I am enjoying my patio, it looks nice but I had some issues I want to mention…read more The demolition was fast, but not done as I wanted. Even though I was home, they never checked with me. They did save some of the good posts and beams as I had asked. When installation came, they took my wood! They did not completely replaced the rotting fascia, as I was told they would during the sale. There were some unfinished points that were corrected after several calls. The shades I had were not able to be reused because they were too heavy for the aluminum so Wilfred volunteered to run to Home Depot to get some. But...when I asked for the receipt I was told it would be e mailed, which never happened. After several calls and e mails. i finally went to Home Depot myself and found out he had charged me about double. I sent a message with pictures but still no answer. I am a senior person who trusted and was grateful. Very disappointing.

Extremely Disappointed - Warranty Ignored Despite Multiple Follow-Ups…read more I'm genuinely disappointed that I have to leave this review just to try and get a response. In 2023, I purchased a large custom awning for my backyard, paying over $13,000. I was told it came with a warranty, which was one of the main reasons I chose this company. In April 2024, I noticed one of the corners had started tearing. I called the company immediately. The receptionist, Pam, mentioned she was retiring and gave me John's direct number. When I spoke with John, he said he needed to verify my warranty. A few days later, he confirmed it and told me that Brian would be contacting me to take care of the issue. I spoke with Brian on May 6 and even included a screenshot of our conversation. Since then, I've followed up multiple times via phone and text. He promised to schedule a tarp pickup--but never showed up. No updates, no calls back. Completely unreliable. As a repeat customer--having purchased not one but two awnings from this company--I expected better. The quality of their work is good, but that means nothing if they disappear the moment you need warranty support. If you're considering working with this company, be warned: they may deliver a great product, but if something goes wrong, you're on your own. The lack of communication and accountability is incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. I truly hope this review gets their attention, because I'd still like to see this handled the right way. If the company makes this right, I will gladly remove this review. But as of now, I cannot recommend them.

Mario came to the house and measured the windows in question and showed me their thick binder of cloth examples. I picked a cloth that I liked and paid a deposit so they could start manufacturing the frames and awning cloths to fit. About three weeks later, I was given a date they would like to install the awnings and I agreed. Three weeks later, Mario said they were ready and asked if I was ready for install. All good. Have waited 8 months with little to show for our patio cover project. The limited communication we have had has come only from our continued inquires into when the cover will be completed. The delay's started like everything else in 2020, COVID related as everybody was performing work on their homes. After a couple months, the delay's shifted to the manufacturer not having available product and then escalated from a bad part on the machine (which makes our IRP Insulated Roof Panel) to the machine going completely offline. Now, 8 months later, we have 3 columns installed with no cover and a BBQ island and pool we cannot finish due to the cover and related projects needing to be completed. Worst of all, SoCal cannot even provide us an estimate as to when the project will be complete, it's the "maybe in a couple weeks" speech over and over, months and months later. I understand reasonable delay's and business going awry from time to time, but I fail to accept the lack of communication regarding a project so far past due. Failing to want to engage with a customer due to having to address a serious problem is simply poor customer service. I've been told on several occasions somebody would look into our project and get back with us with some real answers only to be met with zero contact thereafter. After all our research and the multiple high mark reviews, SoCal was hyped as the best around, not the case on this project. It's easy to throw the blame on the manufacturer which is all we've heard to date, it's another thing to make something happen and I fail to believe that all options have been exhausted in this case. Warranty is Null. Buyer beware. We had our patio installed in 2013. Over time, the vertical beams have corroded through. When we contacted the company for a resolution or repair, we got the "run-around." They were so nice when we were purchasing our 10 x 40 patio cover with added fans and lights. Eventually, I got a call back, and at the initial response, the woman stated it was definitely a warranty issue and a defect in the product that they rarely see. After a few more days, she sent me to Amerimax, where "Heath Morgan" asked for pictures; which I sent. Heath Morgan immediately emailed me back stating that dog urine is very corrosive, and therefore not covered by the warranty. First off, we don't have a dog urinating on All 5 of our patio beams! Secondly, when I sent the pictures, I responded to Heath's email with that & that the beams were just sprayed off so as to show the rusted through holes. It has been over a month, and not one word! What a crooked company to not honor their warranty. I would never recommend Amerimax Alumawood patron covers or So. cal Patio covers to any family member or friend. They will take your money, and then leave you high and dry if there is an issue. Also, there is no mention of anything (including dog urine) having any ability to corrode their "amazing" product. Oh, and my neighbors patio cover was also done by them & is doing the exact same thing...oh, and they also have no dogs! See for yourself. read more

Call Southern California Patios if you want honest and fair pricing, a reliable and timely crew and a great-looking patio cover. So, this review is beyond overdue, as my patio cover was installed in August 2015. But, since then I can attest that this beautiful structure has held up nicely during the wind and rain and has allowed me, my friends and family to enjoy my backyard as much as I'd hoped. This company has installed patio covers for others in my neighborhood and received equally good reviews from those I've talked to. Kyle provided a prompt and fair quote and both he and his guys worked with me to find solutions when competing priorities on either side threatened delays in the project. The crew was respectful of my yard/property throughout the install as well. When I had questions about options or expressed preferences on where they staged material, etc. the Southern California Patios team was responsive and went with the flow. I had done some homework on patio covers before talking with Kyle and as a single mom, it was encouraging to have a good experience with a straightforward contractor who was consistently respectful and never made me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about. We called Kyle based on the recommendation of a good friend, and we are so glad we did! We had a wooden patio that we were very happy with, but we were tired of maintaining the rotting wood and peeling paint. Kyle assured us he could duplicate the look, and he and his crew succeeded. Actually, we like the new cover even more because Kyle's brother was able to raise the height of the cover just a little, and that one little inch made a huge difference! Tear-down was loud and messy, but the guys building the cover kept the work space clean and neat -- always tidying up every evening before going home. They even installed some light fixtures, which was greatly appreciated. We had a few questions during the process, and Kyle returned texts very quickly and clearly explained everything -- even including photos to help us visualize the final product. He is very accessible and always willing to talk to you -- despite his hectic schedule! Kudos to everyone at Southern California Patios for making this a very positive experience. If you are considering an Alumawood patio cover look no further than Southern California Patios. They are an amazing and professional company, even coming in as less expensive than other companies we contacted. My husband called for a quote and Jaime, who's in charge of Orange County, came out promptly. He studied, analyzed and measured our home to come up with the design, which was no easy feat, considering it involved four separate patio structures on two levels combined for one continuous patio cover. The result was two covered patios, another cover with lattice and a fourth higher cover with lattice over the spa. The entire team was hardworking and professional, not only courteous to us but to each other. The site was completely cleaned after each day and after the initial teardown, took only two days for completion of the project. We have received so many compliments from family and friends and are beyond thrilled with the final result. So Cal Patios was great. I have a concrete area and patio cover that needed to be redone. I'm in Huntington Beach Ca and the city isn't always so easy to deal with but with a little finesse they got it handled in fine timing. First they showed up one day and did the demo and footings dug out. It only took one day for that. Crew was very nice and very efficient. The next day we had the inspection which was passed no problem. After that they showed up 2 days later. (We did get delayed one day). But having done a bunch of construction projects over the years I'm very aware in this business the original date was only an estimated date. As good as this company Is I understand it's impossible to predict everything. But this company is better at it then any company I've ever hired and 1 day is not going to make or break me. We are talking 4 days start to finish. No other company has ever delivered like this. The patio and concrete came out absolutely beautiful. About a year ago, my wife and I were referred to Kyle at Southern California Patios. We had just invested $35K in landscaping and concrete work, but we needed to finish off the backyard with a patio cover. The work by Kyle and crew was outstanding. They completed the work on time as promised and cleaned up after themselves to the point that it was impossible to know they had been in our backyard other than the fact that we now had a beautiful patio cover that matched the color of our stamped concrete. It was/is amazing! Now a year later we decided to add on an extension to cover the full length of our patio. I should have done this previously, but thought at the time it was not necessary. We contacted Kyle again and as in the past Southern California Patios has done a phenomenal job in extending the patio cover. Side and rear insulated patio covers have been great additions to our home. Like other reviewers, we decided on Southern California Patios after review of two other contractor bids. Kyles side kick, Bill Wilcox, came to our home in a Mission Viejo, CA retirement community and discussed all the different Alumawood options. I think we were the first to select a 'can light strip' for our solid insulated rear cover, and we're happy Kyle agreed to have one installed. Bill, Jake and Craig worked their butts off in 95 degree heat for three days. Our neighbors have commented on the nice look. The old wood lattice covers had to be torn down due to termite damage. THAT will never happen again. You guys can add a couple of HAPPY CAMPERS to your list of satisfied customers. read more

I had a great experience with so cal patios. I dealt with Kyle Kelly who had the best customer service. His whole crew and staff were professional to the last second. His crew came in to install my patio and they were experts at what they were doing. Super friendly people and honest !!! The prices were the best compared to all the other competitors. Steve came out and measured for the estimate and was right on time and provided me with a very reasonable estimate on the spot. I was so impressed that I set up the install appointment right then and there... no need to discuss with the boss (wife). On installation day, the whole crew arrived ready to work and demolished my old patio in no time. They had the new one up and looking great within a matter of about 8 hours. I just bought another house and was in immediate need to have my backyard patio redone. I called so cal patios again since I went through them last time and was not disappointed. The estimators came out promptly and were super professional and had a great attitude. They even went ahead and gave me a great deal and went above and beyond on things that i didn't expect they would do for me. These are guys are the best in the business. We had Kyle install a patio cover last June and his company did a great job. Kyle was very straight forward and easy to deal with. The price was good and the installation was done quickly. However, during installation a spike used to mount the patio header on the wall accidently penetrated a plumbing pipe. We did not find that out until we had plumbing problems a few months ago. When we told Kyle, he immediately paid all the costs associated with the plumbing problem, which were not cheap. I recommend Kyle because he has integrity, is honest, and stands behind his work. read more

Kyle and his team were great. He was really responsive by e-mail, texts, and calls. It basically only took them a day to finish it. I was a little worried as I planned on a party on Saturday and they only had materials dropped off Thursday. They pulled a 12 hour day and finished it all for me. There was an issue with a fan, but Kirk came back to finish that. During the party, I had nothing but compliments on the new patio. Everything looked great. They did the permit and helped me with plans to submit to HOA. Very happy with the new patio and highly recommend them. read more

Additionally, greater attention to detail during the permitting process is needed to ensure complete and accurate site information is submitted from the outset. I was genuinely excited when I signed my contract and even recommended the company to friends based on my initial impression. Unfortunately, the lack of communication, delays, and overall project management ultimately led me to cancel the project, which was disappointing. The most frustrating aspect was being charged $630 from my deposit despite the delays stemming from repeated failures to follow the City's clear permitting requirements and instructions. As a customer, it is difficult to justify absorbing those costs when the issues originated from the permitting process rather than from any action on my part
