Brewery #386 This was my 5th and final brewery of the day (no worries, I spaced them out, so my senses were still intact.....I think). Southern Space was down a tree lined road kind of in the woods in a very nice space. I didn't get to see what the outside area was like (If there was one) but I did see they had a large front porch to hang out at. We got here around 8 or 9 pm and I ordered my usual flight. The place was happening; country music was playing which is not to my taste but at least it wasn't quiet. My flight consisted of a Bombshell Blonde, a Bombshell Hefeweizen, Bombshell Smash IPA, and a Valkyrie (DIPA). Why isn't this place just called Bombshell brewing? Anyway. The beers were all decent but nothing that wow'd me. If I had to pick a favorite, it would probably have been the Hefe. They had a kitchen onsite serving up burgers, pizzas and all the fried apps that places usually do. Unfortunately, we had already eaten so I can't really report on that.

Stopped into Southern Star shortly after we moved her to check them out. Not a bad little brewery. We were really impressed by the Bombshell Blond Ale and the Buried Hatchet Stout. These were two really good beers. After that, the other options were not as appealing or tasty. Little disappointed that they only had a limited amount of beer on tap but really enjoyed the upstairs section of the brewery. Nice views outside. The beer tenders were not the friendliest of people and really expected more out of them for a weekday afternoon. Overall, a good experience and worth stopping in to see what they have to offer

I visited Southern Star Brewery for the first time this past weekend for a friend's event and I was so impressed! While there, I tried a bunch of the beers (definitely check out their Stout), did a brewery tour and enjoyed meeting new people! The brewery itself is very clean, well laid out and great for big groups (we were in their upstairs event space). As for the staff... you won't find a friendlier group of people. The owners and bartenders were all there to chat, answer questions and share their knowledge about their beers. This was such a fun place to visit for a Saturday afternoon and I can't wait to visit again!

Smash burger and fries are fantastic! They let you sample the beer. Owner was awesome (and handsome) and passionate about his craft. Lots of seating indoor and outdoor seating. Bathrooms are clean and tidy. SSB is less of a brewery, and more of a voyage into the vast sea fermented hops and succulent meats.

That's the last two bites left!

If you love burgers like I do, check out Southern Star Brewing Company burgers. If you're like me, you eat your fries first and then your burger. Here, it was the opposite. I had the double patty and I didn't put it down. It has a buttery soft bun with crunchy pickles and some sort of magic sauce!

Ok I took a bottle 32oz to get filled up and got charged 4 Bombshell Hefeweizen that's 4 x 16oz total of $30.31 that is total rip off as the bottle would only take 2 pints 32oz. I am hoping that manager call me else I am going to call the credit card company

5 Southern Stars! A good variety of brews! I had a delicious stout. The bartender was very helpful in making sure I got something I would enjoy. And the price tag was very affordable. If I lived here, I would be a regular.

We were spending our weekend on Lake Conroe and remembered the brewing company was near by. We loved the outdoor patio and the weather was amazing (November)! The staff was friendly and let us sample some beers to try the right one! The chicken sandwich with chipotle sauce was yummy! We enjoyed the Octoberfest beer and can't wait to return!

Still my favorite brewery. They service is unparalleled and they variety of options for a small brewery are awesome. Keith made sure that we were well taken care of and helped us ensure our party was a success. I am so grateful to have Southern Star Brewery as a local option for us.

Had a fantastic time. The GM Chris is knowledgeable about the beers on tap and can always guide you to something you'll love. He said the burgers are the best around, and they did not disappoint! Definitely five stars for the service, food, and atmosphere!

Terrible food. Beer is warm. Staff was rude and service is slow. It smells bad. Like something is off in the bar area.

I first thought it was wallpaper made to look like Life magazine pages, but some pages seemed to be peeling. I don't mind reading hemorrhoid ads from the 60's while drinking my beer per se, just an observation. The furniture was mismatched like estate sale items picked up from people who wanted to think they were high class in the 1960's. You could probably still smell Lucky Stripes every time you sat on the seat cushions. There was no music playing and there were only 6 or 7 (don't you dare do that 6-7 thing with your hands while reading this!) other people inside. So, I had to listen to this pretentious group talking about opera, the child welfare system and other topics while their noses were up and pinkies were out. There was an older guy on the opposite end of the room that seemed to be loudly mocking them. He thanked me for coming as I was leaving.... was he the owner? LOL. I ordered my standard flight from a very nice lady that seemed to be new. I got 2 IPA's (Mongoose Slayer and Striker IPA) that were solid, a Black Venom stout that was ok and a Belgian Quad (Medusa) that I wasn't fond of. There are no food options, but I assume there are food trucks from time to time. The outdoor area has a few games and tables and a more normal atmosphere. If they had some music to drown out Lilith and Frasier, I'd go back and give them a try.

We came here to watch a game that of course, no else cared about inside so we opted to sit outside because we were also with my kids. Took them forever to put it on and hook up the sound. After awhile more people started joining in and watching with us but it's hot in TX and there's no fans out there, plus the food comes out and the flies just swarm you. It took a guy to come help us out on a makeshift fly repellant to make our experience a little better. Server was not attentive at all and was worried about other things I guess. The food was decent, but trying to get a server and keep one was very challenging. At one point, we seen all the waitresses walking around the cement walkway together far away from customers.... Just hanging out. Not only were we irritated, but I could see that others were as well. My husband had to go to the bar and get a beer since we couldn't find our waitress. The bartender ignored him and continued her story to another employee while my husband stood there. She finished her story and then took his order. This was on a Sunday around 2 PM so it wasn't extremely busy. The service was very disappointing and we won't be back. The two star rating is because the food was decent.

The ladyfriend and I came in here one Saturday night and they only had 1 bartender working so it took forever for the guy to take out order. When we did finally order, I just got a single beer because I didn't want to order a flight and get him further behind. The selection was small. The 1st two options I asked for they were out of, so I settled on a West Coast IPA called Pine Mill. It drank more like a hazy which is what I wanted to begin with so that part was good. The bad part was it came with about 3 inches of foam on top. th The ladyfriend ordered the Miracle City Pilsner and it was overly carbonated. The place itself is beautiful. Fass has that old classic bar look from a century ago. They had pizza and I think one or 2 more things on the menu. I wasn't about to try to anything outside of a one and done beer. If I am ever in this part of the world again, I will give them another try because I really liked the atmosphere.

We had a group of 10 on a Thursday evening and were the only customers on the patio for most of our visit. I want to make it clear that our waitress was excellent. She was attentive, hardworking, and did her best despite being repeatedly let down by the kitchen and management. Several orders were prepared incorrectly. A steak ordered "as rare as possible" arrived medium-well. It was remade, but still was not cooked as requested. My catfish platter was strangely lukewarm, while another guest described her catfish as rubbery. An order of fish and chips arrived without the chips. A pizza ordered with bacon, pepperoni, and onions came with grilled onions that were not requested, and the bacon smelled and tasted off. Another guest ordered loaded potatoes as her entire meal. Without warning, she was charged $8 for what was described as a double portion, even though she never requested a double order. What arrived appeared to be approximately one cup of roasted potatoes and did not look like a double serving or a complete meal. When we asked to speak with a manager, Andi told us that she had to answer to the kitchen manager and could not address the charge. She then said she was busy and walked away without offering a solution. When I attempted to explain the problems from this visit and the previous week, I was told that the owner, Teek, is usually at the newest location except on Tuesdays, is difficult for the staff to reach, and that I would need to find him myself rather than having management take my contact information and request that he call me. Restaurants make mistakes, but repeated incorrect orders, questionable food quality, missing items, unexplained charges, and dismissive management are not a single mistake. They are a pattern. Our waitress deserved much better support, and our group deserved food prepared as ordered and concerns handled professionally. After two bad experiences in a row, Pacific Yard House has permanently lost our business.
