I always say mistakes happen -- what matters most is how a restaurant handles them. I ordered carryout from Driftwood in Marathon: chicken fingers from the grill, which are supposed to come with French fries. There's a separate appetizer version that doesn't include fries, and that's what I was given by mistake. When I called, the employee remembered my order and said she thought it was the appetizer. Then she said the simplest words many places forget: "I'm sorry for the inconvenience." She immediately offered options -- refund the fries or drop off a fresh order. I chose the fries. Within minutes, they delivered a full container of hot, delicious fries to my door -- even though I had chosen carryout. The driver apologized again and even included cookies. This is how you make it right for a customer. The food is really good, and the management is even better. Highly recommend giving this place a try. read more

I am in the Keys twice a year and the first night, I always get Driftwood Pizza carnivore and a garlic cheese bread. It has always been good until this year. When I was down in April, the cheese bread was decent but the pizza was chewy. Tonight, I tried them again. Pizza was soggy and flat. Garlic cheese had no garlic butter on it and cheese was nowhere near melted. I do not think I will try them again next year when I come back. read more

I received two phone calls from the delivery person, however when I answered, no one replied and the phone call ended as if the delivery person hung up. I called the number back and although the call went through, there was no response from the driver. My husband waited at the marina entrance for over an hour and said no delivery car entered. When I called Driftwood to see where my order was, I was told that they tried to deliver and then tried to call me twice. When they weren't successful, they took the order back to the business. I went here last night for dinner because my boyfriend was craving pizza. The food was actually pretty good, just like Steve's Pizza on US1 in Miami Florida. Big and filling. The total was in the $90 for 3 pizzas, and several 2 liters. 16 inch The pizza were average in flavor, light on sauce and cheese. We come to the Keys every 3-5 years. Driftwood Pizza is in our meal plans each time. The pizza has a delicious, chewy crust. They out plenty of toppings on each pie. An added plus, this pizza is just as good as a cold leftover the next day. My kids had pasta for dinner. The order was a generous portion of noodles, sauce, and meatballs. The marinara and meat sauce are equally good. It would be down to a personal preference when it comes to picking a sauce. Finally, we had to add an order of garlic knots.
