Outstanding and what Aptos needs. I've been coming here a dozen times in the last year, for breakfast, brunch, dinner, or a quick coffee, a beer or glass of wine, to chat up the friendly local staff, watch a game on the tvs, or listen to the variety of great live bands. Dos Bros, Hall Pass, Men in Black and others have played here. It's becoming the meeting place at Aptos, as it has well-earned. Isaac, the owner, and his team have done a GREAT job of offering quality and variety of locally sourced higher-end food with a newly hired chef, and artisanal and carefully selected beer and wine. All of this at a reasonable price. To top it off, Isaac and his staff give back to the Aptos community in many ways (hiring high school/college students, fund raisers, etc.). And, they're expanding their patio options for outside dining. I don't understand and don't agree with the occasional negative reviews here. As a business owner with many reviews I get that comes with the territory, but South Point always has gone above and beyond for me and everyone I know who has been here. I'd like to give this place 5 stars because I think the food is really good, the drinks are great, the atmosphere is very well put together, and the service is awesome. However, they are incredibly inconsistent when it comes to letting customers know when they are open or not and following their own timeframe of business hours. I'll look online and it will say they are open, but 9/10 times when I drive down to go there, they are actually closed. I am sure it's really hard to run a small business (especially one that opened during Covid) but I'd just like more clarity and responsibility to come from the owner of this place who, in my experience, isn't very reliable. The employees seem to be the ones that hold this place together. I'd love to spend more time there, but I am often forced to take my money elsewhere due to poor management. We stopped by to pick up some breakfast before a long drive home. We ordered a breakfast burrito and a peanut butter and jelly bagel. Both food options were fine. Bagel was nothing special but it's a bagel so you wouldn't expect anything special. I did not try it but my wife really enjoyed her burrito. Would have been four stars but for the drinks. We ordered lattes with oatmilk. The lattes were hot so we did not try them until we were in the car and almost on the freeway. When we did try them, we were disappointed to find they had used soy milk, not oat milk. I strongly dislike the flavor of soy milk so this ruined the coffee for me. read more

Like many other places the prices have gone up substantially and if the place had the customer service and ambiance and quality to support the pricing that would not stop me from going. However, the service is slow, staff has loud personal conversations overriding customers trying to visit and the quality is average. It needs management attention. read more

This place is owned by locals and they opened right before COVID hit the world. This is the FIRST summer that they are officially open! Such a great addition to this area. They have coffee shop essentials in the AM and a great local beer+kombucha on tap and wine! They even have awesome to-go cans for the beach. Overall the best beer and hangout spot in Aptos. Tried this for the first time. Unfortunately our drinks were bland (we had ordered four drinks). The coffee itself tasted old - possibly bad beans. On the bottom of my mocha, there was a clump of chocolate that did not mix in. Just overall poorly made. The staff was unprofessional - mostly on their phones and working at a very slow place. How exciting to have the Chamber of Commerce officially welcome South Point to The neighborhood! Owner, Isaac, and his team have converted this former coffee shop into a gem of a venue. They have renovated the interior and are constantly working on updates. The new chef has just created a delectable farm to table menu, so you can be assured you're eating locally farmed creative deliciousness. There is clearly attention to food quality and my avocados were of perfect consistency and were served without the stems. Excellent for breakfast and lunch, and family friendly. The business before this one was AWFUL the owner was the worst and made me feel so uncomfortable for just supporting his business. So I stopped going there until someone told me it got new ownership and really turned things around. I do wish it were a little more cozy in there but the clean modern look seems to be the thing these days. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place if you're in the area. All I have to say is YES YES YES!! The new owners are wonderful! They let us have a party for 55 people there last month-- their new catering menu was just right: sausage bites, garlic pretzel bites, fruit platter, teriyaki wings, and they let us bring our own cakes. Of course their beer (and wine) selections were a big hit with everyone. Teresa and Isaac (owners) were super attentive as was Josh the bartender. They really made the evening special. Calling all locals...if you haven't been here - go today. We had a lovely afternoon sipping local beer on the patio. We ordered the vegetarian sliders (came with fries) and an order of chicken wings. The sliders and fries were absolutely delicious. Sauteed vegetables served on a very soft brioche. As a vegetarian, I did not personally try the wings, but they were devoured by the rest in my group.
