Great food and service is great too couldn't everything!!!! Everything about South Fork is great. They're taco Tuesdays and you go by and honk if you like tacos, which is a lot of fun. They're right by the post office in Pollock Pines.

Headed for Denver and looking for lunch, we happened upon this place. I ordered the breakfast Burrito, unfortunately mostly potato, and not crispy as the sign indicated. Lacked texture, though the salsas were great! I hate to give this joint a bad review because it had a feel of desperation, so give it a try, and hopefully your experience is better than mine. Ambiance is roadside rustic, service was at the counter, and prices exceeded food quality.

Came in on a Saturday around 10:30am. The restaurant was quaint and neat. Came with a friend for coffee and a treat to go. Our server was super friendly and answered all our questions. I ordered the espresso scone and the Carmel donut (?) and two coffees. Our friend got the lemon bar. Black coffee was a little weak for me but was served hot. The lemon bar was delicious. The caramel donut was fantastic-ooey and gooey. The espresso scone-so full of chocolate chips and humongous. The lemon bar-tart with a great crust. The bagel bomb is my next selection. Can't wait to try one!!

We stopped here before hiking at Sly Park Recreation Area. Good food. Friendly staff. Plenty of parking. Cozy interior with outside seating options. Wish I would have gotten a pastry.

    Carnitas Bomb

After a hike to Bassi Falls we stopped by the Southfork 1848 Eatery & Bakeshop for a late lunch. The food was so fresh and the sandwiches were handmade. I opted for The Carnitas Bomb and OMG, what a delicious and filling meal it was. Plenty leftover for my dinner that night. Homemade bread stuffed with a delicious carnitas, cheese and cream cheese which was unexpected but so tasty. Will definitely go back!

A group of us make a yearly trek to Apple Hill and Sutter Creek on Nevada Day weekend to stock up on wine. This year two of us were ahead of the rest and decided to grab a late breakfast in this quaint roadside bakery/cafe. We did almost miss it, the signage isn't very big or noticeable. But fine have a large parking, as it sits in a small older strip mall. Order at the counter and staff brings it to you as it is prepared fresh. A variety of coffee drinks, pastries, and cookies. They also have a limited menu for breakfast and lunch sandwiches.

The BEST Sunday biscuits and gravy. Hands down the best I've ever had.

I ran to make this review. I was blessed with the Sunday biscuits and gravy! I cannot even put into words, how good these were. The gravy was SO flavorful. The biscuits complimented the gravy perfectly. If you have the opportunity to get biscuits and gravy at Southfork, DO IT. I will be craving this for the forseeable future. Thank you for the amazing breakfast. Oh and don't forget the mimosa!!!!

Felt like we were coming over to a family member's house for a meal like we do every Sunday. We ordered the breakfast burrito (eggs were super soft and each bite was evenly distributed between all the fillings), lake Finnon omelette (lots of sweet savory ham), and the fluffiest buttermilk pancake. We also got a warm cup of coffee, refreshing lake Finnon sunrise, and a fried doughnut (doughnut was the perfect amount of sweet and crunch). We also loved the sweet fruits and potatoes which were fried to a nice crisp with soft interior. Place is super clean and quaint. We will definitely stop by every time we are in the area. The service was extremely friendly and you can tell that everyone was excited to make something great. I got the grilled Brie sandwich with mushrooms and caramelized onions and I added bacon but I should have added a patty. It was a good sandwich but needed some extra crunch, like apple/pear slices if not adding a patty. My boyfriend got the pulled pork sandwich and he absolutely loved it. The sauce had an orange tang that worked really well. The French fries were super salty and hot and fresh and we really enjoyed our meal. The views outside were great! Inside was clean but the real views are outside.

I walked into this adorable little coffee shop Camino Coffee Mill and was immediately greeted with a huge smile by the gentleman behind the bar. It's always refreshing to find a place with both great coffee and even better customer service. If you're passing through the area or live nearby, I definitely recommend stopping in. Pleasantly surprised!…read more We stopped here on a whim on our way back from South Lake Tahoe, after a round of golf. Walked in, not expecting much, but at least some decent food to feed our hungry belly's. It was Saturday evening around 615ish, front of house was running around, but when she spotted us, showed us to our table, gave menus, and apologized as it might be a minute before our server would be able to take our orders because it has suddenly gotten busier than expected (large place but only about 1/4 full, but with 2 large groups, one of which was just seated before us) she came back with waters while we looked at the menu. Once our server came she was polite and took our drink order, promising to be back to take our food order. Understandably it took longer than usual to come back, so another man came to take our order. He apologized for the wait and said he would be happy to take our orders. We think he was the manager or possibly owner, really nice gentleman. We ordered the tiger prawns and Brussels sprouts appetizers, I ordered fish n chips, my husband ordered the rib eye with Mac n cheese and our friend ordered the salmon. The Tiger Prawns and Brussels came out first and the tiger prawns were amazing! 5 large tiger prawns, a couple pcs of toasted baguette, and in a type of white wine garlic Alfredo sauce type. The sauce was perfection, as I dipped each bite of prawn and soaked the accompanied bread. The Brussels were just as amazing, fried to have a nice crisp to it, but not soaking in oil, so they must've been fried in the perfect temp oil or something, and the glaze was just right (a lot of places just drench them in glaze as they're sitting there soaked in oil, but not the case here!) The ribeye was cooked very well (medium rare) and the hubby thought the salt level was PERFECT. It was a little salty for me, but I don't like a lot of salt. My husband almost always orders a good steak when available, and he thought it was great. The accompanying side of veggies were great too! Heavy on the garlic, but we love garlic so we thought it was perfect. The fish n chips were good, fries were ok, but not my style. They were more like shoe string fries, but that's their thing and a lot of people like that style. The tartar sauce was surprisingly good, and not just that cheap store bought stuff a lot of places tend to give. Friend with the salmon said it was good and ate it all. The gentleman that took our order forgot to add the fish n chips, but quickly rectified it, apologizing and bringing out some fries for me to munch on as the fish was getting cooked. Not a big deal to me, as I was already happy with the other items we had. He also came to our table once we were done and chatted with us for a bit, which was very nice of him. Overall the food was pretty good and would recommend stopping here if you have a chance when you have some time to relax while you eat. The staff are all nice personable. Sorry I didn't get to take pics of everything, as we were all really hing

So if you like those Raiders of the Lost Ark vibes, then you would like sitting next to the mine for sure. It's roped off but you can hear the water dripping and it is naturally cool. The structure was originally built as a hotel in 1853 and has been well preserved. I ordered their Smith Flat House salad ($10) and the Jambalaya Risotto ($34) which consisted of Cajun-marinated prawns, lobster meat, Andouille sausage, grilled sweet corn with saffron chicken risotto. Definitely had a bit of a kick to it, the risotto was done well. My pet peeve is mushy risotto, it needs to have a slight bite to it which this one had thankfully. Love the fact that this place serves up local wines -- I couldn't recall the wine I had and they do not have their wine menu on their website. If you have the opportunity to visit, I'd recommend a glass of red from Starfield (winery up the road).
