First off I would like to say I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CAR FROM THIS PLACE!!! The service department is the most unorganized place I've ever dealt with. Today 12/30 I had an appt for 12pm, I arrived at 1130. Timothy my advisor was ok but as of 430 haven't gave me and update on my car. And when I called they claimed that he was no where to be found. When asked to speak to management they gave me the runaround, kept me on hold for a very long time and then proceeded to hang up. I had to call back 12 times. After an hr Timothy finally picked up and over all the other ridiculous things told me they wouldn't get to my car till around 7pm. What the heck!! I ended up borrowing a friends car and drove up there to speak with Keith the manager, he was professional (talking wise) but didn't and couldn't provide me with and update on my car and proceeded to be sarcastic with the answers to my question. The customer he was dealing with in front on me had the same complaints and I feel her pain! I understand being busy, but the is just the worst. I purchased my Honda Civic hatchback sport touring at Honda of Southpoint in 2020. I have been very happy with this car (previous Acura RSX owner of 17 years). At my first annual inspection & complimentary oil change, there was an accident with my car -- someone in the garage drove over a curb. Rim significantly scratched and tire slightly torn. The Honda staff ALERTED ME to this mishap. Honestly, I do not think I would have noticed until days later. They were honest and showed me what they observed (dust from the curb still on the tire) and asked me appropriate questions about any knowledge of having done it myself. I am still impressed with their forthrightness. They promised to 'take care of it.' And they did. It took three months after submitting the order to the parts distributor to get the wheel -- back-order after back-order. But, manager Dave continuously contacted me with updates, ensuring me that this would not be dropped or forgotten. Absolutely wonderful customer service from Dave Lee. I will forever sing his praises. And now I again have a beautiful sporty Civic--like brand new! Thank you for your good faith running of business. read more

I bought my first new car here. I researched a lot before making my purchase and already knew the car I wanted. I had been to a couple of Honda dealers but none that were willing to work with me. I found this dealership after moving to the area, and my dealer was James Park. He was so knowledgeable and really wanted to get me the best deal for the price I wanted to pay. I don't think I would have made the purchase with any other dealer. He was professional, knowledgeable, and such a nice man. I really liked the process and was able to make a purchase that I loved. If I could give the service department a 1 Star I would. They don't acknowledge your presence at all. I was on the phone for 20 minutes trying to schedule an oil change because the lady couldn't put it on hold. She then proceeds to tell me the wrong information making telling me my oil change would be 24 plus a 10 dollar oil change. I didn't think anything of it because I don't work in a service department. Then I get here and they tell me those are two promotional prices and they can't be mixed. Well I talked to the manager and they gave it to me, however he says "that doesn't sound like something she would say." That's mad shady and I'm not going to lie about that. read more

I was blocked on their FB page for asking a question in the comments about the leasing mileage and made another comment asking if they had a maintenance perk program like I get with my Toyota (they don't) and they deleted my comments and blocked me! I used to feel good about Crown Honda Southpoint. They had service advisors that were competent and trustworthy. They encouraged every maintenance item as soon as the mileage interval came up, but they didn't do the hard upsell. I have since moved my Honda to a private garage. A few of the old trusted guard have remained, but service advisors turn over like crazy and now seem to have little credible knowledge of automobiles. It no longer feels like they're taking care of my car. It feels like a money-making operation. Perhaps coincidence, but the final 4 times I took my cars for maintenance only, they claimed major issues (power steering line leak, strut leak to name two). Aside from the above, they're too busy. Their service advisors are juggling too many cars. So their communication is poor, requested tasks get missed, while they recommend maintenance I recently had completed with them. The work often takes more than double their time estimate. They are clearly getting all the business they need, but it's just not for me anymore. I could no longer tolerate the sense of dread I had every time it was time to take my car in. read more

Following 3 good sales experiences, one might hope the service would be comparable. Sadly, that's not the case. I had a 9:45 appointment for a mandatory safety recall. When I made the appointment, I told them I'd be waiting. At noon, the service rep said, they "...hadn't gotten to it yet," but he was trying to expedite it. Remember - I actually had an appointment. At 2:15 he came out again with the same update. Given that it was a 2-hour job, I was going to be stuck there all day. I gave up and went home. I should have known better. The day after I bought my 2019 Ridgeline, the driver-side mirror was loose and needed to be replaced. Waiting a week for the part, I called them and was told "it just came in." Made an appointment for the next day, and waited 2 hours for the 15-minute job. Remember - the truck wasn't even a week old! I complained to the service manager, and received a phone call with an explanation that they don't have as many service bays as necessary to handle all their customers. That doesn't explain over-booking appointments. Then again, if they keep this up, they won't have to worry about so many customers. I know I won't make the same mistake again. read more

I'm big on customer service and product quality. We purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle a few months ago and I've been back here too many times for my likening. I have been able to get appointments fairly quickly and today when I came in Russell Willis stopped what he was doing to help, me after several staff had walked by without a good morning smh. Russell gets a 5 but collectively the business gets the 4 I'm a person of habit so I rely on Honda to be reliable. Hoping the pre owned works out my fingers are crossed. Assuming the employees just hate their job. 1) said it was detailed and they weren't able to vacuum. Still counted. 2) made appointment online/got shuttled to Southpoint mall for 3 hours. Each time I come here I ask myself why. They really need to step up in the customer service department. I went to have a scheduled car service. When I rolled up, I was the next car. Another customer came in after me in the next lane and they addressed his issue first. I am literally still sitting here and have been sitting here for 15 minutes. Update: Richard Robinson ended up coming up to me to help service my car. He was apologetic for what happened and his attitude made it difficult to continue giving "angry face". My 9:25AM appointment for a simple oil change took about 3 hours to complete. They sort of apologized at one point and said they were correcting a wiring recall but made no mention of the recall remediation on my service report, which was more of an invoice than a service report. I brought my own Mobile 1 synthetic oil in a five quart manufacturer's container. My Honda Accord only holds about four quarts of oil but they failed to return the remaining quart of unused oil. The charge for the oil change was about $43.00 with me providing the oil. I was given a free pack of crackers in the waiting room and they had free coffee, which seems to be universal at car dealers. I would not recommend Crown Honda of Southpoint if you have other options. They take too long, offer vague excuses for the delay and charge too much for what they provide. read more

I used to have a great impression of Crown Honda starting in 2004 when I bought my Accord here. My last experience though is now my last and I will not recommend nor praise this location anymore. I made an appointment for an oil change, tire rotation and NC state inspection on Thursday at 7pm. I dropped off my car and was told it should be done by 9pm. At around 10pm I had still not heard anything and was getting a little restless at this point. I went out to find my service advisor and he was just sitting on a table. He told me he would come find me when my car was ready. Fast forward a few minutes and the service advisor comes back to tell me I failed the inspection becasue of leaking power steering fluid. Interesting I thought to myself since my steering is fine, there are no signs and there is no leaking under the car when I park. I asked for a simple quote if I do have to have this done and it took another 30 minutes to get a quote for $1200 plus. I paid for my oil change and tire rotation and took my failed inspection paper. The next day, I went to an NC state inspection center and passed. I did write an email and got a series of calls fom the service manager. I gave you 14 years of my loyalty, Honda Crown, and this was the last straw. If I have a leak, show me the leak. Have a certified technician explain it to me. For any future car repairs, I am going elsewhere and will not come back. This is not how you treat your loyal customers. I love my car but I won't come back here ever again. read more

I purchased my first car from here and I have to say, it is the best car buying experience you could search for in all of NC!! They have great customer service, the atmosphere is so inviting, and there's refreshments for the long endured dealership process. The process in my case wasn't even as long as I was anticipating which was a huge plus because we all know how stressful and tiring the dealership could seem. I went around 11AM on a quite busy day and was out in time for work at four with a new car plus so much stress taken off my shoulders. I got the pleasure of doing business with James and I have to say he is the best car salesman I believe I'll ever encounter alongside also meeting Daniel who explained all the payment arrangements and financial aspects of the purchase to me in perfect detail. This place is confusing, because I feel that service is so hot and cold sometimes. I bought my used 2010 Toyota Corolla and the process was as is usually expected. The salesman said he was going to go in to "talk to his manager" to work out a discount for us, but when he came out, no discount was applied but he acted like it had been. We ended up getting the car anyway because I had just moved from California and needed a car to start school in two days. When we were leaving the lot, my dad who was driving a rental car behind me noticed that one of my brake lights were out. The dealership didn't think to check that everything was fine before letting me drive it away?! Thank goodness the car has given me no problems for the past 2.5 years that I've had it (fingers crossed!), so I'm overall satisfied with the purchase. Part of the deal of buying the used car was that I would get two free oil changes at the dealership. Each time I come in, I feel like I'm invisible because nobody ever comes up to me unless I get out of the car and look for someone (and even then, sometimes they just stare at me). It usually takes about 5-10 minutes for them to ask what I need. Both times I was here (by appointment), it literally took more than FOUR HOURS to have a simple oil change and car detail. What in the world! One of those times, the car was returned back to me without even being washed. I don't know if they just forgot, or were trying to pretend it was washed (there was a soft drizzle outside), but I knew the car wasn't washed because the sides of my wheels/tires were still dry and dirty. I do have to say that they do a pretty good job of vacuuming the inside though - it always feels so nice and clean after bringing it in. At the very least, they have donuts (in the morning), water, tea/coffee, and a shuttle for the many hours it takes them to get simple things done... I'd like to note, though, that some of the service advisors were very nice, such as Gerald Butler and most notably Daniel Suarez. Daniel wasn't even the service advisor who was taking care of me, but I couldn't find mine when I realized my car hadn't been washed, so I asked him because he was standing at his station a few feet away and he was so friendly and quick to fix that for me immediately. I only chose Crown Honda for oil changes because I get a couple for free, but if everyone there showed such great service like Daniel, I'd be much more willing to return regularly. read more

Horrible customer service and terrible prices for the Service Department. I've been having issues with my Honda Sensing, and I knew it had to be looked at ASAP since my warranty was very close to expiring. I took the first available appointment on Christmas Eve. I specifically checked with the service advisor what time they would be closing (2pm), and confirmed that an 11am appointment would be fine. I scheduled my day around this appointment, including taking time off work to be there. On the morning of the appointment, I got a call saying that they would not be able to see me, because "the work being done on my car would take too long." I asked 1) if this were the case, why I was allowed to make this appointment in the first place, and 2) what "work" they were talking about, because my appointment was just to run a diagnostic, not to perform any repairs. After speaking to the manager, they agreed to honor my appointment. At the dealership, I was met by a brusque, borderline rude man who seemed annoyed I'd even come in. When I told him what I was there for, he said that they would not have time to work on the car. I again had to explain the situation and that I had been assured by the manager that they would see me today. The man made a phone call to check on my warranty, said the words "no, the car was not purchased from us," and hung up. He smugly said "it'll be $130 + tax for the diagnostic -- your warranty expired at midnight." If it ended up needing calibration, that would cost $400+. These prices seemed high to me, and at this point, I felt like Crown Honda really did not value me as a customer, so I left. I ended up going to Autopark Honda in Cary, and the experience was like night and day. Everyone was polite and welcoming. The diagnostic there cost $75, and they quoted me $280 for calibration. Not a word about my warranty that had expired mere hours earlier. I will never go to Crown Honda again. read more

Chris, the service manager, was polite and friendly, but despite my explicit request not to have my oil overfilled, my 2017 civic still had more than 1 quart of oil that needed to be extracted out afterwards. It's a sign of incompetency and carelessness. I would not go back. Folks, the max line on your oil dipstick exists for a reason. Always check if the oil is above the line. Your expensive engine could be damaged if it's overfilled. read more

This service center is conveniently located close to Southpoint Mall. It serves them well because the wait time here for a simple oil change can take up to 3hrs. My review today is regarding the service provided by the repair shop. I have had two terrible experiences here that have led to my car being totaled. I suggest everyone avoid this Honda for servicing. They have such a high throughput of services that they do not take any time to actually look at your vehicle. The first experience I had here was during a recall service for airbags. I also asked for my AC to be recharged. They recharged AC and said everything was working fine. After the service I drove for 5 minutes and my AC was not even turning on. I brought it right back and they said the AC Compressor was broken, would be $1200 to fix. So I went from working AC to broken AC within 5 mins of leaving the shop. The second issue I have had with them was from an Oil change service. After getting my oil changed, the first time I take my car on the highway(only 80 miles later) my engine overheats and melts down. Long story short, car engine is totaled right after an oil change from this shop. They will not cover any of the repairs and quote me $5800 to fix. Avoid this Honda Repair Shop like the plague. Lots of service managers who will say anything to avoid liability. Too many cars repaired daily to pay attention to small details. Definitely find ANY OTHER REPAIR SHOP FOR SERVICES. If you get an oil change coupon from this Honda BURN IT. Go somewhere else. read more

ZERO STARS. I'm usually not one to give a poor rating on a place, but this is the second time it's happened so here it goes. I spent 3 hours waiting on an oil change the first time we used Crown Honda. Everyone was friendly and we received a complementary oil change for our next visit. Okay, I'll give them a second chance... We scheduled our appointment for today at 4:00pm. I arrived with our children and waited 2 hours in the service department before requesting a shuttle to the mall. At 7:45 I was notified that my van was being pulled back for service. At 9:00pm I requested my van regardless of the status. NOTHING HAD BEEN DONE YET. I'm not sure what they did with our van after they "took it back", but I was furious! Completely unacceptable. We will not be using their services again and will not recommend them to anyone. read more

2010 Honda Fit Recall: make sure to call ahead and verify that Parts & Services are capable of executing required services. Crown Honda called twice to "warn me" about my specific vehicle/VIN and a known safety recall, and kept my car overnight only to tell me the next day that they didn't have (and in fact never had) the needed part AND admitted that they knew this was happening to many other people. Then they blamed Corporate Headquarters and tried to sell me a bunch of other services (when I called corporate headquarters, they of course blamed the dealership). Total waste of everyone's time - mine and theirs - plus the COVID exposure of bringing the car in and having someone else in my car. Total broken trust and failure to take responsibility. read more

Very dissatisfied, I Took my Honda Accord for air bag recall and guess what, they uninstalled the glove box to get to the passenger air bag, when they finished they left the glove box uninstalled just stuck in to make it look like it was installed properly. This is the second bad experience I have with large brand dealership service shops, they are not so professional like they make it look like. Be careful and take the time to inspect your vehicle before you walk out otherwise you will end up like me. read more

June, 2016, I called to make an appointment to have my airbag recall issue resolved. I was told that they "ordered" the part and would call me back. Six weeks later I called back and was told that the parts can take up to 9-weeks to be delivered. October, 2016....still no word. I called, once again, and was told that there is "such a high demand for these parts" ... I would have to wait. In the meantime, Honda is sending me recall notices and telling me that passengers should not ride in the front seat until this issue is resolved - it could cause death. ONE YEAR LATER (June 2017), I reported Crown Honda of Southpoint to Honda and I immediately received a call from the manager of customer service telling me that he was "shockingly appalled" that this happened and had an "airbag with my name on it". I called Flow Honda of Burlington and they got my car in the very next day. The. Very. Next. Day. My wife and I dropped it off at Flow, walked to a nice little Italian restaurant for lunch, walked back to Flow, picked my car up (they even worked on an oil change!), and drove back to Durham. Crown Honda of Southpoint customers beware...they are only concerned with profit - even given the serious consequences of our situation with the airbags. read more

Once acknowledged the guy goes to work me up and he says there's 2.5 hour wait but will take no longer than 3 hours ! Absolutely not for an oil change ! What was the point of the appointment. I probably would have waited if the customer service was to par but it wasn't I will take my car back to AutoPark Honda where the customer service is better it's a little far from my current residence now but I'll drive for better service! I bought a 2016 Honda Civic for my daughter from Crown. I had a routine oil change done with week on it. Four days later, while my daughter was driving back to GA, the large plastic cover that goes on the underside of the car inexplicably dropped to the ground and was dragging the pavement. She had to get a trucker at a rest stop to rig it back up. Apparently they didn't attach it correctly after the oil change. I tried numerous times to speak to the service manager but apparently nobody there answers their phones. I also left voicemail which hasn't been returned. This isn't the first time we had to bring the car back after a service appointment at Crown. There was a recall on the Civic that we had fixed there. Afterwards the car was making a rattling noise when driving down the freeway. We returned to the dealer and they found a part that hadn't been attached correctly (or at all!). I highly recommend avoiding the Crown service department if possible. read more

Took car for oil change. I know service at dealerships take a while, I was expecting a 1-2 hour wait. After about 90 minutes I asked for an update (was told it would be about that time to complete) and was told it was being worked on now. After another 30 mins I asked for an update, they hadn't started working on it yet. I made an appointment for this and was on time for it. Frustrating, just be honest about how long it will take and maybe don't offer appointments if the service center isn't capable of servicing appointments? read more

But, the Honda gods smiled upon me and Mike was my advisor again. He called around to locate the part in the area (no luck) and even went so far as to call the Honda dealer in my hometown where I am traveling to this weekend to see if they could order the part and get me in tomorrow. Above and beyond! He is a gem! Thank you! I also find it comical that Matt Mann responded to my review with such concern when he is IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of at the dealership. I can't tell you how many times I called before that last service appointment with questions about my warranty, etc. I was always forwarded to his voicemail and my calls were never returned, nor were my online inquiries. PREVIOUS REVIEW: It's all about the bottom line here. They overcharge for basic services and overestimate labor time. I take my car elsewhere for routine maintenance. I once paid double for an oil change and tire rotation at Honda than what I typically pay at my usual mechanic. HOWEVER. If you do need to bring your car here for something dealer-specific (for example, I recently needed to bring mine in for the airbag recall), ask for Michael Brosnick as your service advisor. He was great, super friendly and honest, and gave me his direct contact info to check in on the status of my car and ask any questions. I give him 5 stars! read more

Well I was going to give them more praise until my technician went on his lunch break and I sat in the waiting room for over an hour longer than I needed to waiting for him to get back. Luckily I was not in a real hurry today because from when I arrived to when I left all I got were lots of apologies for making me wait. I understand waiting when getting service, that I am use to so I was ok with that. I wasn't ok with waiting when I probably did not need to be waiting any longer. They seemed to do a good job, but I was told my car would be washed and it wasn't. At this point I just wanted to leave. I took the shuttle to the shopping, which is a nice plus and the reason I made a later appointment then I tend to do (I was told if you want quick service come at 7 am when they open). Carolyn was our driver and she was outstanding. Easy drop off and pick up service. She gives you her card to call her when you are ready to be picked up. She was wonderful. The waiting room is pretty sad, but they are expanding so hopefully that will get better. They did have a coffee machine, little bottles of water, and free donuts/bagels in the morning (a little stale by the time I got there and not many). read more

I've had my oil changed twice there and this last time I waited in my car for 15 minutes with no one acknowledging me. It then took FIVE HOURS for my oil change to my done. It truly was only an oil change! The absurd wait both in the beginning and after the oil change was never mentioned. I know other places are cheaper for oil changes and after this last experience I will be going elsewhere. read more

Update #2 August 2019: William Jewell from Southpoint Customer Care reaches out to me via email to explain the $2200 I was quoted was a total of the prices of 4 different sets of 4 tires. This is not what I was told when quoted at the dealer, but this at least makes that specific number make sense. I will still not be returning in the near future because the other services recommended were stated to be much more critical to fix immediately than they actually are (based on a second opinion from another reputable Honda dealer), the service advisor marked 4/32" to push a tire sale when they are actually 6-7/32" (approaching end of life, but not necessary to replace yet), they also failed to note other issues that will be need to be addressed (though probably in the next year or two - not immediately), and all quotes were significantly higher than for the same services quoted at other local dealers (including one that looked at the car physically, and was not provided any information on the quotes Crown gave). William - thank you for your response, but unfortunately your service department needs to discontinue the alarmist practices they use to sell services that may not be necessary and needs to stop overcharging for work and parts (see the previous $300 bill for replacing an AC mix motor accessible and attached with 4 screws - which I was given a tiny but partial credit for previously). Update August 2019: Quoted me $2200 to replace 4 tires (tires only, not wheels/any other work) on my 2005 Honda Accord. They do need to be replaced - but $2200 is ludicrous (feel free to compare prices at tire shops or even other dealer sites in the area if you want proof). This is 3 times what this should cost. They also indicated I need $2000 in additional work - but at this point I don't trust anything Crown Honda quotes or suggests. Taking my business permanently to another dealer in the area, and you should too. Original review: Charged me $350, 1.5 hours of labor, and $40 in shop fees for 20 minutes of labor swapping an $80 driver-side A/C mix motor attached by 4 easily accessible screws in a 2005 Honda Accord. I told the service advisor the symptoms and which part needed to be replaced when I arrived, and instructed him to have their tech ask me if it was unclear what needed to be done. He did inform me their minimum charge would be $160 due to an "A/C diagnostic fee" even though I instructed them what part to replace, but I accepted that it would be $160 for working on 4 screws, as long as I could have it fixed. Over an hour after I dropped off my car, the service advisor and tech came out to ask me to point out the part (I assumed they had only just started looking - not wasting over an hour of labor first before asking me). 20 minutes later I was informed the repair was finished, and they would take it through the car wash. The service advisor then informed me they wanted to charge $370 for the priviledge of ignoring all instructions I had given them to replace an OEM part I could have easily acquired elsewhere for $80, and replaced it easily via the four bolts it's attached by. He offered a 10% discount on the labor they overcharged me on - which is a joke, since they logged an hour and a half for what I know took the tech less than 20 minutes (I know because I had to demonstrate to them which part to replace). I've tried contacting the service manager multiple times with no call back. Update: finally got in touch with the service manager (it took a couple months), they let me know my original service advisor was no longer at southpoint and agreed this wasn't the level of service I should expect. They have me a partial credit for the amount over what I had expected to pay (still high, but I went to the dealership because I needed the issue fixed quickly before a trip and did not have time to order the part myself). Updating from one to three stars, because while the charge and the length of time it took to get in touch with the service manager was excessive, they did adjust to my original expectations, and my service with them before and after this incident has been generally good. read more
