Southdown pizza has been here since we were kids. When we moved back to huntington with three kids we tried all the places. We didn't go here much and it was not our favorite. We moved away and the place got new owners and the place is much better. Comments from our party were: the sauce was very tasty, chicken in chicken parm was dry. Eggplant was tasty, but it was sliced so thin that the overwhelming flavor was bread crumb. I don't understand why most places do that. Cooks faster? Garlic knots were nice with a good chew. Pizza was thicker than the original Southdown, but better with a good chewy crust, good sauce and tons of cheese.

I love going down south round the back of southdown

I wanted to make some claim like "you can only find good pizza in the north", but I feel like such a blanket statement would let the Southdown. Besides, why make a blanket statement when this summer is wayyyyy too hot to be using blankets anyway. Really good Long Island Pizza available at Southdown Kitchen, and that's what I usually come here for. It's dirt-cheap for slices and they're very tasty indeed. Not my fave slice in Huntington (that honour goes to Little Vincent's), but definitely top three and definitely one of the better ones on Long Island. Easily Five Star Pizza. There. I said it. And: I really have got my "uncouth" down And I'll show you while we eat Southdown Just take of your undies And I'll take off my onesies Then relax while I slide my big mouthdown.

Tried this place for the first time because we got one of those coupons in the mail for a cheese pie, a meatball hero, a dozen garlic knots and a baked ziti for $30! That's a great deal in any inflationary era where gas is over $4/gallon. While the pizza could have used another minute or two, the sauce was good. The knots were ok, but kinda doughy, the baked ziti was the worst of the bunch as it lacked flavor, as bland as boiled ziti without sauce, but! ......the meatball hero was off the hook! Excellent meatballs, great flavor, good texture and tasted great! I'd go there just for the hero. I'd never go back without the coupon though. Broadway pizza is better for their pies.

    a slice of cheeseburger pizza

Worst pizza I've ever had. We got this pizza because we saw it on the cover of Newsday... we were so excited and it unfortunately was not what we expected. The Big Mac pizza was clearly not a Big Mac but cheese burger ingredients on a piece of pizza dough. There is no big mac speciality sauce taste, and the cheese is clearly just squares of Kraft thrown on it. Way too over priced!!! We wanted to have a closer pizza spot to us but we will be back to American Pie Bar in East Islip for theirs!!!

Love this place! Consistently good pizza... my favorite is the spinach artichoke slice! Quick, friendly service too.

Ordered an eggplant parm and it was very dry. Won't be ordering from here again.

It's slightly better than dominoes and 3x as expensive. Might be a fun place if it were bumble****…read moremiddle America, but this is long island where pretty much any generic pizza place staffed by teenagers is always a good choice. If you want to pay $70 for one app and two small dry pies with minimal cheese/toppings and tough mediocre crust this is your place I guess. That being said, it's still pizza so it was fine. Go to Rosas instead and significantly better and cheaper pies with high quality ingredients, but if you must have an "artissinal" pie, head over to Ella's. Still not worth it but much better.

Dead Chef's Tasting Menu at At 1654 Pizza Company - A Gold Coast Supper Club Experience Last night on Long Island's Gold Coast, I had the pleasure of experiencing something truly special: Dead Chef's tasting menu at At 1654 Pizza Company in Huntington. What unfolded wasn't just a dinner, but a full-on culinary performance that transformed the idea of a neighborhood pizza spot into a hidden gem supper club. The evening unfolded course after course, each dish layered with creativity, bold flavors, and a touch of surprise. From refined takes on comfort food to plates that made you pause and savor every detail, it was clear that this wasn't a typical night out--it was a carefully curated journey meant to linger in memory. The atmosphere matched the menu: intimate, buzzing with energy, and elevated by a sense of discovery. Every dish felt like a conversation, and the storytelling behind the flavors was as captivating as the food itself. Outstanding is the only word that fits--yet still feels like an understatement. This wasn't just a meal; it was an experience that makes you excited for what's next.
