I waited sooooo long to try this out. I was disappointed for almost $90 I couldn't even finish my food and ended up giving it away. It was bland and undercooked. If you look at the picture you can see barely any seasoning. The mac n cheese was not baked it was the consistency of velveta, the cabbage all you could taste was orange peppers and that's the worst pepper out of every pepper. Nothing on my plate was good. It's like the stove turned off mid cook. I grew up eating southern food down in charleston every summer and this just was not it. Mac and cheese needs to be baked. I'm so disappointed, after spending over $100!!! First of all, for the crab cake egg rolls to be $38 and not have real lump crab is wild to me. The crabmeat was mushy and nasty, it was basically the crabmeat you get in a can. For $38!!!! The catfish meal was $48 but they added the wrong sides. My boyfriend didn't like the catfish he said it was nasty! The individual mac didn't look like the pics on instagram so I was disappointed but the flavor was good. Ok so I needed dinner for the family and was in Baltimore so I decided to order from Southern Butter. Not my first time and I had been planning on going back. Chef T showed up and showed out. I had a wonderful experience! The food was absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The portions were phenomenal. The service was friendly and keep me informed during my wait. Everything we ordered exceeded expectations, and it's clear a lot of care goes into both the menu and the customer experience. I'll definitely be coming back and highly recommend Southern Butter By Chef to anyone looking for a great meal. Food is not good at all Instagram over hype it . My turkey leg was dry and lacked flavor and came on top of white rice no flavor no sauce no nothing. Mac was bland no flavor the crab egg rolls were a bit over cooked. Food is pricey because of the social media hype but it's really not good. After all the rave on ig I decided to give this spot a try. My cousin and I called to place an order and they would not place the order unless we made a payment over the phone. I was not feeling that but ok whatever. We placed 4 orders of turkeys wing which the lady told us came to $40. We were told that it would take 25-35 mins, after waiting about 50mins our orders were ready however it was only 2 orders. When we went back to get the additional 2 orders, that I thought was an oversight, we were told that the turkey wings alone (no sides) were $20 each. I was so irritated and upset for being quoted misinformation. What mad matters worse is that the same thing happened to another lady while we were there, she was quoted the wrong price and was visibly upset. I called in to place my order at 4:01p, immediately after they opened at 4p. I placed a sizable order (4 meals and 2 crab egg rolls). It was quite costly ($210) but the pics/vids ok IG made me disregard the pricing. I was told that my order would be ready in 45 minutes. I was 30 minutes late arriving to pick up my order. When I got inside I was told my order would be up in 10 minutes (even though I was 30 minutes beyond the time they gave me). They said they would bring the food to my car. I waited for 15 minutes and they never came. I went back inside and they said, it was just about ready just pull the car up in front and they were brining it out. I waited another 15 minutes before they finally came out. I was upset but I was thinking it's not a big deal because the food will make up for it. WELL, it did not. I was very disappointed. Good things: Corn bread and Crab Egg Rolls. Everything else was subpar. My turkey leg was dry, the greens had too much vinegar, the Mac & Cheese wasn't right and the sweet potatoes were watery overly sweet (beyond normal sweetness). I was not impressed.
