the water with our boards and all started from a seated position. From there as we paddled we started to build confidence getting up on our knees, and finally to standing. It's really quite a bit more stable than I ever imagined a floating board would be. I'll admit I fell off once, but it was honestly more of a mental thing than anything else, you're more stable than you think you are. We paddled around an island and Marissa was able to give us a little history for the area. The water was a little murky (we have had a lot of rain and the canals are draining stirring things up more than usual) so wildlife observation wasn't quite what I had hoped. Marissa was able to point out to use a dolphin and a few spotted eagle rays, but since it was my first time I was focused so much on paddling and staying upright that I didn't see much more than jumping fish and a few cool birds. After about a 40 minute paddle we took a break on the island beach. Marissa had brought us water and gave us some time to explore a little. The island has a raised path running through it, which is a little harsh on your feet (we had left our shoes at the launch site) but a serene adventure. After our island exploration break we paddled maybe a half hour back to the launch site. I'm very proud of myself (and our whole group for that matter) for going on my first paddleboarding adventure. It was a great workout, and it is much easier than you think it will be. I'm assuming going back a second time would be exponentially better just because will already have the mindset than you can stand up on the floating board and get a steady footing. I would definitely recommend Marissa and South Florida Paddle. Marissa was super helpful even before the date emailing me back when I had a question. I really need to come back now that I've built up my confidence. Without constantly worrying about tipping over, I'm sure I will be able to experience the wildlife with more appreciation. read more

Oh my goodness! Marissa was awesome. I was incredibly nervous going paddle boarding for the first time. How do you get up and stay on the board.. was the question I kept asking myself. But Marissa gave great advice and tips so before I knew it was I paddling along like a champ! I actually had a blast and am looking into purchasing a board myself. She was very knowledgable of currents, marine life, the area, paddling boarding obviously, and was very patient and kind. I went paddle boarding for the first time and had a great time! I was in a group of 5 friends, all of us first-timers. The owner was very good at explaining how to stand up on the board and we all felt comfortable. The board and paddle were top notch products. The owner also knows so much about the singer island area and marine life. We saw manatees, sting ray, lots of fish, and horseshoe crab. Terrific way to start the day. We paddled along the mangrove trees in the Lake Worth inlet at MacArthur State Park. Marisa was a terrific guide, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We visited Munyon Island, a sweet protected area that I never knew existed. A very special experience. Next time I want to try the sunset paddles. Marisa explained the lights are on the bottom of the boards and come in different colors. She said you control your own colors and it is very cool to see the fish below in the evening. read more

I bought a $50 groupon for south Florida paddle, scheduled a tour, and my boyfriend got sick so we cancelled. We did so ahead of time and got confirmation of the cancellation. For over a month following the cancellation, I tried to reach the company to inquire about how to reschedule. I left two voicemails, called a number that no one answers, and sent several emails. Finally, after my groupon expired and they knew I would have to pay additionally, they responded that they were "sorry they never got any voicemails" from me and instructed me to reschedule using a code they updated in groupon, which was now expired and charging me an additional fee. I proceeded to forward them the multiple inquiries I had sent via email to which they never responded, and ultimately caused me to let me groupon expire before rescheduling. I must say I wasn't surprised, and expressed that I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't answer in my email. I've given up trying to contact them and am now trying to get a refund through groupon which I will unlikely get. Very underhanded business ethics, and I feel they took advantage of people after receiving a surplus of reservations from groupon. read more
