We live in the neighborhood and needed some work done on our car. The older man seems to be the owner and son helps with services. They appeared to be attentive but when discussing pricing they are very shady. Was quoted $600 for break work and then received a ticket price of over $2800 for basic work that didn't even fix the original problem (break issue). I have brought several cars here for service and even though they are quite pricy the cars got fixed. But i recently brought in my son's car for brakes and I don't think I will be going back. They called to say all 4 brakes and ball joint need to be replaced. Ok well I want him safe so ok. $1400 later we pick up and the check engine light is on air doesn't work and brakes are making a terrible noise. We bring it back next morning and the older man test drove it said he didn't hear anything and cleared the check engine code and it should be fine. What? I told him my son was driving to Texas and I didn't want it to brake down on the way. He assured me it was fine. I felt like he didn't want to be bothered. A 14 hour drive to Texas and 4 hours in no air condition and check engine light and brake noise again. Now he is helpless. He had to drive rest of way with windows open and slower Thank god he made it. Auto repair in Texas told us the brake plates were not installed properly snd they fixed them. Noise gone. Thermostat was broken (not sure why no issue before) and they changed it and air cold again. I think my time with this marathon is done. read more

This is a really bad place don't go here. They scammed my elderly mother out of thousands of dollars, every time she went there they lied about what she needed and she just agreed to whatever they said. They told her she needed all new brakes, all new tires, even though all those things were already put on recently and were in good shape. They charged her for weird random things we've never heard of before, and her regular oil changes were always $800! They don't keep normal customer service records and make the customer look up the record number so they can supposedly look through their files for it; this is how they added on a bunch of weird unnecessary charges for her car by saying well we don't know if it was done or not, even though "it" wasn't causing any problems and wasn't even a real thing as far as I can tell. They tell you they're not going to do the work until they call and let you know what they're going to do and how much it's going to be but instead they actually go ahead and do the work anyway and then charge you for it. No respect, no boundaries. Liars. Scam artists and creeps. I don't know if they do this to men or if they're just misogynists. This is the closest gas station to my house, but I rarely go here. It is located at the intersection of Devon and Talcott (where the Blues Brothers' car chase was filmed). It is sort of difficult to get to unless you are heading east and the lights can take quite a while to cycle through. The gas here is typically $0.10 - $0.15 higher per gallon than the stations on Touhy. They have a very limited convenience store attached to an in house mechanic shop. I haven't gotten anything done there, but they do offer reasonable oil changes. There is a free air pump out back which has helped me out a few times when I had a damaged tire. This is a decent place to stop and get gas, but if you have time you can get a better deal a mile or so away at Thorntons or Shell. read more

I had an awful experience with the owners Joe and Danny. They charged me 2000.00 for brakes and shocks on my ordinary Buick LeSable. I grew up here, right down the street from this gas station, and I promise you I no longer go near this station. They will lie right to your face. Not only that, but one owner Danny, will declare that he is the owner, then, a week later, he's telling me he's not the owner. The old guy Joe, when I called the station to discuss the robbery at hand, he started SCREAMING at me. I repeat, the man, Joe, screamed and yelled at me until I hung up the phone. They just repaired my BRAKES 5 months ago ! Insisting they wouldn't charge me the full amount for the second round of brakes, when all they do is double up on the cost of labor. I went in for an oil change and they didn't know how to reset the oil light change. They were extremely rude and said the oil light didn't work. I brought the car in when the light went on to get an oil change . I brought it to Lightning Lube in Chicago and he reset it in 2 minutes and no charge. read more

Danny and Joe and great. I brought my old car to them because it was making some engine noises. They could have sold me an expensive valve job, but instead they showed me what the problem was and how it was a minor issue that was easily corrected with an oil additive. Even though, they could had other cars they could have been working on, they spent a lot of time with my car. I didn't even have to leave it there for diagnosis--they did it while I waited! To win over my son for waiting with dad, Joe gave my son a lollipop too. They even have free air too! read more

I came in the shop the other day to ask a question about my car because I was unsure of something, and one of the workers there was so helpful and kind, he had the up most respect and helped me with whatever questions I had. I've been here many times and every single time I have, its been pleasant. I'm satisfied with their business and will continue coming here. The worker that had helped me seem to genuinely care and was concerned about the car.You could tell he wanted to help and was happy to do so. He could've easily gave me yes or no answers but instead he explained thoroughly what I had to do, which was great. So thank you to WILL, you are truly are HUGE help. South Park Marathon is absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend this auto shop to anyone living in Park Ridge area or surrounding areas. They will take on work that they have no idea how to fix or the equipment to test it. I spent thousands getting in a new motor installed just to have it stall, not start and breakdown numerous times. Each time (4) they said it would be fixed, but it never was. I ended up bringing it to another shop, and for another $5000 the car run impeccable. I brought my truck in 08/24/10. Did not hear back from them, they did not call or attempt to make any contact. My son went there to see what was going on. They informed him that they had replaced the distributor and crank sensor. They did this work without first informing me. On Saturday 08/28/10 I went back they told me it was the computer, and that they could not find one. My son told them that the local chevy dealer had six computers. Today I went back and I asked them why they were not working on it, they told me my son had told them to stop working on it. My son said no such thing, I know this because he had me on the phone when he was talking to them. I am now having my truck towed out of there shop. They are thee WORST mechanic I have been around. I suspect they had no clue what was going on with the truck. I cannot believe they wouldn't just tell me they didn't know what was wrong. I will never go back, and I would caution anyone from going to South Park Marathon, unless you need a oil change or something because even they couldn't screw that up, at least I hope. read more
