Fantastic find right along the main drive. Great selection of brews and beverages, nice outdoor patio, fantastic service, and excellent, quality ingredients. We found our go to pizza place and will definite be back!

My wife and I had some business to conduct out in Hockley and my wife's brother suggested that we take a certain route home to avoid toll roads and we might like the drive. Well, it turned out to be the LONG way around. But, we did find this little gem in Plantersville that we have returned to many times. Approaching lunch time, I saw that there was a taproom a couple of miles down the road and we figured that they would also have food. Boy did they! We popped in about five minutes before they actually opened but were still greeted with smiles and welcome in's. A big beautiful tap room, a big outdoor area, and a gigantic beautiful 100 year old oak tree out front really made this place look nice. We had a seat and looked through their 23 craft beers on tap and make a choice. Apparently, they had left over tacos from an event the day before so we went with that and a plate of Brat Nachos; diced brat with sauteed onions, bell peppers with beer cheese and sauerkraut. OMG were this good! The food was outstanding and full of flavor! The beer was even better! We met a gentleman named AJ who worked there and had a wonderful chat with him about business, beer and local events. Very nice, very knowledgeable and another reason why we wanted to go back. We also met Kathy our server and both Cindy's and chatted with them as well. Such a nice and friendly staff. Another great reason to visit. To follow up on this review, we did return with our daughter and her husband for dinner and to listen to some live music. They were also taken with the food and craft beer. Our server for the evening was Brook and she was such a delight to chat with as she was also a great source of information about Montgomery County. She really took care of use newbie Texans. I highly recommend visiting Old Oak Taphouse for the great beer, food, live music and superb customer service and just a general great afternoon or evening.

Why 4 stars? Because after one visit, I'm rooting for this business. --- --- --- Not all 4-star reviews are created equal. I was especially fond of Old Oak because I came away with the impression that they really care. From the service to the quality of the food, I believe these folks are really trying their best to deliver a product that's full of pride. I have to admit, I had never heard of the city of Plantersville. I had heard of Old Oak, but I just assumed it was in Montgomery. Nope, Plantersville, which is definitely a real place. We visited with our son and my in-laws. I played basketball that morning and was still fasted when we arrived around 12:30p and my wife was starving too. So we ordered a stupid amount of food. Bang Bang Shrimp: 5-stars. There was definitely a kick but these were full of flavor. Charcuterie Board: 4-stars. I'm not a huge charcuterie person but I enjoyed this one. Maybe I was just starving? Or maybe it was just full of really tasty meat and cheese. BBQ Chicken Pizza: 4-stars. I enjoyed the flavor and the fact that it had a very unique look from other BBQ chicken pizzas, but the one negative is that it wasn't very warm by the time it made it to our table. BBQ Wings: 5-stars. These were great. The perfect match of crispy on the outside but tender on the inside. Beef and Cheddar & French Dip Sliders: 3.5 stars. I loved the Texas toast, but the beef and cheddar slider was falling apart with every bite and was incredibly messy. The meat also tasted more like pot roast, which I'm not a huge fan of, but I still did enjoy these overall... just not as much as the other dishes. Chocolate Cheesecake: 3.5 stars. This was the one exception to the high-quality ingredients comment. I'm 98% sure this was just a store bought cheesecake. It was still a nice way to finish the meal with something sweet, but tasted like something you'd get in the frozen food section of a grocery store. People of the Greater Plantersville Metroplex: come on out and support this business! They are trying their best to bring a nice place to the area and deserve your attention!

This place is a great place to go for a great menu, a very good selection of beer, wine, and some mixed drinks. Live music Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons. *****

The decor/setup provides a slightly upscale, but still casual, sports bar feel that's family friendly. There are dart boards and various games surrounding the tables but it's all separated appropriately. Tbh this would be a perfect place to watch your sport of choice! The lineup: SOFT SERVE MARGARITA: you read that right & The reason we came here (thanks Instagram!) we got strawberry and it was everything and more I needed it to be. Will be back for this alone. TRUST. although..... I feel like it should've completely filled the glass like it does in the advertisement $9.99 a piece! 100/10 Appetizer: fried pickles spears - YALL. I am soooo picky about fried pickles and these are the best I've had. The pickles were good, crunchy, not overly oily, and stayed together! 12/10 Pickle flatbread: apparently I felt in a pickle escapade mood. Surpringly not over pickly and delicious. I would absolutely get this again. The crust was soft and cheese was melty! 9/10 Fish tacos: average. The chipotle sauce was a bit spicy. Don't know that I would get these again. 5/10 Fries I could skip, not my fave. The street corn was so good, though I wouldn't consider it traditional &! A bit heavy on the red onion, but I enjoyed it! Their sauces were all so good! The prices were fair & I feel like the amount I paid was relative to what I had, so kudos to management for that! Last but certainly not least, Prestyn, our server was great and hilarious. We truly enjoyed her & her jokes! PS - Girl, you and your name are beautiful! The food was semi-slow to come out, but thankfully we weren't in a hurry.

NRF was on a couple. They added a wall with pool tables since it changed owners. Ordered the blueberry lemon drop, it was 9/10 and would have been 10/10 but had no sugar rim... maybe I need to request it? Usually lemon drops come with but I dunno. Also ordered grilled shrimp tacos with cheese only. They came out with only shrimp, waitress brought out a side of cheese when I asked. Three shrimp to a taco, one more would have seemed more appropriate. But they were yummy. Fries were great, some of the best sports bar fries I've had. I enjoyed my food and drink and woke return, even though they still have some kinks to work out.

That's right. Adding fried cheese to the menu is important to me. Because beer + fried cheese = happiness. It is known. Forgot what apps we DID enjoy, but they were good. Even if they weren't fried cheese. Love good stout and porter selection, and they have it! Love to see a bar that hasn't turned all of their craft taps to IPA. Good to have variety, folks. Especially in winter. It WOULD be amazing to have dark beers served just a *wee bit* closer to cellar temp... not true cellar (too much for Americans), but at least in the 40's F. Just be ready for crappy parking and you'll be good to go. It's worth the patience to find a parking spot if it's busy!

We loved how the waitresses were dressed in dresses from the time it was so classy and fun. And we went on a night they had live music and it was sooo good. Our waitress was admittedly new, but when our food arrived an hour and a half later, it was so disappointing. Three of us ordered ribeyes, and none of them were cooked to our order; plus, they were charred on the bottom & sides. The wagyu burger was burned as well. We also ordered a bottle of wine, but the first 3 choices were out of stock!? Really? Our choice was to jump into a $60.00 or $80.00 bottle. The service team never checked in on how our food tasted or how we were doing. It's like they knew that they ruined our dinner and experience. About this, they call it a speakeasy because the doorway is a bookcase that is as obvious as the nose on your face. The dude hosting the stand at the door, did not even ask if we enjoyed ourselves. For these prices, they should be ashamed of the food they served us. Seriously! Do not waste a dime here. I am making sure everyone I know does not make the mistake we did.
