Very poor customer service pay bill threaten to shut off service. Not all there fault Ca voters caused most of the problem!!

I know a lot of people have had a bad experience. But this review is to my experience. Yesterday, due to the high hurricane winds we've been having, a tree fell in our street and it hit one of the power lines. And our electricity was out. Edison r addressed the situation and we got our power back in 15 hours later. We're very grateful for their hard work, especially during these critical and difficult times. read more

We had our power shut off last week and had to put in a new part. the guy who came out to turn off our power said to just call them and they would turn the power on so that is what we did. while they did a good job turning the power off they didn't turn the power back on. it's been 8 days now and we went to there call there and emailed them but they still haven't came out to turn it back on. read more

Extremely UNRELIABLE. Angola,Iraq, & Afghanistan had better services even during the war. SCE will send an email hours AFTER service's been restored stating we'll experience an outage.. Power outages without warning or explanation love how you can't even speak to anyone at SCE, you go on their app and it's not working you go on the website and it's not working. Actually negative ten stars. At least!! No power from Tuesday evening to Saturday afternoon. Now no power again since noon today (Monday) with power unlikely to be restored at best until late Wednesday if not Thursday. All because of their negligence to maintain their infrastructure so it can withstand winds and not trigger wildfires. Which it did anyway!! Trying to get a live person on the phone is a task in itself, but the really frustrating part is them shutting power off for the psps claiming high wind fire danger and it's not even breezy outside! Every year they shut power off claiming to be making upgrades to lines etc etc., yet every year in Nov they shut our power off for high winds that don't exist! 100% agree but I don't think Edison has employees. So many phone numbers and no live person in over 2 weeks. I have solar and after verifying my panels are working SCE is stealing my solar and charging me for their electricity. No wonder I can't reach them. It's 11:39 pm now and still no power.when I called the answering machine said it's being worked on,so I drove arround the area.No trucks in sight anywhere fixing anytging whatsoever! It's hot,my house has 4 heart patients. The refrigerated meds are starting to go bad. Edison lied about the repairs,but oh they are ready to charge you a huge summer bill would they have treated their families the same way? I hope one day you experience the same liars! Trash. Outages all the time and no response. No way to get ahold of anyone on the phone.

They bill you any rate they want as a surprise every month. They "estimate" $100 or $200 extra and plan to collect that rather than using the meter. Most insane concept that I have ever heard of! 0 Zero stars. I received a letter to fax over documents and when I call the number in the letter it's definitely not user friendly. It cuts you off. Had to go on line and call another # told them I faxed over documents with sensitive information, they confirmed i sent it to the correct fax #, but it was never received!WTF? The customer service rep said that the faxes sometimes get smudged and the documents are trashed. Then why in the hell does SCE instruct to fax!!! Just instruct to do it on line! Im really upset because I faxed over documents with sensitive information and it was a hassle to go over fed ex and fax each document and be charged... then to find out SCE never received it because most likely it was smudge on the receiving end! wish we had options to go with another service. read more

SoCal Edison does not use email or chat for the ir Customer Service contact, only telephone. I called in to ask about upgrading the main panel for my house to charge a future electric vehicle. I was on hold for over an hour and a half, and when I was able to talk to someone, she did not understand why I was asking the question because she admitted she was not an engineer or electrician. When I tried to explain my question, she hung up on me. I was not being rude or abusive; I was just trying to help her understand the problem. How in the world is someone supposed to speak to an actual Edison employee? Calling their phone number leads to a recording telling you to take care of your issue online. Going online did not offer me what I needed, so in desperation, I went to the education center in Irwindale. A nice security guard took pity on me when I could not find any actual Edison employees. He gave me a phone number and address to the Rosemead office. I called the phone number, went through six menus, finally hit number four to speak to an actual person, and waited almost an hour for someone to come on the line. In frustration, I hung up and wondered, "With all the rate increases, why can't Edison offer better service?" What are we really getting for the outrageous fees we pay on a monthly basis? If anyone from Edison reading this actually cares to contact me, please reply to this review with a phone number that will lead to a person who can help me! read more

Would give zero stars if I could. Very unreliable service, constant power failures without any notice and constant screwups with repairs resulting in more down times. SCE reps entered my property without consent, got on my roof, and turned off my power in the middle of the work day (both my husband and I work from home). They rung the doorbell just once before helping themselves to trespass--both I and my husband were on calls at the time and unable to answer the door. When I complained to customer service the agent was apologetic but gave no way to escalate the situation after multiple requests. They're lucky they have a monopoly as I certainly wouldn't use their service if I could help it. read more

This is the absolute WORST company. If I could give a negative rating I would. I was locked out of my account for a clerical error that I had my bank call to fix and instead of helping, this company made it so it was nearly impossible to pay my bills and then charges me for their own idiocy. Also when you try to call their customer service line it will only lead you down a rabbit hole of button options and that get you no closer to fixing your issue and then they eventually hang up with you. So beyond mad at Edison. We live in North Fontana, have lived here for 10 years. This year they decide as public safety measure that they are going to turn our power off every day or so for 2-3 days at a time. I have a 18 month old baby with very bad asthma, who requires a nebulizer. During the months of October to April is the worst for his asthma due to the winds, yet Edison continues to turn our power off and when he can't breathe I can't use his steroid and nebulizer! I would give this shitty ass company ZERO stars if I could. I'm pregnant, like ANY DAY AWAY, and I'm sick as a dog, and they turned off our power. They also waited until my bill was $580 to tell us we weren't on automatic payments like we had originally set it up to be. Also, a Customer service representative HUNG UP ON ME while I was making a complaint on the phone. And why is it so hard to talk to a representative? I had to chose an option that had NOTHING to do with me just so I could speak to someone. The option to speak with a representative should be on the first damn menu. Terrible company. Southern California Edison is horrible! How they keep turning off our power for high winds is ridiculous!! They say it's to prevent fires, yet fires are still happening. Southern CA Edison turned off our electricity for 24 hours. For my neighborhood that is a DEATH SENTENCE. No internet, no cell service, no TV or radio in our area. So if there is a fire I would not know until I could see the fire or smell it. All my neighbors had to empty our refrigerators since all is spoiled. I had just stocked in for winter. We live in a semi-rural area & without electricity it means we will not get notice if there is a fire. Edison shut off many neighborhoods arbitrarily for no good reason. They recently lost a suit and so want to make up the money by not having to pay their line men to work overtime. They use excuses such as big winds. I have lived here for 19 years and they never did this before. It is illegal to do this and dangerous for families living here. It is not based in fact but is entirely a cost saving for Edison. This has to be stopped. I am going to encourage a group suit against Edison if this dangerous situation continues. Many areas with higher winds had electricity. This is a sham. read more

This review is NOT about the service of SCE but the drivers. I drive past them 3 times per day and only wait to see what they will do to us driving down the street. Today at 7:17 by ITT Tech truck pulls across 2 lanes, almost into the side street (not quite he didn't). I had to change lanes to miss hitting him. No lights on in rainy weather, no direction light or emergency lights. I pass him and he then proceeded to make a U-turn. I moved and had my mail transferred called them and informed SCE on Aug 14th and they still kept mailing bills to my old address until Sept. Your telling me with all their customer service they pay for obviously not trained right they still mail my bills to my old address and then turn my electricity off tell me it's my fault. I talk to a manager he says he will help and turn it back on at 11:59 in the afternoon and set up payment arrangements. And they still don't turn my electricity on I get home fr and m work at 10pm it's the middle of summer 105 degrees today. I have a 5 year old and I'm low income. And they still don't give a shit!! . I call well we sent the signal but there's nothing we can do if it doesn't go on we will send someone out in the morning sorry about your luck.
