Best Pizza in Islamorada 11-Star Experience! South Island Pizza delivered one of the best meals we've had in the Keys. Amanda and her family run this place with unbeatable kindness, speed, and true pride in their food. The slices are huge, the crust is perfect, the garlic knots are addictive, and even the burgers are next-level good. The service is lightning fast, the dining room is spotless, and you feel like family the moment you sit down. If you're anywhere near Islamorada, stop what you're doing and try this place you'll be glad you did. Highly recommended!

The special of the day was a stuffed whole fried fish with stir fry steak and steak ($64... ) I love to order a platter of mixed fried seafood when I go to these places, and they didnt have that. It was either fried shrimp or fried fish alone as options.. i ended up ordering the Fried calamari as my meal. (I really wasnt in the mood for anything else and i tend to always order the fish tacos everywhere i go, so Alex told me to try something else). It was nothing special. The portion was on the smaller side. No tentacles. And I asked for the same sauce that came with the fritters cuz i dont like marinara. The hubby ordered Miso marinated Tuna steak.. he said it was good but it really wasn't what the menu said. The sauce was not an aoili.. it was a teriyaki sauce and there was no crispy onion flakes. He said if he knew the sauce was going to be like that he would have asked for something different. The best part of the whole meal was the homemade Key lime pie.. we both enjoyed it. It was our first key lime pie in the area so we didnt have anything to compare it to.. We will probably pass on this place the next time we come down. But thats all part of our adventures!

One thing you'll notice pretty quickly in the Keys is that many restaurants close fairly early, and this one closes at 10 p.m., so we always make sure to get there in time. I've eaten at both the bar and at a table. This year, since my nephew was with us, we grabbed a table and enjoyed another great meal. My absolute favorite dish here is the fish topped with a generous portion of crab. It is absolutely incredible! Funny enough, years ago I actually ordered the pistachio-crusted fish, but the kitchen accidentally brought me the fish with crab instead. Let's just say I wasn't disappointed by that mistake! On this trip, I finally tried the pistachio-crusted fish, and it was delicious too. My nephew couldn't stop talking about the seafood linguine. It was loaded with seafood, and he absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is one of the best parts of dining here. The waterfront views are beautiful, and you can choose to sit under the tiki hut or kick off your shoes and enjoy the sand beneath your feet. It's such a relaxing place to unwind after a day in the Keys. We've also had the coconut shrimp, which comes with an amazing dipping sauce that I'd definitely recommend. For drinks, I tried their espresso martini for the first time. They add cocoa to it, which I've never seen before. It definitely caught me by surprise, but in a good way. I always enjoy when a bartender puts a creative spin on a classic cocktail instead of making the same version everyone else serves. Between the beautiful setting, delicious food, and laid-back atmosphere, this is a place we look forward to visiting every year.

The restaurant was not completely packed so I honestly don't even know what to owe the experience to. Seating was actually quite nice by the water and you can even pull up in your boat. It has a chill, laid back atmosphere. We were seated quickly as there was a table open, and our server came and took our drink orders...It was almost from the get to, our server just wasn't listening to us. My husband ordered a Corona and I ordered a coke, he repeated it back as just water, and I repeated myself, No a coke please... A few minutes later he came back with drinks...and my Coke was actually a diet Coke, at this point, I just sucked it up and kept my mouth shut because I was thirsty. We ordered appetizers...my husband ordered chicken wings, emphasizing the heat level to be Hot...he repeated back the order and he said ok chicken wings mild, again we repeated ourselves, no not mild...please make them hot. I also ordered a side of fries because unfortunately there are no vegetarian appetizers on the menu. Our apps arrived, fries were great, but lo and behold, the chicken wings were totally mild. No biggie - at this point- I am still optimistic...we were able to get the server's attention and asked for another Corona and a side of hot sauce, we also ordered our meals since we didn't think there would be such an issue with the hot sauce and beer...while we wait approx 10-15 minutes our food arrives but we never saw our server again with the Corona or hot sauce, my soda was empty at this point and the majority of the chicken wings were untouched since he didn't have hot sauce or anything to wash it down with. Also to add, my veggie roll came with no soy sauce or chopsticks...just the dish with the roll and the ginger and wasabi...so we waited another 10-15 minutes with just our food sitting in front of us untouched until a girl running food from the kitchen noticed and asked what was wrong...we proceeded to explain that our server was just terrible. A bus boy also notices and joins our conversation and they both ask if we would like to speak to the manager. Prior to the manager arriving, our server finally shows up and while I am trying to explain everything we need, he literally starts walking away while I am talking and just keeps talking to me over his shoulder. I was like what is going on here? I couldn't even order another soda because at this point that was empty too...We ate our meals because we were hungry but the veggie roll was just meh and the mahi tacos were obviously quite cold by the time we were able to consume our meal The manager came over, we expressed our concerns, meal was comp'd (not our intention) - we walked out and will never be walking back in again.
